Im 57 y.o. and follow the sport most of my life, I havent seen anyone dominate the premiere class in their first year like JL18 is,, with relative ease, regularly putting 20-30 seconds on 2nd. He should break all the records. I love Tomac, but i think Jett has them ALL covered. Hunter will have the red plate back next round or two. That was an ugly one for Honda.
I definitely appreciate the take on the Hunter bike issue. Please keep them coming. Hearing Jett say his legs were dead and the temp was this the chance for someone to beat him?
His legs were dead but he still destroyed everyone. I'm sure others probably felt the same but most of those guys never want to divulge any weakness. I think Jett has so much confidence he isn't worried about that whatsoever.
What do factory teams replace between motos when racing there? RV talks about managing how hard riders are on the bikes in order to make it to the end of the moto and he mentions bike failures happening there in the past. If the toll taken on the bike is so bad that they barely survive to the end of the moto, does that mean teams are regularly swapping entire engines between motos? That doesn't seem to be the case since they show Hunters engine swap being a frantic deal, but if they all push the entire motor that hard, wouldn't nearly every rider have to swap complete engines between motos just like tires and whatnot?
I thought the same thing... also, for these big riders why don't they have a spare bike, it seems crazy not to have an alternate bike unless you can only have one bike per race? But Honda has some of the best most advanced tech and I'm thinking they're trying something that might be back firing. Honestly, Honda has some of the fastest most nimble bikes and it gives good riders a better edge. They can ride the bike longer without affecting their fitness I think. I think Honda found the secret balance between weight and the optimal power band
Congratulations vialle ! I was there and he was ripping the entire 60+4. And I was about to have a heatstroke in the shade on the infield. He's in some good shape boy nice ride youngbuck

12:50 does no one look at timing and scoring? Or the video of Vialle getting JCoop in moto 1? Vialle was CLOSING. He got down to within 2 seconds and Cooper crumbled. Vialle won moto 1 straight up. Would’ve preferred a battle though. But moto 2 JCoop was the main character and the cameras should’ve been on the whole time he rode like a bad dog and was 🤏 this close to getting that overall. No. Things change over time. Almost everything changes. People came before him who also had the finishes and the hype, but lacked the sports exposure in recent decades along with lacking hype thru media, social media, etc. They also came before times when people used acronyms like "G.O.A.T" (the O and A shouldn't be included) and insisted that every sport had one of those people. Isn't it interesting how the GOAT of every sport is somebody who was in their prime during the same years that people who used acronyms like that were watching? GOAT is in the same boat as YOLO, GFYS, the most recent Alphabet-Mafia acronym and its ++ symbols.
@@justlucky8254 Well you’re totally discounting what he did over the course of his career. His “opinion” holds more weight than just about anyone on the planet. He has earned the right to speak his mind as gospel in any motocross or supercross
Interesting idea about managing, or just riding at 80 percent . Looking at the history of motocross, the story of that one euro dude who was so far ahead of the competition that he had time to stop & drink a beer, I mean that's just crazy. You two know about dominating your competitors, I think every champ does it a bit differently, I think Jet has the measure of these guys, and he is just going to destroy them. I'm a Tomac guy, but I think the writing is on the wall. Or should I say the Riding is off the wall.
If you won't let me race the SMX playoffs for another team after publicly severing ties, but you also won't give me the support to race on a KTM... then you better still be paying me until i can legally be on that Yamaha, cause that would be wrong to pull that...he'll still be top 5 in points, I believe, most guys who are racing are a long ways behind and quite a few arent even racing right now. Jett will probably catch him at the rate he's going, but only a few other guys have a real shot.. I think Coop will end up around the top 5 too. The points reset, you just get points based on your qualifying position, which I believe is Olympic scoring. So 1st will either be 1 point (or would you go in with zero, then 2nd will be 1 point?) And so on down the line... So if Jett came in with 5 points (or less) cause he qualified 5th, he can make up 5 points in 3 races, especially the double points night.. So can Coop, I just don't think he'll be comfortable enough yet, itll take some racing to figure it out. Just being in the top 10 would be doable for someone like Jett, i mean, Eli won't be there I wouldn't imagine, although, with that type of money on the line if his achilles wont re-tear and it's strong, it may be worth riding even with a lack of fitness and seat time..Coop will be on a different bike, if he's there at all, so it'll be between Jett and Chase, I think... If Jett wins that, and Hunter wins outdoors and SMX, the brothers will have swept ever single championship in the same year, outside of 450 Supercross...but Honda still won that anyway lol. That'd be crazy, and it'll never be replicated by another set of brothers. Just winning both coasts in the same year won't happen again, and now they're working on both outdoor titles, which I think Hunter will get his crap worked out, I don't see him throwing it away and letting it snowball like last year leaving SouthWick... if the both get the outdoor title, at the very least Hunter gets the SMX.. after how he rode in supercross, I don't see anyone beating him. And as for Jett, it wouldn't shock me if he won that too and served notice going into '24... it's a wild year for the Lawrence family, even better for Honda, they'll most likely sweep every single championship, which I doubt they've done before... cause if Jett doesn't win SMX, Chase will. Chase is the reigning supercross champion so he should be the favorite barring any weird front end issues, but Jett will be coming in with so much confidence and his starts on lock... If he's as comfortable on his supercross bike as he is his outdoors and averages the same starting position, oh boy.. I think he'll be a lot better than what he was on his 250, just because it fits his style, and there were times he had the fastest overall lap in qualifying on his 250.. I heard they waited to get rid of Coop until after the first WSX round so he'd have no shot at winning the title if he chose to race... because he originally wanted to go race it, not outdoors, and KTM in particular have a very bad relationship with the WSX promoters, to the point in a meeting they almost came to blows... So there was no possible way they were allowing Coop to race that series, and now they've guaranteed he won't be a contender.. you gotta admit, it is odd timing right after the first round. Which Kenny looks on rails by the way, landing in a rut and making a double out before the finish line, insanity... and his whoop speed and intensity is higher than I've seen out of Kenny, except for maybe the opening laps in an outdoor national.. i don't know if there's less pressure, maybe the #1 plate is giving him a lot of confidence (i know it was only two races, but seeing the #1 has to give you confidence and everyone else take notice), or maybe it's the lack of competition and tigher track making him look much faster than in AMA supercross, but he certainly looks far better.. and these 8 lap races are the best training for him, it's forcing him to be aggressive, make passes quick, and sprint..which I hope he carries this over into AMA Supercross, he hasn't been agressive like this since his hand went into Coops wheel. That would help him a lot, same with these 8 lap sprints, and his bike should be a lot better come A1. Speaking of his bike, WSX is more like a GP... Did they build a full WORKS bike for Kenny, or are they using the same bike as if they were under production rules and continuing to develop it for next year? While that would be cool to ride, he doesn't need it to win, and I think it'd be worth riding the same bike to help him for next year.
