- We were really excited to hike the Tea Trail and Mist Trail, located partway down the mountain from Alishan National Park, and not far from Fenqihu, in Zhuqi Township. Our morning had a very interesting start, but we were determined to see the incredible tea plantations.

Longer summary:
Despite the rain, we press on to see the tea plantations and encounter a sweet smell in the air. The hike is steep and slippery, with numerous stairs, but the bamboo groves make it worthwhile. We rename the Tea Trail as the Awesome Bamboo Grove. Unfortunately, the sprinklers drench us, adding to the challenge. We keep going, laughing at our wet situation. We take breaks and note the stairs and wet conditions. Finally, we reach the summit, marked at 1699 meters.

It's been a really tough trip. But after a while, I'm sure it will become a good memory. I wondered, why was the sprinkler watering when it was raining so hard? Bill and Heather were so unlucky.
Bamboo has a very strong vitality. There is a record that bamboo grows 121 cm in one day. Even if you cut a bamboo tree, if you don't cut down to the roots, bamboo will grow quickly. However, bamboo can be used to make various tools, and bamboo shoots are edible(in China and Japan).
We wondered why the sprinklers were going off in the rain as well! It was a steady rain by the time we reached that part. At least it provided some funny moments while hiking. 😂😂
The sprinkler is set to time and starts within the set time.

Just a reminder, when you read the maps in Taiwan, pay attention to the compass symbol. The north is often not pointing to the top.

Simply stunning..and wet! My wife is from Chiayi County--home to Alishan, Fenqihu, and some very wet tea fields. How are you traveling about? Bus?
Hahaha, definitely wet tea fields. 😂😂 (Why were they watering in the rain?!) We used public transport! Bus and train, but sometimes we rent bikes or maybe a car for a day.
These trials name 石棹步道群，the best way is from Sakura trial and go by clockwise. 😊 Anyway, you have worked hard and achieved a great vlog! 👍

I am not kidding. Taiwan produces the best teas in the world, much better than Japan, Sri Lanka, India and China; not merely due to plantation, but due to exceptional skill in producing them.
Taiwan teas are expensive in the world market, but they are affordable when you buy them in Taiwan.
