I got really good at skyrim years ago but getting started in Fallout 3 is a challenge man...i'm getting butchered by almost everything that shows up. Got about 30 caps, shitty items, broken weapons, no meds, no perks. Plus, must've taken the exact opposite of the perks he took lol

It's actually a mistake to get the strength bobblehead so early. If you buy Sgt RL3, it can carry excess cargo. Strength 5 is fine, then get ant might perk. With that you can get strong back perk to offset lower strength.
You forgot about Jingwei's jumpsuit. Push the Quartermaster into the ammo tent, position him at the corner away from the door. Save first, then kill em with the power fist. Don't let the sergeant see you or he turns agro. Once dead you can loot his body for 2nd armor set. Use this to reverse pickpocket Jingwei for his jumpsuit. It's got the best armor to weight ratio in the game.

Get the INT bobblehead before level 3 for more skill points. Get Dogmeat before then too because he levels up with you, unlike the other followers. This means he's goes into maximum bork overdrive and can one-shot most enemies in the late game. Great guide, this keeps the game alive! Lastly, but most importantly remember: tunnel snakes rule.

Don't forget the lucky 8 ball in big town, it's a temporary buff (+1 luck) but as long as it's in your inventory it counts for perks
You said its temporary but if its in your inventory its permanent. So is it permanent when equipped? Or is a temporary timed buff?

Its permanent as long as your carrying it in your inventory. "No longer feeling lucky." Will appear on your screen to let you know the buff no longer affects you. -Courtesy of the fandom wiki.
This also applies to the teddy bear thats rewarded to you by the tree minders child at the end of the quest, but +1 charisma rather than luck.

I honestly almost just crapped myself, I was up to the bit with getting the strength bobblehead, I needed to pick the lock to the front door. I snuck in and went upstairs with no issues, I thought nobody saw me. I picked up the bobblehead and turned around to see some kid just standing in the doorway looking at me. I actually jumped so badly.

Great video. I remember playing the beginning of this game thousands of times trying different builds. One note on Sheriff Lucas is you can tell him about the guy wanting to blow up megaton, and he will confront him and get killed if you don’t save him. This way you get his gear, silenced 10mm, key to armory and can still turn in quest to his son for payment and your new house. 🤘
First time player. I watched Burke kill the Sheriff, and then I killed Burke, but now I can't find the son anywhere, to do the bomb quests. ???

Awesome content man! You can enter the nuclear bunker without the 5 codes. You just need to go third person mode and pull the lever from the other side. :) Keep it up
You can also talk butch into killing them on his own if you give him a weapon and then go with him and help save his mom. You get another speech check for xp and you can get him as a follower when you return to the vault later in the game.
Something not many people know about in fallout 3 is that you can jump off of high locations without getting killed or even hurt as long as there's something you can target with vats at the bottom, jump down and target them with vats when you are close to them and punch them once then immediately holster your fists so whoever you hit does not turn hostile. Unfortunately this trick does not work in new vegas.

Didn't find it in this video, so i'll say it. Talk to Doc Church about the people of Megaton, and he'll bring up Leo Stahls Chem Addiction. Talk to him about it and convince him to stop. He'll then give you a key to his stash in the water plant, it has about 100 caps, plus a big stash of chems
I came from fallout 4 boy the difficulty of this game scales up a lot higher and I am struggling with this game so hard

I love fallout 3, at the time its game engine was great and bugs were acceptable to an extent. By fallout 4 the bugs should have been fixed and the engine completely replaced (I mean a lot of issues span across fallout 3 to fallout 4 *Lol even fallout 76 has the same giant hands glitch that I encounter in fallout 3). I think the biggest issue is that fallout 4 is built for a much broader audience and features too much guidance and gives up too much of its ominous atmosphere for action and predictability. Furthermore the map in fallout 3 seems large, mainly due to its ability to obscure line of sight as well as section off the map into sections that must be explored rather thoroughly in order to advance.... Unfortunately the map, along with power armor and some of the best weapons in fallout 4 are mostly accessible in the beginning of the game (Which is completely fine for a second playthrough or for someone who plays fallout more like an action game and less of an exploration/rpg game)

Brennan Williams-Bilinski Yep the loss of the ominous ambiance was the biggest sacrifice FO4 made. Playing fallout 3 for the first time was bleak, horrifying, and pure adrenaline. It felt a lot more mature than FO4.

You don't need the codes for that door (Keller Family Vault). There's a glitch. If you crouch by the right side of the door, you can actually reach the switch (on the other side of the door) with little difficulty.

great guide i played fallout 3 so much after my uncle gave it to me but 2 things where missing. Earlier in the vid both minor but at the street check the mail box and behind megaton there a rock with 3 trees sarounding it you can get a stealth boy, a sniper and some ammo. But still overall amazing guide.

I’ve always thought swift learner is the worst perk you can get in fallout, it’s not that much extra xp and you level at a good rate in all these games. I’ve always seen it as useless, you could just kill like 4 more enemies lol
You are correct Jake swift learner is a perk only meant to level faster which bites you in the ass cause you could have gotten something more useful like any other perk

@@Chrono_Mitsurugi honestly the perks in 3 arent all that interesting, my current run I just finished out Broken Steel at level 20 and I have Intense Training rank 10 and Here & Now, CAH and Lady Killer, and a few others to boost crits, most of the others are crap or add 10-15 skill points which you dont need with max INT, Comprehension, and Educated
I remember when my brother introduced me to Fallout 3 on his xbox 360. Man I remember how often I'd fire that bad boy up when he'd go off to work then beggin for an "extra 10 minutes or lemme finish the quest!" This game is an all time favorite hands down. Its depressing to see where Bethesda went as a company having gems like this under their belt. The kids coming from 4 and 76 will never understand just how nostalgic it is to think back to New Vegas and F3. Of course I'm aware of the even older OGs but I was cemented in F3. Flashy online gameplay and graphics was not needed then to make a game great. Just a great concept and mediocre graphics was enough to do... games like F3, NV, GtaSa, Fear, and Fate games to name a few hit the nail on the head. To this day each I could replay over and over. Not many games today have that kind of replay value. Just focused on the initial sale and some live service update/ gameplay bullshit.

If I can leave one constructive comment for you is to level the audio for the game a little more, there are small sections where it was hard to make out what was said lol all good that's what the rewind buttons for.

You can get the house accessories free. To do so, enter Craterside Supply then go to the wall in front of the stairs that lead to the upper floor. If you use the 3rd-person camera rotation exploit you will find there is a locker behind the wall. Inside are the house accessories. BTW I think it's a mistake to choose swift learner. XP is easy to earn in this game. Any of the other perks would be better

Okay. I’m like brand new to the Fallout universe, having never owned a system that could play it back in the day. This video is so helpful! I struggled to get through some of the first few areas/missions, wandering about the wasteland with no sense of direction or even an understanding of where to start and what perks/skills to start with. I’m really not all that far into the game, but after watching just the first five minutes of this video, I’m totally starting over.
New Vegas has better story, but definitely do 3 first because it’s less complex to learn

Don't forget to loot Springvale. Lots of easy stuff there and no enemies when you first start.
Also you can get all the upgrades for your house for free. Its pretty easy but may take a few tries.
You can speech 400 caps from Silver in Springvale, another 500 from Lucas Simms in Megaton, loot the safe in the cafe next to the bomb for another 300, fix the pipes for Wlater for 200 and sell all the stuff you looted from the vault, Springvale and your Megaton house for about another 300. That's about 1700 caps before your first nap. Way better than my first time through.

You missed the Lucky 8 Ball in Big Town, heal the kid in the clinic before the super mutant fight and he gives it to you after. It acts as a permanent +1 to luck meaning it counts towards perk reqs. which also frees up a point in the beginning SPECIAL allocation
Don’t forget to run to river city before leveling up at all to get the intelligence bobble head more points or level if you’re at 10 also choose the educated perk ASAP and save all skill books until after you take comprehension perk

I am an old gamer and it took me a while to figure out the 10mm glitch, because I misunderstood “buy everything from Moira” because I could not do that, not enough caps even after getting ask the caps as you described... but by chance and frustration I did the 10mm trick and it worked! I thought the glitch would happen AFTER you bought EVERYTHING from her... what I realized if that you buy all you CAN and spend all your caps, so that you can recover all of it to buy the house stuff... (facepalm...)... thank you, man, thank you...!

I think after you get out of the vault go to megaton by ammo and get abducted by aliens if you have the DLC and then get all their op weapons so that way it's really easy to kill everybody that gets annoying and if you complete all the other DLCs you can just get all kinds of different weapons that are really good and then you can complete the normal storyline easily

Alot of people prefer saving Megaton. Its faster to get to your safe house.
Tenpenny tower looks nicer, but the suite is smaller than the Megaton House.
But really, you should make a save and try both to see which one you prefer.

Good guide bro but there is an error:In the quest ''Ghouls''(tenpenny tower) if u convince the people to let the ghouls in, the ghouls will kill anyone 2-3 days later , and you can't take the drops from them.The best way to end the quest Ghouls (tenpenny tower) is to let the ghouls enter from the door (in the generator room), because you will enter with the ghouls and you will take all the drops for the dead people, and PLUS IMPORTANT YOU CAN SHOP ANIWAY THINGS FROM THE GHOUL MICHAEL MASTERS 2-3 DAYS LATER, HE WILL SPAWN IN THE SHOP OF TENPENNY!!!
PS:I RACCOMEND TO DO THIS QUEST AT THE END OF THE GAME, BECAUSE YOU NEED TENPENNY IN ANOTHER QUEST NAMED ''YOU GOTTA SHOT EM IN THE HEAD'', SO END THIS QUEST AND LATER LET THE GHOULS ENTER IN IN THIS OTHER QUEST FROM THE DOOR.

Starting to feel the need to play it again.
Only things I feel like you missed was the infinite minigun and ammo from the simulation and maybe how to get the 3 bottlecap mine schematics because they are super overpowered for a starter item. The tip that was intentionally left out due to difficulty at low lvls was getting the +10 dmg from the two perks in point lookout because its just 800 caps and a quest away which is excellent value. Still it was a nice guide and fun trip, gj.

If you use energy weapons use PER, if you use guns use AGI, if you use melee or unarmed use STR, then END as a secondary focus then intelligence then luck, let's not forget bobbleheads and the lucky 8 ball. Plus completing the THOSE! quest in Greyditch will give you an extra point of STR or PER.

You can use the mentades from the over seers office to de fuse the bomb and spend your points on something useful like sm guns or eng wepons
Also if you're in the reserve depot, you can open the locked door without any passwords. If you go to the right of the terminal at the locked door, go in 3rd person, crouch and spin the camera around, you can press the electrical switch on the other side of the wall if you line it up right.

Bro! I've played a ton of FO4 and NV but very little FO3. Been playing and just watched your vid. Those caches are literally good enough to carry someone thru the game. Thinking about making a commando type build and making a bee-line for the National Guard Depot and just using that gear for the rest of the game. Gonna role play like someone gave my dude a tip I can find some good gear there to help me on my quest to find dear old dad. And since naturally you're a bit desperate for gear when you first exit the vault, that's gonna sound real good to my wanderer. He grew up in a Gunner vault, naturally he's not gonna feel too comfortable til he's armed to the teeth.
After you get out of the vault you should go straight to rivet city to get the intelligence bobble head. Also taking swift learner is a bad idea because there will always be ways for you to get experience so you are wasting a perk, your better off getting intense training.

Did you know silver the girl you talk to to get 400 caps if you kill her she has another 100 caps after the speech challenge amongst other things just saying
I’ve been following this guide…I’ve had to go back to old saves a few times and I’m about half way thru
lockpick, science, speech.
first problem is lockpick 50 in dads office, which u can do later on in the game.
second is speech with butch.
third is as soon as u first level up, put all stats into repair. because if u dont then u cant take and repair everything like weapons to outfits in the vault.
fourth is exit the vault and level up and put all stats into speech.
fifth is speech with woman in springvale.
then sixth is speech with sheriff at megaton.
first is do the water in megaton, then start survival guide quests and do radiation first, then food from that store then land mines.
when u get to level up i focus on getting lockpick to 100 asap so i can get that lock picked in megaton at armoury and do everything in megaton befor i venture off out of there until further or when i blow up megaton if i choose.
i believe there is a strategy but its also RPG role playing however u like. the thing i hate about most is u could have high speech and still fail which annoys me. i have high speech, 2+ speech outfit and drink beer and still fail like wtf bethesda!
im getting back on this game and gonna start a new game. i platinum it on PS3 when it first came out and ive had it a while on PC but not played it long enough and ended up starting new games and getting so far then not playing on it for a while but i also downloaded add ons for this and still havent got that far yet lol i would love to screen record and post it like a movie and 4k and walk and eat and sit and rest and sleep and make it good ya know but its very hard work and ive tried it and fuck up and need to save at right points and stuff. like my first video could consist of an hours play until i exit vault. or it could be longer like 2 hours play with me make it to megaton and see people and do stuff till its dark and go to sleep and video ends. video 2/part 2 i wake up and start my day. howmany series would u like to see? ive thought of it and can do it but struggle. i wish i could do videos like use guys.
