- We have a great Fender combination for you all today, a 1973 Telecaster Custom and a 1966 Princeton Reverb! The guitar features a standard Tele bridge pickup and a humbucker in the neck, and an old dark metallic refin. It plays wonderfully all the way up the neck and has tons of classic Telecaster twang, as you'll hear when Karl plugs things in for a demo with the Princeton!

I got a RI from this series, I like it. And this Tele is so pretty among my other ladies... 🎉❤
Good job Karl! Sounds great
America - Lonely People ✌🏻
I own a similar year custom and also the American Orig Tele custom in Mocha, it is scary how well they nailed the feel and tone of the orig, dare I say it is a better playing and sounding guitar?
Yeah Carl
Thanks! Yeah, they still roll me out sometimes when Aaron and Nick aren't around...those two boys set the bar awfully high, that's for sure! :)
I have a later model MIM tele looks like the same colour. Mine is called "Midnight Wine" burgundy colour.
Why is Fender upside down on that pickup? Sweet sounding guitar 🤘🏻
El señor amplificador
Neck Pickup is Upside down. Installed incorrectly after refinishing? Or did the former owner like the way it sounds better? WooF!!
I mean, they're a symmetrical pickup, so it'll sound the same either way up. But good spot, I didn't notice at all
At 1:55 you can see the alignment is really off on the low E too, IDK if the 2 are related.
Can we get something besides Tele's and Strat's? I usually don't watch the majority of these videos. I can't remember the last time I saw a Mustang or Jaguar on here.
I see anything Fender and I click lol
Gatecreeper!!!
My first guitar, still have it. Great neck, bridge PU is ok for clean and some slight grind but can get squirrely with too much over drive or distortion. The neck PU....crap. I would not pay one dime over the original sale price for this model. I see them in the thousands and laugh.
Most tone is in the player. 🤷♂️
@@fuzzboi2712 "Most tone" might be pushing it. A players talent, skill and energy certainly do make up a substantial amount of of the sound. But at the end of the day, do you think that same person is going to sound better playing on crap equipment than on good equipment? Of course they will always sound better playing on the best gear. I rest my case.
Must be a defective neck pickup. They certainly aren't "crap".
