Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for watching! I've gotten a few comments suggesting alternative solutions to the fire area, so I figured I'd address them in a pinned comment instead of replying to everyone individually. Let me tackle the big ones: "Why didn't you use a hydrant?" Hydrants don't drop from either of the device dispensers in the depths, meaning the only ones I have access to are the naturally generated hydrants in/near the fire temple. If the hydrant is already turned on, that means it's got infinite battery. This definitely seems like a solution, but after extensive testing I found that walking the hydrant too far from its initial spawn point automatically despawns the hydrant, even if you're carrying it. "Why not fuse the hydrant to your shield?" The water that comes from your shield hydrant is actually incapable of affecting Link. I imagine this is to prevent you from burning yourself with flame emitter shields, but I couldn't get the water to put out my fire damage a single time after thirty minutes of testing. Standing against a wall, shield jumping in place, and every other goofy maneuver I could think of yielded nothing. I even tried dropping the shield on the ground and hitting it with my sword to see if the hydrant would turn on. It didn't. lmao "Why not use Chuchu Jelly to get Link wet and survive the fire?" This is another suggestion that sounds really viable at first glance. The problem is the scarce Chuchu Jelly population in the Depths. According to ZeldaDungeon's TOTK Interactive Map, there are only 7 blue Chuchus in the entire Depths, and they're all below Hyrule Castle. It took me over 30hrs of gameplay to find a single blue Chuchu. You can see in the video when I pick them up at 45:53 that it plays the "First time collection" animation for the jelly. To put this to rest once and for all, I even spent 90 minutes last night running around the Depths looking for them on foot. I didn't find a single blue Chuchu. This leads me to one of two conclusions: Either the map is right and there are only seven under Hyrule Castle, or they're so incredibly rare that I didn't find a single one in 30+hrs of exploration. Either way, that doesn't bode well for using them repeatedly to survive the fire area. I banned item duplication, so I'd need to be able to farm dozens of jellies for this to be viable. "Why not fuse an ice item to your weapon, such as Naydra's scales, ice jelly, etc.?" That only allows you to survive heat, not fire. The fire effect of Death Mountain and the Eldin Depths is different from normal heat. In the desert, you're pretty hot but are able to cool yourself off with cold objects like ice. In actual fire areas, the only two things that can protect you are water and the "Fireproof" status effect. That means you either need to be wearing a piece of fireproof armor, be under the effect of a fireproof elixir, or be actively dripping with water in order to avoid death in the fire area. I might edit this comment if more ideas are brought to my attention! The support and reception to this video so far has been absolutely wild, I'm so thankful that you all enjoyed the video! If there are enough theories/suggestions, I might just have to end up making a video where I address and test every solution and see if any of you have a better idea than dying 600 times. Because believe me, I'd use that idea in a heartbeat, ahaha. 💕
@@Artipup I only used a single fairy in the video, and it was for setup. After beating the Great Sky Island I warped to the Fuse Shrine and rode a wing to an island with water and three fairies. I grabbed one fairy and used it to survive the fall into the Depths. I didn’t use any fairies during the challenge itself. Hope this helps! 💕
@@yomama9390with such a low battery tank it’ll be very slow, and moving with that is going to be even slower than save scumming deaths as was done. Plus, there’s no way to get wild hydrants, and as said above they despawn if they’re taken far enough from the fire temple
Oh my gosh I just realised - in the Canon of this challenge rum, both Link and Zelda were technically missing the entire time! That's kind of a cool idea to me
Then rauru is like welp rip hyrule and then months later theres two dragons and then One explodes and then next thing rauru knows he s healing a drsgon that transforms into zelda
I love the implications for the rest of hyrule for this run. Link and Zelda disappear and then they are just GONE for maybe months. Nothing of note really happens, but the blood moons have stopped, which is good, but kinda worrying and OMG IS THAT A DRAGON? IS THAT TWO DRAGONS? WHAT ONE JUST EXPLODED! IS THE WORLD ENDING? wha-... LINK?!?! ZELDA!??! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEEEEEEN???
@@magicalmercy "Yeah, I was just wandering around. And then I found that evil mummy guy. Who suddenly wasn't a mummy anymore. And then we fought. And then there were suddenly dragons. I killed the mean looking dragon. Then the other one turned into Zelda. Then we were falling. And now we're here. Can you believe that Purah?"
Ill do you one better imagine link and zelda go missing for months while theres sky debris falling The gorons have became addicted to drugs the rito are starving to death slowly the king of the zoro has ALSO gone missing (atleastthey know where to look) and theres a huge sand shroud near the gerudos and blood moons stop which yeah is good and also WOAH WHY IS THERE 2 DRAGONS IN THE SKY ARE THEY GONNA ATTACK US AND WHA THE RED ONE EXPLODED IN A NUCLESR FRICKING EXPLOSION AND oh hi link and zelda
Don’t forget the full context of the quote: “*in his gamer rage* Ganon vores some jewelry and turns into his fursona” The first bit is very important and the rest of the quote might be misinterpreted without it, hope this helps!
I don't say this lightly, this is the best challenge run video I have ever seen 🎉👏👏 and I've seen a LOT of challenge runs The premise, the ruleset, your interpretation of those rules, your solutions.. and the video itself is wonderfully edited and written I have watched TH-cam chronically since 2011 and this seriously might be the single best gaming video I have ever seen. I cannot give you enough kudos, absolutely incredible!
@@Slasher7t47it's short for "sent me into a fit of laughter". Are you new to the internet, if so, welcome, we speak weird here because it's more fun than speaking correctly in our day jobs
This might be the best totk video I've seen. The premise was just dumb enough to work, and the theatre kid energy had the right balance between being entertaining, having a unique personality, and providing an actual arc/narrative. Never a dull moment, the running time flew by. The editing was great and the voice over was clean. I hope your efforts bring you the massive audience you deserve. Good luck. 👍
GAMING. Incredible work! You can see how an unique narrative starts to form through the gameplay restrictions of this playthrough. One of wandering, scarcity, and isolation, but also of determination, wonder, and fulfillment in just doing the thing. Again, GAMING.
THANK YOU! I worked really hard to create a narrative with this video. I wanted it to be more than just a set of rules and some gameplay. I wanted to tell a story, and it means a lot that the story was clear!
i mean this in the best way possible: 30:47 has the same tone of rage as alfred eggman in the dark story of sonic adventure two when he screams, "I'M BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN? OHH MY GOD I'M SO SICK OH NO THEY KNOW NOT AGAIN"
I don’t know why the first character name made me laugh so much 😂 I was expecting “the journey begins” something heroic but NOPE it’s “it’s fucking dark” ahhaha PERFECT
I have no clue why but the “Dreaming’s for LIBERALS, I’m getting myself a second shield right now.” line makes me laugh every time I hear it. There’s LOTS of good phrases in this video (and the new sequel to it) but I think that one is my favorite. There might be better quotes in here though, I wouldn’t know. I’ve watched this video so many times that now it helps me sleep, so I don’t watch through the whole thing. Snaps, wonderful videos you’ve got here on this channel! I love your humor and attitude, it’s ICONIC. You totally deserve more subs and likes. Thank you for the great content!!!
glad someone else appreciates how absolutely insane colgera is without the paraglider. My first run of the game I did without the paraglider (surprisingly that also means no mineru). Colgera was a nightmare I sat on for weeks, preparing and upgrading. I can't even imagine fighting it the way you did. mad props.
@@Pshixco It also means no phantom ganon at hyrule castle. mineru becomes active following the regional phenomenon quest. That quest can’t go live if you never activate the first tower, meaning you have to have the paraglider to activate the regional phenomenon quest.
I also did a run with no paraglider and the wind temple was the first thing I did sadly. I also did it with no cold clothing. It took a couple of hours and 1 zonai bike to get to the temple and the only reason I beat the boss was because of the extremely helpful bouncy boats circling the temple.
Incredible video. I'm honestly fascinated with your witty commentary. I genuinely laughed a lot during this. I mean the fire area alone... THE GODDAMN FIRE AREA!!! I was hooked from beginning to the end, such a great video. And huge thanks for the subtitles!
Like Orpheus reaching for Eurydice after traversing the Underworld for his lost love.... A test of strength of one's will and dedication. Beautiful run, and delightful commentary.
I think it's kinda funny how you just completely ignored the existence of the yiga schematics, cause they literally just spawn with zonai devices attached to them including hydrants and cooking pots and you only need zonaite to make them💀
I forgot to say: great job on the subtitles!! a lot of people don't really bother but an accessibility tool is always appreciated, it takes work and it paid off :)
I think it’s poetic that at the end of all it, the trials and tribulations, the breakthroughs and the breakdowns, you went from never being on the surface, to diving towards it while you reach for Zelda. Lore wise link wouldn’t even know what’s happening when he gets swept up by the light dragon. The reveal that she was Zelda transformed as you both plummet while the clips of the past 3 months play in the background. Truly breathtaking
I was sick yesterday and decided to watch this video on a whim. It was the only thing that made me feel better lmao, what a satisfying ride. I cannot believe you only have 4k subscribers, I genuinely believed this was the work of a huge TH-camr. Subscribed and definitely looking forward to more, thank you for the laughs while I was stuck in bed
I think I’m most surprised that a panic blood moon didn’t happen at any point. Blood moons fascinate me and I wonder if there have been any mods that remove them. Like, how screwed up would the game get lol. Either way I just love the limited resource concept and I wonder if it would’ve been possible to clear out every single enemy in the Depths here
if you go into a shrine on a bloodmoon night and leave after 12am, it doesn’t happen. at least it works in botw, idk if it works in totk. learned that when croton did his killing all enemies challenge
@@yaaaaarn Yes, but when the game is using up too much memory, it forces a blood moon, regardless of your location or time of day. Easiest way to force it is to shoot gem arrows from a multishot bow at rocks in the depths while in bullet time.
@@thegrimlockreaper1279 ya know, i've never had a blood moon force itself, aka a panic moon. though, i've never overloaded the game with glitches before. it's something i'll definitely have to try out sometime!
Every time I visit totk and fight ganon it’s still amazing. The music the SFX the challenge the cutscenes all of it still gives me chills even the final fall to save Zelda it’s. All. Beautiful.
Loving this video but just want to say: REALLY APPRECIATE ACCURATE SUBTITLES. It makes it really easy to pay attention and follow! Thanks so much for doing that!
I was *so* sure Hydrants would be the answer to the heat. Normally this would be a Catch-22 kinda situation where you would want an Hydrant to get Link wet in order to have about 30 seconds of immunity to Eldin's volcanic heat, but the only area in the Depths where you can get Hydrants is Eldin itself. However there's a workaround thanks to 3 Yiga Schematics that contain Hydrants as part of the build: the Charged Charger, the Sprinkler System, and the Rainmaker. And they all can be found in non-scorching areas. The idea would be to get one of these Schematics, Autobuild it, and modify it a little in order to have a simple build that will douse Link on command and just carry it around until reaching the remaining Lightroots in Eldin. Alternatively, you can use 4 Big Wheels, a Steering Stick, and a long stone slab to build the typical all-terrain vehicle one can find around the game and attach an Hydrant to it that will sprinkle Link with water while he drives around Eldin's Depths. edit: typos
That was an amazing watch. Thank you for documenting your arduous journey. I'm amazed at how you found so many ways to break the game to progress to end and still keep your sanity mostly in check.
You're also the first person to document the fact that using recall on an object negates you taking fall damage while landing with it (you were showing it in reference to keeping your hoverbike from flipping out, but I still count it) I discovered this during my paraglider-less run but I didn't see anyone else talk about it until this video
I was so proud of myself for knowing this obscure piece of trivia from Gamechamp3000's no-pause challenge run of BOTW: you can cancel the fire effect caused by superheated air by starting a charged spin attack with a two-handed weapon. You still slowly lose HP since you have to take a tick of damage when the fire starts, but it lets you get much farther. Then I figured I ought to test it on TOTK just to make sure before I posted it. THEY PATCHED IT. Why?????? Who at Nintendo dug up this obscure useless detail and patch it out for TOTK????
I almost never comment on video's but I have to this that this is one of the best edited challenge video's I've ever seen. You really strung us along for the journel and the jokes are really good. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of you!
This playthrough is just so good. There's no 'oof' or overdone sound effects, no reliance on slurs or derogatory language for clout, you should make more videos and trust in your abilities because it's proper stuff and not just 'content'.
42:49 For reference, that's only a 0.3% chance for a chunk of blue rock to drop an elemental ore - or _1 out of 333._ Granted, that's for each singular chunk, and there are tons in a cluster. But even then, that number isn't anywhere near 333, so this was an INSANELY lucky coincidence
this video. is fucking. AWESOME. i clicked on it as i was getting ready for class, loved the commentary and went to subscribe, and was genuinely SHOCKED to see that you didn’t have like 100k+ subs. the quality of this vid is INCREDIBLE, the fact that it took months of work and you widdled it down to be an hour long with not a SECOND wasted is amazing and makes for such a rewarding watch experience. your commentary is so lively and refreshing and fun to listen to, to the point where i was giggling out loud without even seeing the screen. also your dedication to this challenge is nuts. i subscribed before i was even half way through, and this is for sure my new favorite video to binge over and over
The Chapter 4 Segment where you realised what you have to do to endure the heat was unironcly so freaking cool. I genuinely didn't see that coming and the delivery was on 🦆ing point man. Edit: I had to see it a second time. The confused rambling into the "wait the last point where I saved?" sounded so genuin as if you used a clip of you genuinly just realizing it. Atleast that'e how I act when in a similare situation. Also Rude Buster is the most goated "Bad scene turns out good" track of all time. Edit 2: Ok that running joke about walking turning on it's head was so unexpected that I spit out my sprite
This reminds me of a challenge I did in Hollow Knight where I did everything that's possible to do without entering the City of Tears, the largest area in the game. You may not be able to beat the game, but you can meet the requirements for the true ending. However, not being allowed in the City means you cannot upgrade your weapon, making boss fights MUCH longer.
Awesome challenge! How do you access Kingdom's Edge? Through Deepnest, get the tram pass, then take the tram through Basin and come up through the area with the hive?
i had to do a double take when i saw your subscriber count holy hell you’re underrated!!! i stumbled across your video randomly and was totally hooked until the end!!!! this was a really really enjoyable watch, all of your humor really hit the right spot for me and this was such a good video!! mad props for doing something like this and sticking with it, this was brilliant! cant wait for more :)
this was awesome thank you. and actually, there’rs a fanfic on ao3 where link is absolutely restricted to just the depths cause he immediately falls there after the losing zelda. so this is like the actualization of that fic 😂
This is definitely one of the more creative ways I've seen someone finish this game. The dedication to do a run like this and make an entertaining video of it is just phenomenal.
Love your subtitles! Subtitles for a video this long take a long time to do, and the italics for emphasis really add to them, so I appreciate the time investment! Excellent work by AinsArt!
Thank you! That means a lot to me! While my identity isn't the focus of my content, it's certainly a factor in everything I create. I hope I can provide a safe space for people to enjoy apolitical video game challenges without worrying about a surprise slur or sus take. We need more casually trans and queer creators making content not just about our struggles, but our interests as well. We deserve to enjoy ourselves and relax just like everybody else.
I am so beyond impressed with everything you were able to do! I would have never figured someone could do all that in the depths starting with nothing. Really incredible.
With SimplySnaps repeatedly saying 'I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO' at the end of chapter 3 I can't help but feel it was a lost opportunity to not have chapter 4 titled 'What to do.' or at the very least I would have found it amusing. As a side note, I have actually also discovered a variety of that glitch, though more along the lines of saving and loading to skip the dying part, yet still reset the heat death timer. Another way to potentially survive, off the top of my head, is using the fire hydrants at the fire temple and making an autobuild blueprint with them, but, well, there are plenty of problems with that idea too. Limited battery, difficulties getting there in the first place, and just general tediousness. Anyhoo, lovely video.
I actually have a couple of suggestions that would've made your playthrough a lot easier. I haven't watched the entire video so there could be a chance I'm saying something that you already know. First, in terms of healing, you've got two options that I have't seen you use so far in the video. There is a healing spring underneath the shrine of resurrection in the depths and you can heal hearts from cooking dubious food. Luckily, making dubious food is incredibly cheap and heals a surprisingly good amount of hearts (in the context of the food scarcity in the depths). You can easily make one dubious dish that heals a full heart from cooking a single boko fang (or any other monster part). These resources are incredibly abundent. You can say they aren't infinite since there is no blood moon to respawn the bokos (idk if stals respawn every blood moon or every night), but if you really wanted an infinite source of portable healing, you do have wood which respawns if you leave the area and come back to it but they only heal a quarter of a heart when you cook it. Your only limit is the amount of meals you can hold in your inventory. Second, there is actually one more hydrant that isn't in fire region and conveniently, it's by other zonai devices so you can build a traveling device that keeps you wet at all time, save it to your autobuild, and use it to traverse the scorching hot depths easily. The hydrant is found underneath hyrule castle in the area right before you face the gloom hands (To your left at this area @ 45:50). From what I've seen, you've managed to make it to the light root underneath the castle so I don't think that'll be an issue. Also when you're wet, you are given a generous fire immunity for around a minute and 15 seconds from my testing. Third, opals are also a good source of water. You can easily get opals from killing taluses and ore deposits (Im pretty sure there are ore deposits in the depths). you can use fuse opals to a weapon and use the water balls to hit the mucktorock (or attach opals to an arrow, but make sure you don't hit yourself from the opal splash). You can also use opals as a substitute for splash fruit/chu chu jelly when roaming scorching hot areas. If you throw on the ground near yourself, it wets you but it does do 2 and half hearts of damage regardless of armor. However, you can now easily heal using the first tip I mentioned. Fourth, for seized construct she's def a pain in the ass, but soldiers broadsword + ice lizal tail are a LIFESAVER. This fusion makes you life 10x easier since you can actually freeze seized construct with ice and you have the added benefit of the extra range. The ice tail fusion also won't break on you randomly compared to the spear fusion you used. It's super helpful since it will render any and all attacks from seized construct frozen in place, no need to worry about finding the right opening just run up to her and hit her anytime and she'll be frozen. Soldiers broadsword is nice since it charges much faster than regular swords. SUPER helpful fusion against her. Ice lizalfoes are usually found underneath the gerudo highlands. you can also use electric lizal tails so to instead save durability from breaking the ice and then smacking seized contruct against the wall, but I personally prefer ice lizal tail. Lastly, royal spears are super overpowered against phantom ganon/ganondorf. Even better if you get the pristine versions. To get the pristine royal spear, make sure you break at least one royal spear and go up to the soldier ghosts either the gerudo highlands or the hebra region (I personally perfer going to the gerudo highlands since I find pristine knights, royal and royal guards weapons). To give you some context, lets assume we got a pristine royal spear with a lynel saber horn. That's 54.75 damage (with the 0.75 damage nerf to spears). If you flurry rush, you get double damage so, 109.5 per hit. From my testing, you get 11 hits from a spear flurry so 1204.5 damage for a single flurry rush. Pair that with level 3 attack up and you got 1805.75 damage for every flurry rush you get. Alternatively, you can fuse a stalnox horn (since that's the most powerful bone fusion that is only found in the depths) to a pristine royal spear, pair it with level 3 attack up and wear the phantom ganon armor and you essentially get 2093.85 damage for every flurry rush. Keep in mind phase 1 ganon is 2500 hp, and phase 2 ganon is 5000 hp and he gets rid of his ganondorf clones once you deal 2500 damage to him. If you manage to get a high enough attack up modifer on the pristine spear you essentially need to land 3 flurry rushes against ganondorf to kill him. I've manage to do this, but I forget exactly how much the attack up modifer was to get to the 2500 damage mark (maybe it was attack up +8? idk). You can either get attack up modifers from rock octorocks (but those don't count since they aren't in the depths) or if you gotten enough XP from killing enemies and doing the dungeon bosses. However, I'm not too sure if it's required to do the dungeon bosses to get attack up modifiers on pristine weapons, but I predict that defeating the dungeon bosses isn't necessary for the modifers, I think it's only if you get enough XP. All of these tips should be applicable based on your challenge run rules, since everything can be found in the depths. Make sure you use the totk object map to it's full potential. I'm assuming that you used it, but you can find literally search up every single rock location in totk, that's how comprehensive it is. It's has a learning curve to it, but once you figure it out you can practically find anything in totk.
Ya know, I've gotten this comment like three times, and it always makes me laugh. I must be terrible background noise! But I'm glad to hear I'm really good foreground noise. Thanks so much for enjoying the video, and for the kind words!
this was a trip, probably one of the most dedicated videos ive seen so far of totk, nice job dude, hope it blows up and more people find this gem of an art
Omg I loved this video. I just found your channel through recommendations and your dedication to finishing this is mindboggling. May the algorithm gods bless your channel!
also - thank you for the legit captions!!! just having the auto ones on can be SO confusing with my audio processing disorder and having the accurate captioning makes a huge difference. def got a sub!!
Epic! I kept expecting you to use a hydrant for Eldin, but you managed without. Mind blown 😂. Great editing. The final montage, or whatever it’s called, during the fall, was gorgeous! I’ve played this game for hundreds of hours, but I cannot imagine doing this. GG!
I was thinking Hydrants would be inaccessible, but don't non-elemental Chuchus spawn in the depths, which drop jelly that acts like Splash Fruit and ALSO make you wet, delaying the fire damage even further? Edit: yeah they spawn in the Hyrule Castle Depths as of later in the challenge but I swear I've seen them elsewhere, is that not the case though? 🤔
When I was working on my breath of the wild min max challenge I heavily used dying in extreme temperatures to give myself more hearts. Nice job figuring out the exploit on your own!
Watching this I thought for SURE you had at least 100k subscribers. I’ve found the single most underrated youtuber ever! Your pacing is perfect, your jokes are funny, and the editing is superb. Can’t wait to see more from you!
What an AMAZING, entertaining and interesting video! Let me tell you it was well worth the effort! I have two points to address: 1. You didn't have to use a fairy to go into the depths. There are two wells which lead to the depths and right below them is water. I'm pretty sure you can reach both wells with the two wings next to the Recall Shrine. 2. For surviving the lava area the best option (besides fireproof clothing/elixir) is water. If Link is wet, he can survive for a pretty long time in this extreme heat. If you have a hydrant you can just carry it with you and activate it once per minute or so. The problem is that most hydrants in the depth are already inside the lava area (the only exception is a single one right before the final boss). But you could have reached the hydrants with the save/reload method and from then on used them to complete the rest of the lightroots and the colosseum.
Not even halfway through and already love the video and channel. I subscribed on TH-cam and followed on Twitch. Even in the intro I could have sworn the editting was that of a channel with several thousand subscribers. I am so glad the algorithm recommended this to me. The vibe is immaculate. The jokes and pacing and editing are all so good. I am so extremely excited to see you grow as a creator!!
This was my introduction to your channel and through this beautiful hour we’ve spent together, I can officially say you’re one of my favourite TH-camrs. Amazing content!!!!!
This was a cinematic masterpiece worthy of an Oscar with multiple plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat, masterful storytelling and editing, and a beautiful ending!!!
Thank you!!! I was super inspired by Sample's challenge videos, especially his Hollow Knight Pacifist Run. But I like to think I injected quite a bit of myself into it as well.
instant subscribe. i clicked on this video for something to listen to while doing some data entry at work but uhhh whoops i haven’t done anything in a solid hour. i was TRANSFIXED. absolutely amazing work on this video!! i can’t wait to see what else you’ve done 💕
Incredible run and phenomenal editing. I may love floating islands, but some of the most fun I had in TotK was flying around the depths on my hoverbike with little more than a brightbloom leadlamp for light. Before using the bike everywhere (and getting enough battery), it also give some fun experiences just from trying to find safe paths up gloomed walls. Making safe landings with the bike is a very valuable skill, especially when using it as the primary form of transportation.
A solution to the fire could be to find a naturally spawning hydrant and fusing any item with it, this makes it avalible with auto build to be spawned anywhere with zonaite, you are only limited by your charge but staying wet gives you i believe 20 seconds of resistance
what is this? even videos from youtuber with millions of subs are worse than this masterpiece. amazing editing, narration, and idea for a video. love it. We need to get this guy to at least 10k subs
thank you so much for subtitling this entire video by the way. that, along with the high quality editing, storytelling, and gameplay have definitely earned my sub, you're excellent! keep it up :)
I’m so glad you figured out a solution. It’s how I initially got to Goron City in BotW - every time you load a save your “on fire/too cold/too hot” timer restarts, so I did pretty much the same as you 😂
Super cool! Found this after your “sky” video, and I liked this one just as much. For anyone interested in trying this here’s a time save- the all purpose raft you get from a yiga schematic has a cooking pot attached. A zonai one, so it’s unfortunately one use only, but if you need a meal quick and have the zonaite that’s another option
The challenge ending with you being thrust out of the depths, with a climactic boss fight in the sky with dragons, then crashing down to the surface after saving Zelda, being the first time you set foot on the surface and gazed into the sunlight. Broken free from your prison in the Depths, thrown back to where you came from in the Sky, and landing down where you finally belong on the Surface. Poetic.
had to sub for the dedication to the craft, this was amazing and funnily enough i’ve started the video with me thinking oh i wanna do this challenge and as i kept watching it slowly turned into i dont think i want to do this actually, mad respect for u tho and loved the correct amount of how much “in-depth” (badum tss, i’ll see myself out) you go into details and explaining things, this video was both entertaining & informative oh also happy new year!
@@SimplySnaps me too, i just had to show solidarity for a fellow zelda gremlin, im currently doing a run and my rules are: -only 4 hearts -do all dungeons -only save at Shrines/Roots and if you die you reload the save at last shrine/root -only consume elixirs for heals and buffs -outfit upgrades are optional (personally not upgrading mine oh also im not going out of my to unlock more korok slots either unless the korok is in my way and i find myself near hestu) - and this for me No hoverbike this time around lmao! it’s a run somewhat inspired by Elden Ring after i have done absolutely everything in totk, so it’s stand-in for the master mode we never got
This was fantastic! The editing was so clean, every joke landed, and you have proven yourself a True Gamer. Shocked to see you don't have more subs. I'll be eagerly waiting for more.
This video made me tear up. I absolutely adore this game and love watching everyone experience it in different ways. I've been avoiding finishing it because i don't want it to end but i might try this challenge on another playthrough. Great video
When I first started watching this I assumed you were a several thousand subscriber channel. However I now learn that you ONLY have about 900 subs. This video is not only high quality but high dedication as well. I hope to see more from this channel.
This video is absolutely amazing! Even as someone who played the game so many times but your editing for the final battle and saving zelda still made me tear up.
this was such a great video and I am shocked you don't have more subs; you goddamn deserve them after THIS challenge. I never actually finished TotK, so this has given me a bit of motivation to go back and finish it properly. If i do, it becomes the first Zelda game I've actually reached the end of! Will update this comment if that ever happens
I actually attempted this challenge and completed it and ai have a few tips. 1) Muddle buds can be cooked into dubious food which does indeed fill a whole heart. 2) Opals, which you’ve probably picked, up can be used as water damage for Muctorock. 3) Fire area solution other than save spam which worked great: The water effect actually lasts 30 seconds after the water source stops and, you have to save spam there, but there are hydrants in some water which, using the extra 30 seconds, can be turned on and off for an effect that can go on forever, and dubious food can help.
Genuinely beautiful video. I love challenge runs and your editing style and pacing for this was fantastic. I was shocked to see you < 1k subs. Well done, you deserve a lot more attention as a content creator.
this is awesome, you deserve a lot more views, i remember seeing the same challenge but the guy threw all away and cheated most of it just to do a 10 minute challenge, this was something else, im suscribing, i like how you edit your videos, they are pretty well done
Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for watching! I've gotten a few comments suggesting alternative solutions to the fire area, so I figured I'd address them in a pinned comment instead of replying to everyone individually. Let me tackle the big ones:
"Why didn't you use a hydrant?"
Hydrants don't drop from either of the device dispensers in the depths, meaning the only ones I have access to are the naturally generated hydrants in/near the fire temple. If the hydrant is already turned on, that means it's got infinite battery. This definitely seems like a solution, but after extensive testing I found that walking the hydrant too far from its initial spawn point automatically despawns the hydrant, even if you're carrying it.
"Why not fuse the hydrant to your shield?"
The water that comes from your shield hydrant is actually incapable of affecting Link. It didn't. lmao
"Why not use Chuchu Jelly to get Link wet and survive the fire?"
This is another suggestion that sounds really viable at first glance.
"Why not fuse an ice item to your weapon, such as Naydra's scales, ice jelly, etc.?"
That only allows you to survive heat, not fire.
This was pretty fun to watch but like where did you find your fairies? I want to try this out myself but I haven’t seen any of them
@@Artipup I only used a single fairy in the video, and it was for setup. After beating the Great Sky Island I warped to the Fuse Shrine and rode a wing to an island with water and three fairies. I grabbed one fairy and used it to survive the fall into the Depths. I didn’t use any fairies during the challenge itself. Hope this helps! 💕

What's wrong with autobuilding a hydrant attached to some random thing with your nigh unlimited zonaite supply to have one on demand anywhere
@@yomama9390with such a low battery tank it’ll be very slow, and moving with that is going to be even slower than save scumming deaths as was done. Plus, there’s no way to get wild hydrants, and as said above they despawn if they’re taken far enough from the fire temple

glad someone else appreciates how absolutely insane colgera is without the paraglider. My first run of the game I did without the paraglider (surprisingly that also means no mineru). Colgera was a nightmare I sat on for weeks, preparing and upgrading. I can't even imagine fighting it the way you did. mad props.
Wait, why does no paraglider mean no Mineru?
@@Pshixco It also means no phantom ganon at hyrule castle. mineru becomes active following the regional phenomenon quest. That quest can’t go live if you never activate the first tower, meaning you have to have the paraglider to activate the regional phenomenon quest.
@@cakedo9810 You don't need to complete hyrule castle to find mineru.
@emidemi7211 No, but for whatever reason you do need to begin the Regional Phenomena quest, which requires getting the paraglider.
I also did a run with no paraglider and the wind temple was the first thing I did sadly. I also did it with no cold clothing. It took a couple of hours and 1 zonai bike to get to the temple and the only reason I beat the boss was because of the extremely helpful bouncy boats circling the temple.

Daaaaang that’s poetic man
I think it's kinda funny how you just completely ignored the existence of the yiga schematics, cause they literally just spawn with zonai devices attached to them including hydrants and cooking pots and you only need zonaite to make them💀
I forgot to say: great job on the subtitles!! a lot of people don't really bother but an accessibility tool is always appreciated, it takes work and it paid off :)

Did anyone else stumble on this video and straight up watch the entire thing in one go, haha, brilliant.
Alternatively, you can use 4 Big Wheels, a Steering Stick, and a long stone slab to build the typical all-terrain vehicle one can find around the game and attach an Hydrant to it that will sprinkle Link with water while he drives around Eldin's Depths.
edit: typos
Oh my god the schemastones completely skipped my mind.
ooh. I like hte idea of building a car with a hydrant that, just, constantly soaks you. That amuses me. But it'd probably work. :)
Also, can't you get spark emitters?
I'm asking because if it is you can use a hydrant fuse glitch to clip in newer versions.
Just attach a sapphire or Naydra part to your shield. The extreme heat is completely combatted.
@@alexesloan8325 That only works for Heat areas, not Fire areas, doesn't it?

I was so proud of myself for knowing this obscure piece of trivia from Gamechamp3000's no-pause challenge run of BOTW: you can cancel the fire effect caused by superheated air by starting a charged spin attack with a two-handed weapon. You still slowly lose HP since you have to take a tick of damage when the fire starts, but it lets you get much farther. Then I figured I ought to test it on TOTK just to make sure before I posted it. THEY PATCHED IT. Why?????? Who at Nintendo dug up this obscure useless detail and patch it out for TOTK????

The Chapter 4 Segment where you realised what you have to do to endure the heat was unironcly so freaking cool. I genuinely didn't see that coming and the delivery was on 🦆ing point man.

This was a fantastically fun time! Your editing and storytelling is on-point. This made me fall in love with TOTK all over again.
You can't get Pristine Royal Weapons because those can only spawn on the following blood moons after breaking them, no?
50:45 Aww c'mon, don't tell me you don't wanna go to the wonderful city of chaos! Lol

also - thank you for the legit captions!!! just having the auto ones on can be SO confusing with my audio processing disorder and having the accurate captioning makes a huge difference. def got a sub!!
The fire coliseum with hopes and dreams playing was so epic, and the ruby from the beginning coming in clutch. Perfect.
What an AMAZING, entertaining and interesting video! Let me tell you it was well worth the effort!
I have two points to address:
I think he wanted to go from sky to depths without ever touching the surface.
@@Zlee533 You can fall down these well without touching the surface
@@SeeTv. No like, she didn't want the map for the surface loading in. Would going down the well make the map tigger?
@@tripplel8495 If you dive through the hole of the well the map shouldn't trigger since it only does if Link stands on the surface
Loved this. Bravo buddy
I understand him not using dubious food.
I still have flashbacks to shoveling several tons of coal into links mouth during MM trial of the sword.
This was my introduction to your channel and through this beautiful hour we’ve spent together, I can officially say you’re one of my favourite TH-camrs. Amazing content!!!!!
This was a cinematic masterpiece worthy of an Oscar with multiple plot twists that kept me on the edge of my seat, masterful storytelling and editing, and a beautiful ending!!!
this is one of the best zelda videos, as well as one of the best gaming challenge videos i’ve ever seen. keep it up!!
Thank you!!! I was super inspired by Sample's challenge videos, especially his Hollow Knight Pacifist Run. But I like to think I injected quite a bit of myself into it as well.
Best thing said was "I play video games instead of having sex"
instant subscribe. i clicked on this video for something to listen to while doing some data entry at work but uhhh whoops i haven’t done anything in a solid hour. i was TRANSFIXED. absolutely amazing work on this video!! i can’t wait to see what else you’ve done 💕
Making safe landings with the bike is a very valuable skill, especially when using it as the primary form of transportation.
this video brought me a lot more joy than i expected and im still not even done with it yet
You could actually panic bloodmoon in the skull lake area in the depths to restore resources and enemies
This is easily one of the best TOTK videos I've ever seen. Bravo
A solution to the fire could be to find a naturally spawning hydrant and fusing any item with it, this makes it avalible with auto build to be spawned anywhere with zonaite, you are only limited by your charge but staying wet gives you i believe 20 seconds of resistance
this was one of the best legend of zelda video I have ever watched and you deserve more recognition
that section at the end where youre reliving the challenge while catching zelda with amazing music gave me chills
what is this? even videos from youtuber with millions of subs are worse than this masterpiece. amazing editing, narration, and idea for a video. love it. We need to get this guy to at least 10k subs
thank you so much for subtitling this entire video by the way. that, along with the high quality editing, storytelling, and gameplay have definitely earned my sub, you're excellent! keep it up :)
I could really feel your sense of joy and accomplishment by the end of this video. Congratulations!
I’m so glad you figured out a solution. It’s how I initially got to Goron City in BotW - every time you load a save your “on fire/too cold/too hot” timer restarts, so I did pretty much the same as you 😂
Watching this again because it really is an amazing challenge video! You worked so hard on this and we can tell. Incredible job snappy!
I smell an underrated gem. This is incredible. HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBS!?
The challenge ending with you being thrust out of the depths, with a climactic boss fight in the sky with dragons, then crashing down to the surface after saving Zelda, being the first time you set foot on the surface and gazed into the sunlight.
Broken free from your prison in the Depths, thrown back to where you came from in the Sky, and landing down where you finally belong on the Surface. Poetic.
had to sub for the dedication to the craft, this was amazing and funnily enough i’ve started the video with me thinking oh i wanna do this challenge and as i kept watching it slowly turned into i dont think i want to do this actually,
mad respect for u tho and loved the correct amount of how much “in-depth” (badum tss, i’ll see myself out) you go into details and explaining things, this video was both entertaining & informative
oh also happy new year!
Happy New Year, Neo! Glad we could spend it together.
@@SimplySnaps me too, i just had to show solidarity for a fellow zelda gremlin, im currently doing a run and my rules are:
-only 4 hearts
-do all dungeons
-only save at Shrines/Roots and if you die you reload the save at last shrine/root
-only consume elixirs for heals and buffs
-outfit upgrades are optional (personally not upgrading mine oh also im not going out of my to unlock more korok slots either unless the korok is in my way and i find myself near hestu)
- and this for me No hoverbike this time around lmao!
it’s a run somewhat inspired by Elden Ring after i have done absolutely everything in totk, so it’s stand-in for the master mode we never got
I absolutely love your scriptwriting and voice over, absolutely amazing video
You deserve so many more subscribers bro, this video is a masterpiece.
(Survive the Sky with nothing? Hahah, no, that'd be impossible.)
Me after playing through it for 220 hours in one playthrough just doing everything
Man i love this final boss SO MUCH, GREAT VIDEO!!!
this was such a great video and I am shocked you don't have more subs; you goddamn deserve them after THIS challenge. I never actually finished TotK, so this has given me a bit of motivation to go back and finish it properly. If i do, it becomes the first Zelda game I've actually reached the end of! Will update this comment if that ever happens
You can do it! Please let me know if you do!
@@SimplySnaps i certainly will!
Comments like this are why I make art! I really put a lot of work into the style and pacing, it means so much to me that people noticed.
The saving technique made me actually beat the shrines near the cold areas in botw.
this is awesome, you deserve a lot more views, i remember seeing the same challenge but the guy threw all away and cheated most of it just to do a 10 minute challenge, this was something else, im suscribing, i like how you edit your videos, they are pretty well done
Thanks so much, Alex! I'm really glad you liked it!
@@SimplySnaps Its been a while since i've played totk, after seeing this i'll maybe try something similar, i want to replay it again
i love this video and i cant help coming back to watch it
