You can still buy one refurbished from Canon for $599, when they have sales. I recently replaced a Sony A6400 as my travel mirrorless camera a with the RP. It is great value esp as primarily a photo shooter.
This was my first camera that got me started in photography. It's been through two years of abuse as I learned how to care for it and use it, but I never had any issues. I just upgraded to a Fujifilm X-T5 because I wanted a higher megapixel count for editing but I'm definitely keeping my RP as a backup!
Nice deal! I just found an RP with the RF 24-240mm lens in a pawn shop for $700 today. The guy dropped it to $600 out the door for me, talk about a steal! I can get $700 for the lens I dont want or need, which means I basically got the RP for free. It looks brand new and has less than 2k on the shutter. So there are some nice deals out there if you look. Absolutely worth it in 2024 for the right price.
Got mine for 220€ with adapter. (430€ with a 18-135mm IS USM lens that I already had and other accesory so I sold both). Is easy to use and compact, which makes it a very good travel camera. I am struggling to get nice video footage using Cinestyle to increase the dynamic range, but if you are not very peaky with the quality and get this camera for cheap, go for it.
Id suggest the infamous Panasonic GH5. You can get them under $600 now. Absolute steal. Put the other $900 into a nice lens or two. M43 lenses are considerably cheaper.
Can you suggest a full frame camera with good autofocus bright viewfinder and good LCD screen .. no video. I am not interested in video at all.. just good quality photo graphy...
Nobody’s shooting a movie with a hybrid camera so who cares about slow motion and 4k crop? None of these weird vloggers will look any better in 10 bit, either 🤪 I don’t have the RP, but use a REAL video cam for your video instead of an entry level hybrid. I heard NOTHING about actual photography, dynamic range, etc lol nuts
Incredible camera. Its been my main camera for Real Estate/Portrait/Product photography and has very rarely let me down
that's awesome to hear! I still love it as well
