Before I watched your video I was very anxious and stressed out because my final exams ("Abitur" which you could compare to A-levels I think) are just around the corner. The pressure and amount of work that I have to deal with right now is overwhelming! But as soon as I took a break from studying and started watching your video it made me so much calmer! I feel like Steph knows the best way of brightening someone's day up. You see all these youtubers who buys their friends expensive gadgets because they're having a rough day. You buy them an experience which I feel is more sentimental and you get more out of it. It seems that your friend is now motivated to push himself to get a job whereas if you were to buy him the latest mac book he would probably assume he'd get everything free in life without working. So happy you are not desperately trying to get more subs. The biggest family-vloggers are definitely targeting younger (children) and I hate those vlogs. The weekly vlogs are like a show for me. So please don't change that. Also love the music again this week. There is a show now on Netflix called 13 reasons why, the music reminds me of this week. I also think everybody should watch that show, but that is a different story haha
Stef, your mate is AMAZING. Fair play to him for conquering his fear and doing that! My husband Simon is TERRIFIED of heights and there's no way I could get him up a tree like that. The first time I took him back to my home town of Bristol to show him where I grew up we walked across the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Took about an hour to do a 2 minute journey across the bridge because he was hanging onto the side crying, legs like jelly. Bless him. You'd have thought, being 6'5" he'd be used to being up high but obviously not. Loved this week's upload!

I'm so glad you said the bit about those channels with all the subs. I think TH-cam needs a new metric for quality. Because this channel is gorgeous and engaging and doesn't pander to the lowest common denominator or rely or harmful stereotypes to keep our attention.
Akilah Obviously - TH-cam have already started to do this. A lot of these channels are now losing there ad revenue. You can also watch YT in restricted mode and then you will not be able to see most of them.

That was so nice of Stef to bring his friend out and give him a boost. It shows a lot about his character. These are the only vloggers that I don't mind having an ad in the vlog. They give up most of their vlog income by having to pay music royalties in order to make a quality video. I wish them nothing but good wishes :)

Hey, sorry just lurking in the comments and had a quick question - do you think going to film school has helped you? i.e. are you glad you did? Because I know a lot of filmmakers debate it, so just wondering!
For me personally, I met some of my best friends in film school and got some cool experience + learned a lot about the industry! It was a good way to make networking connections too, so I would say I'm glad I did it! BUT I definitely think with technology and tutorials online, etc. it's definitely possible to forgo film school and still be successful in the industry, especially for those wanting to do more post-production like editing, sound design, etc. That can definitely be self-taught. But for those wanting to do production and pre-production, film school can be really helpful in teaching you proper etiquette and what to expect on a professional set. Plus, it's a way to practice making films and being on set before going into the real world. BASICALLY, I think film school has it's perks and I think it's great experience, but if someone can't afford school or for those who are just really driven to learn things themselves, film school isn't a necessity to be successful. Sorry for all the rambling, hope that helped a little bit! 😅

When my little cousin was the same age as Gracie he didn't like mashed as well, now he is almost six years old and trust me if he could eat tables and chairs he would! btw I really enjoyed watching the surprise you organized for Zack, it really shows that you are a great person inside and out; now, don't worry about not having a video for un on Sunday, just relax youselves guys and spend your well deserved break together without having to think about editing or filming, we'll see you again the week after.
Obviously there will be hard times in families but it makes me very happy to see families who still love each other and their children. The videos look awesome and the color correction is so well done.

As a parent of two aspiring film makers, each paying their dues working whatever jobs they can get in the business to pay the bills, while building their contacts for future opportunities, and doing their own projects. I bet your parents have tremendous respect for you following your career goals. I have one more, just turned 16 who is trying to figure out what she wants to do, and it will be her decision 100%. I get it's a massive trade off-both will defer having a family, kids, for many years, may never own a home, but I doubt either will have regrets. Good luck to you.

Hey, sorry just lurking in the comments and had a quick question - do you think going to film school has helped you? i.e. are you glad you did? Because I know a lot of filmmakers debate it, so just wondering!
For me personally, I met some of my best friends in film school and got some cool experience + learned a lot about the industry! It was a good way to make networking connections too, so I would say I'm glad I did it! BUT I definitely think with technology and tutorials online, etc. it's definitely possible to forgo film school and still be successful in the industry, especially for those wanting to do more post-production like editing, sound design, etc. That can definitely be self-taught. But for those wanting to do production and pre-production, film school can be really helpful in teaching you proper etiquette and what to expect on a professional set. Plus, it's a way to practice making films and being on set before going into the real world. BASICALLY, I think film school has it's perks and I think it's great experience, but if someone can't afford school or for those who are just really driven to learn things themselves, film school isn't a necessity to be successful. Sorry for all the rambling, hope that helped a little bit! 😅

I'm actually about to finish a law degree, but have decided I want to get into wedding filmmaking (have already shot a few) and so for me, being at university has just allowed me to realise what I *actually* want to do with my life haha. When my little cousin was the same age as Gracie he didn't like mashed as well, now he is almost six years old and trust me if he could eat tables and chairs he would! btw I really enjoyed watching the surprise you organized for Zack, it really shows that you are a great person inside and out; now, don't worry about not having a video for un on Sunday, just relax youselves guys and spend your well deserved break together without having to think about editing or filming, we'll see you again the week after.

Obviously there will be hard times in families but it makes me very happy to see families who still love each other and their children.

As a parent of two aspiring film makers, each paying their dues working whatever jobs they can get in the business to pay the bills, while building their contacts for future opportunities, and doing their own projects. I bet your parents have tremendous respect for you following your career goals. I have one more, just turned 16 who is trying to figure out what she wants to do, and it will be her decision 100%. I get it's a massive trade off-both will defer having a family, kids, for many years, may never own a home, but I doubt either will have regrets. Good luck to you.
