Plain and simple plan: Young guys continue to take a step this year. Team contends for playoffs next year. Team contends for cup in 3 years. Window is open for 5 years thereafter.
@@WillPe8 Correction: it’s the timeline the Leafs *should have been on*. In reality, their trajectory has been effectively flat: first round exit in year 1, and first round exit in year 8, with one first round win throughout the duration. Yes, the Leafs are in their “window,” but, as presently constructed, that team is not destined for playoff success.
Laine getting hurt was inevitable. I almost feel bad for the guy. He reminds me of Martin Straka. His injury history and propensity to be out of the lineup borderlines on the ridiculous. Kirby hasn’t had the easiest time either. Taylor Hall has entered that chat as well for that matter. 😊
I will say this, you guys give reasons why you put them number 8 or 7, which is more than most analyst or fans who put them automatically 8 without reasonable analysis...I put them at 5 even with Laine's injury for 4 reasons. 1. You cannot have the same results as last year in point when adding the next Quinn Hugues/Cale Makar/Adam Fox/Miro Heinskenen, level of player in Lane Hutson in your line-up...it's ludicrous to think otherwise and makes no sense. 2. Kirby Dach with Newhook is your second line that you didn't have last year, which is huge and is gonna be better in the middle of the year with Laine's return. Armia or Roy will complete that line. 3. All the Atlantic teams are good, and also super unstable with problems and questionnable situations. Montréal it's injuries...you past that, they still have a great chance ! 4. We have a duo and not a goalie trio this year...that situation made Montréal unstable and we kept the best of the 3, that will help. Montréal 5th, i expect them to battle for the wildcard this year, too many good young guys to pass them casually !
I won't make any predictions about where they fall in the div because Atlantic is the division of death this season, but I think the S-M-L top line (Small Medium Large) will finally click into place like a USB cable the second time you turn it over. As for Laine, he was never in the equation prior to August, so he's a real situation no change until he comes back, where he's a plus. The D corps was a logjam, so Reinbacher being out sucks, but it's not a critical issue, we've got bodies to push forward. As for the third and fourth forward line? As absurd as it may sound, I genuinely think this season is the Josh Anderson redemption arc, and people will be saying it come the back half of the season
Habs fan here guys!! Big fan of yours for a long time great job on the review!!! A lot of promise with the young guys🙏🏻 Have a good season with your Leafs and a good season to all hockey fans of the channel🤝
Habs fan here.I HATE The Leafs but you guys are so solid I keep coming back to the channel. Great work, boys
Their good. But Matt can be sooooooo biased at times towards us. Its blatantly annoying. And he makes a face that he knows hes doing it on purpose.
I'm the same
@@xlwolfff Matt?
@@CheetahLynxyeahhh you know, Matt! The guy who sits right between Adam and Steve
Matt always has some wild takes, not sure about half the stuff he gets on with.
Laine only being out for 2-3 months is such a relief. Can't wait to see Lane Hutson and Kirby Dach.
I have doubts about that timeline. He was suggested surgery but he decided to just rehab the knee. Hope he made the right decision.
I'm pretty sure Lane Hutson never dreamt of being called a monster truck in his life 😅
But you know Tonka truck was on his mind. He’ll get his wish someday I’m sure

That does sound great. It’s the timeline the leafs are on but made the playoffs in year one. Now we are fully in the window

8:04 : "Lane Huston is a monster truck, he really does throw a good hit". That guy never ever saw Lane Huston play haha
What a load of horseshit. Lane is built like a twig and his forte is his offensive skills not his big hits lmao
Clearly a tongue in cheek comment
You guys must be new. Adam is a Neo- Maxie- Zoom- Dweebie.
i watch Hutson play all pre season and honest he looks like PK Subban but smaller!!! he love to eat the puck and thats that
Love these previews
Laine is probably the Panarin move from Gorton's playbook, Demidov's where it will get interesting.
Bob Hartley suggests they move Xhekaj up to power forward. That would be both interesting for the fans and scary for defenders lol
I think ppl are sleeping on Suzuki. Could see him hitting 90 points this season if caufield and slaf stay healthy
Habs fan here. Good job, guys. I love watching you. 😊

Cant wait to see demidov next year. He's a superstar in the making im not a habs fan but they got a great future

Hudson isn’t that good yet.
Other teams also improved.
They won’t be last. They’ll be competitive, they won’t be 4th though.
The Habs will pound their opponents into a bloody pulp through Arber WiFi and his equally goonish brother Florian.
I just want to know where Shane Wright is??? Is he missing? Has someone found him? Slaf was so the right pick
They need to start building it up again lol. They need to knock on the door for the playoffs
Stubble on defence and Xhekaj on the fourth line.
There is place for both of them
basu&godin notebook please!
Easy over, around 85 points
My prediction is that they will be 8th with 80 points lol

Drop the puck in the real game and go from there 😊
Top 4-8 draft pick
The Habs will win the Stanley Cup before the Leafs do again. Everyone knows it.
I don’t exactly agreed with Steve about the d core matheson, savard, Hutson, wifi, ghule, struble, Barron, maillioux the d core is deep
Better than any leafs d core in Steve's lifetime and he has the audacity to call it a weakness. These guys can't be taken seriously
Cayden Primeau in net is a big question mark. Very unreliable and inconsistent
Jesse and Adam are still awesome podcasters. Steve thinks he is funny and is way too smug the past two years.

Brown Paul Johnson Maria Perez Sarah
What is the point of having Jesse on the panel? Doesn't contribute anything.

Imo the coach is the problem.
You guys are clueless.
Sa sens le delai de rebuild icite ;)
montreal has no players...and you don't think they're a bad team? detroit has SOME players and they're mediocre to the bone.
Thank you for your honest review, i think the habs team you are seeing now might be WAY different at the end of this season. Good season , everyone
