@PaulLimon Hey Paul! Yeah, with the controller, you can select a specific color and then put it in sound active mode. The sound active mode in this instance would act like a strobe (flashing to the beat)
@djaward You can connect as many as you want, but they have to be daisy chained off of one another. You cannot have individual control of the lights though...which sucks. This works great if you just want to be able to change the color of the room and you don't mind all the lights the same color
That is so sweet...What I like about it is its size...How much are are they apiece or do they come in packs. The color looks great coming out of it. THANKS for the info.
@jasperibe I thought so too. I'm thinking about maybe getting four more slimpars and another controller just in case someone wants two different uplighting colors. Thanks for the comment
Hey great video... I a trying to see if this controller can do a slow chase... Like go from one color to th next. But without any black. That is the only other thing I need this controller to do. I want it to fade to other colors, but no blackout in between each color.
thanks for the video. I just have one question about the OBEY 4. I too am going to DJ weddings and I want to match my uplight with the theme colour of the wedding, Can this sweep the colour spectrum and match it accurately? Thanks for a reply.
@DJMarioso I bought the lights at a local dj supply shop called Brent's Music Headquarters (Fort Myers, Florida) You might be able to call them and see if they can ship
@etbr The color splash jr's are 4 channel fixtures and will not work with the obey 3. The slimpars are either 3 channel or 7 channel. The obey 3 only works with 3 channel led par cans. Sorry bro
thinking of buying 20piece led par they all have dmx inputs and outputs I want daisy chain all of them so the sound active mode will have them all be the same color when the change automatically. so basically if I set one can to the dmx obey controller will it set the others to sound active to be the same color on all 20?

sup jon cryer? ironic that youre default pic looks exactly like him. thats hilarious... anyway, my advice to you is to never buy a bigger dmx controller. i have the obey 3 which is the only obey series that controls the audio via the obey 3..
Almost 10 years later and I still found this super helpful. Thanks!
Joseph, I'm glad you found this classic useful! Thanks for the comment!
Those slimpar's produce some rich colors, and a pretty sweet controller!!!

The ColorStrip is a 4 channel fixture and the Obey 3 only works with fixtures that have a 3 channel DMX option
@musicmaestrodj Yes, you can set them to fade from color to color with the controller. Thanks
Thanks for posting....gave me all the info I was after.

@jasperibe I thought so too. I'm thinking about maybe getting four more slimpars and another controller just in case someone wants two different uplighting colors. Thanks for the comment
Great video, thanks! Can you set the controller so that the fixtures will slowly scroll through all the colors?

thanks for the video. very helpful
Also to turn off the strobe, you can bring the middle strobe fader down, then deactivate the strobe button…a little simpler!

@djchet48 No prob. Thanks for the comment
@jimg76 Thanks so much-probably gonna get these at some point!
Very nice product!
Great demo, would have liked a light on the controller as couldn't really see what you were doing.
Where did you buy the lights?
Do you mind telling me where you purchased? Sounds like you got a great deal, and I am interested in purchasing also.
Would these work with my Chauvet 6spot? I just need to connect all 6 lights together and shine at the wall one color for weddings.
@crankupthevolume1517 Nope, they designed these so the cables don't hit the floor when using them as uplighting
hey do the dmx cables on those hit the bottom of the bracket so that it won't allow you to use the floor stand??

Vincent Di Scala yes, it will work.
What do they look like when you want white lights???
That Michigan Wolverines shirt though!
@naveen4nse wow, 28? You'll love them! Yeah, I'm from Michigan (Detroit area), but I live in Florida now.
how many LED's can you have before the DMX becomes faulty?
can you alternate just blue and purple?
Can you use THE obey 3 with the collorstrip?
How do you setup the master and the slaves? Thanks!
you are correct
sorry about that I was replying before the video was finished...not a bad price...that will be on my list to get next.
@rikzel no, it doesn't work with the colorstrip
good vid
are you from michigan?
That's fine if this was 2008. But now wouldn't you rather go with a wireless system? Instead of all those wires everywhere?
@chiguy1113 It's simple to use. However, if you want to program, this isn't for you.
i saw someone on you tube use it with a strip on sound mode
@bizzyb53 thanks
M GO BLUE!!!!

DjBizzyb53
