I think this guy's an A+ fighter for his age just think about it he started boxing when he was 12 & went pro at 15 & was already knocking his opponents out, for one he's very calm & never gets all wild in the ring, he obviously knows how to shift his weight & balance to give those hard body shots. Respect to canelo alvarez the future great of mexico!

I had never previously seen Canelo fight but seeing that he was a smaller powerpuncher going up a strong slick boxer in Trout, i thought Trout would win an easy decision.
Canelo surprised me, he did like Cotto did in the Mosley fight. If he wants to become an all time great he must continue to get better.
He's about to fight Trout , and he's been calling out Mayweather . also blame Golden Boy for not getting him the fights he wants , he's been wanting the big fights already but Golden Boy hasn't been giving him those big fights .

hes about to fight Trout on 420, but i understand where you comin from havin most of his fights in Mexico and started pro when he was 16 that gave him a head start amongst other boxers even though it mainly was against nobodies i feel if he fights any big name he would win either by UD or a late knockout hes a extremely good fighter with some pretty good power i hope he drops back down so he can take that power he gets from light middleweight and put it in to welterweight

there's just some people that are really hard to break and he's one of them. And yes, Martinez will outclass this guy (and he's got more power than Lopez for sho) and will win by decision. Gayweather will NOT fight this guy as he might be little more successful in breaking him down compare to Cotto (which seems to gas out with age) and Weather knows that. Ortiz....eeee, not sure folks, he better fix his chin first and fight couple more tough fighters before getting in the ring with Canelo.....

He's a bit overrated, but not as much as some media and critics (haters) make it look. His only title defenses (the 5 you mentioned) were all light middleweights (or have fought there at least once) with the exceptions of Mosley, who is not that good at 154, and Lopez. Cintron, Gomez, and Rhodes ARE 154pound fighters!!! Trout was calling him out being a nobody, so why in hell would he pick him before? Martinez, Chavez & Golovkin are Middleweights and none had called him out in total seriousness.
I like Canelo but he's obviously become overrated compared to what he's actually achieved. Apart from a 40yr old Mosley, he's only fought nobody's & much smaller guys. Trout, Martinez, Chavez & Golovkin have been calling him out forever but he keeps looking for weaker fights or smaller opponents. It's sad that he's last 5 title defences weren't even against 154lb fighters. I really do hope he officially accepts the Trout fight, because he's beginning to lose a lot of respect from all the pro's.
