"Hypothetical situation: your god orders you to enter your nearest maternity ward and start slashing the throats of the newborns therein. Will you obey?" Put this question to Xians to show them their moral sickness. They don't want to say no. (That's disobedience, which is what they call a 'sin'). That would mean they can no longer claim to base their morality "on God's will." They just disobeyed a direct command! _Their_ will is in the driver's seat. _Their_ will is the ultimate arbiter of morality. So they often say, "God wouldn't do that." But that's Man judging God, which is _also_ taboo. It green-lights anyone to note all the biblical slavery, torture and carnage by God's hand & command and _righteously_ judge God (and Jesus via trinitarianism) to be a malevolent, malicious, mass murdering monster. Plus, God _does_ do that; all through the bible: orders people to go kill others, including babies. So if "God wouldn't do that" then the bible _slanders_ God! The scary thing is how many Xians immediately give the only non-hypocritical answer without qualm: "Yes, I would obey." Sick!
If someone is in a church that tells you God wants you to kill people, get out immediately and contact the police. God is the creator of life. He commands us to choose life and live. I follow God because of who He is, and He is the creator of life who conquered death at the cross. Unfortunately through history at times people have used blind obedience to the church leadership to do evil. I have covered some of those stories in this podcast and will cover more in the future. Thank you for listening to the podcast.
