Shocked we playing this well with all these injuries I honestly looked at the lineup and thought we not winning this no out and out striker and 2 CDM playing as centre backs but love how they keep surprising me

At least three more goals could have been scored if this simple piece of advice was followed: You are running, and all of a sudden it is only you and the goal keeper. If you are near the center (goal posts are 24' apart) the goal keeper cannot cover large width and you blast the ball into one of the two corners. But what do you do if you r positioned with an acute (sharp) angle to the goal. What do you then? U have just a fraction of a second to decide. In every case in this match, our guys tried to shoot through the goal keeper, who was sliding toward them ("closing the angles") and again and again our guys lost those duels. Now, there is another option: Do not panic, let the goal keeper do his thing ("sliding defense"), u will make one or two extra steps to the side (choose the empty space-side to go around the sliding goal keeper) and then score with the strong kick into the empty goal.
Finally Reading beat Middlesbrough for the first time in a long time and Reading rock!

He slid in on the GK (2 footed it looks) after the GK had taken into his hands. It's fine margins but definitely a foul / dangerous.

The player by the name Crooks (!) went with both feet into the ball-Luke's hands-Luke's head bundle. Luke was slightly hurt. He is lucky that he did not come out as a head-trauma patient. Your problem is that u're skewed, u only want your team to win, at any cost. You have a luxury to be stupid, selfish etc., but the people, who govern the sport cannot be like that; They must safeguard the public. If you think like that (common good goal) then you must PROTECT GOAL KEEPERS in this case, as protentional sufferers. It is not about, what Crooks did ("challenging-confronting the keeper"), but about the high probability that the keeper could have ended up as paralyzed invalid. Ultra dangerous play, resulting in a perfect red card.
I think, this post had to be written, because after every game there is always that one looser-fan, who complains about 'innocent tackle' (outlawing tackling) punished with a red card or penalty kick. In countries with long democratic tradition, you practically never see fist fights. For that u have to thank the law, which those "Ultimate Fighter" type of fights treat as an "attempted murder" charge. Nobody died, but in the eyes of the law - it is not about what u actually did, but the society is choosing to focus onto - what such deed could have resulted into. Ultimately it is about in what kind of society we would like to live. In English football there are more severe injuries than in American football, where the players are twice as large, but they r better protected. Crooks was going with his METAL CLEATS directly onto Luke's UNPROTECTED wrists-elbows-head.
