Hello Billy, Your bringing back childhood memories here, My Grandmother used to frequent this suburb a lot when I was a child, when we stayed with her for holidays she'd often take us to some of her friend's places. So I remember going through Cabramatta for lunch or something and a wander around the shops, my goodness if I remember correctly I was 13 and I believe it was the magical year of 1979. The Vietnamese community wasn't as large as it is today but from what I remember it was still a lovely suburb. If I also remember correctly she used to take us to Merrylands, Liverpool and for some reason always Double Bay. (she told me once it was her favourite suburb. Anyway I'll come for a walk with you where ever you want to go cause I just love Sydney and its just great to see these nice places flourish through the years. Cheers from Pyrmont.
Hi Craig - Cabramatta is a great place. It’s good to see how much it’s changed over the years. Good on your grandmother for getting you around the city. Thanks for sharing some history. Funny you mention Double bay as I went there to do some filming about a month ago but it was way to windy much like today so it was pointless as it would have just been a video of noise. I will be heading back that way again soon to do some filming . Thanks again Stay well🙂
This walk is around the Cabramatta Central business district. Cabramatta is a suburb in south western Sydney and is located 30 kilometres ( 19 miles ) from Sydney CBD. It is located in the local government area of Fairfield. Cabramatta has Sydney’s largest vietnamese population along with other groups such as Cambodians, Chinese and others - the other main Vietnamese areas are Bankstown in Sydney’s west and Marrickville in the inner west along with suburbs such as Canley vale , Fairfield, Liverpool, Lidcombe , wyley park and more. The train to Cabramatta from Sydney central train station takes around fifty minutes and the CBD area is right next to the station.
I love the beautiful colors of Australia!
Thank you for sharing!💜💜💜
