    I loved this movie! There are so many little things that make the movie hysterical, like when Rico's van runs over the Tupperware to show how strong the plastic is. But it isn't so it shatters, and the driver just drives off instead of trying to finish the sale, lol. I can't remember who was driving the van. Kip maybe? The reason for the smile across Kip's face is because Uncle Rico tried the machine beforehand to the same bad result, and therefore Kip didn't want to let it on that the machine only causes excruciating pain. After Napoleon said "It's a piece of crap, it doesn't work!" Uncle Rico comes in with an expression of the same residual pain saying "I could've told you that."

    My wife has cousins in Preston. I've spent enough time there to know that this movie could pass as a documentary. My mother was convinced that "Lyle" was played by a Mormon bishop, just based on having known enough of them. I had a hard time convincing her that he's just a Hollywood character actor. But he nailed the small town farmer-clergyman thing. It's uncanny.
    And "stunning" the cow for slaughter with a shotgun blast to the face in front of a bus full of kids....OMG I died laughing! When my wife and I were first married we lived in what had been my grandfather's small animal clinic behind his house. He was an old southern Idaho farm boy. We'd only been married about a week when my wife, a product of the suburbs and meat that comes wrapped in plastic, ran out the door late for work and straight into a POOL of blood. My grandfather was slaughtering a steer in front of our door. I said, "Yeah, I should have warned you our driveway is the cow-killing spot."

    Who says that Kip was lying about training to become a cage fighter? We see his heart, his motivation (joining a local dojo), and even hints that he's been working on some sweet moves. So to claim that this casts doubt on his honesty in his relationship with LaFawnda does not follow and is a poor reading of the character.
    Poor form, Looper.

    Did Napoleon actually catch that fish? Earlier in the film, Pedro asks him if he has anything to give to Deb as a gift for being sorry. Napoleon then responds "No. Not unless she likes fish" (that might be how the quote went) which kind off suggests that the bass was at his house, like in his fridge or something.

    • @rjexplosion1
      @rjexplosion1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, but it could also just as easily have been suggesting that he's a good fisherman and knows he can easily catch one for her. Not saying you're wrong, just that your evidence could also support what they said in the video.

    How is any of this things that only adults noticed? There was barely any focus on anything, it’s just vaguely describing random moments in the movie without a any points being made about anything.

    Kips smiles when Napoleon gets shocked by the time machine because he had already watched uncle Rico try it out before Napoleon. So he knew it wouldn’t really hurt him. That’s pretty clear when you see it was already set to 1982 & when Rico comes out just a few seconds later in the same scene.
