I thought Undercity was totally worth it. My friends and I had so much fun playing it, and we're excited to finish the campaign. Tom is a good reviewer, but he isn't Jesus. For example, he thought Chaos of the Old World was great, but gave it a thumbs down because he didn't like the theme. I think that's unfair to the game. And Undercity is a blast. The characters you play are the most fun. I definitely recommend it to anyone willing to put the time in for a long campaign.
The character expansion is GREAT for more char types which are fun to play. I have never seen the campaign expansion. Could you send me a link to it. Widower's Wood is another game though and while I love Warmachines not a huge fan of hordes...though do love Legion..lol.
Yeah I remember the Kick starter stuff. That is the problem though for those who don't find out about the game till after the game is released. Though with new campaigns that i what i am really looking forward to.
Pretty much what I was afraid of. Between Shadows of Brimstone, Super Dungeon Explore, DnD Adventure Board game, And Imperial Assault I really couldn't say when I'd play this one. And I have an affinity for the warmahordes universe.
I'm not arguing with the review, but I know Tom likes the D&D "Ravenloft" line of games. Those seem to suffer from a lot of the same issues. They're dungeoncrawls where the dungeon element lacks distinction. What do they have over this?
+Steve Gale In the D&D games, the dungeon is built as you progress. The tiles themselves (which don't look nearly as bland as this game), are very thick and lock together so you can easily move the board without disrupting the tiles. The question shouldn't be "what do they have over this?", it should be "what does this have over them?", to which I would answer, "nothing". They have higher production values, the D&D license, way more variety with the traps, encounters and treasure, and uses a D20 and 4th Edition combat.
Privateer Press has Warmachine and Hordes, they don't want to compete it their own products, this is meant to be simple. In their oversimplification they failed trying to apeal to the ligth wargaming crowd.
who edits your videos? They aren't bad (and I actually enjoy your guys' opinions and takes on things even when I disagree with them) but theres like alot of little amateur things that I don't understand why they didn't get fixed that I notice in alot of your videos.
i wish i could tell the game designer to actually put body parts as hitpoints...so if the enemy is holding a gun on his right hand, hitting his right hand would disable him from using his gun. hitting his head would stun him. hitting his leg would stop his movement phase, hitting someone in the nuts could...eh...critically hurt him??? each body part has separate armor piece protecting it with different difficulty to hit. each heroes has different fighting style, that deal with different enemies and different body layout. humanoids. insectoids. robots. demons. and defending against different attacks. and you roll your dice to see which body part you hit rather than if the attack hits or not. each attack and weapon has higher frequency to hit a different body part. and has higher frequency to counter attack against an attack made against certain body parts. instead of traditional tank/heal/dps classes, it should have different fighting styles that each character prefer.

only complaint i have of the game is lack of expansions or second campaign.

11:30 I would play it again...
13:20 I don't want to play this again...
Cocaine is one hell of a drug ;)

hey Tom when you review shadow of brimstone?
There are a lot of rpg, dungeon crawl, and such games going through Kickstarter too.

"Antiquidated." I'm going to have to start collating these 'Vaselisms' into a dictionary.

Not going to be part of my collection at all. Thanks for your honest and to-the-point review Tom. :D
Thought the same thing. Easy pass.
Is this a "Galaxy Defenders" rip-off with even uglier board, or is it just me?
Tom I love your reviews and have been watching for years, but that hat has got to go. You look like an Amish pickle farmer.
+John Sciarratta I can live with that.
+The Dice Tower Lol. That's why you're the best. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Tom, your face is not so important that it needed to be underlined.
