    I have owned my Oryx chassis for several years now. I lost my cheek riser due to my own fault. I contacted Oryx/MDT with my problem. They sent a new cheek riser to me free. No charge for the riser or shipping. May not mean much to some yet to me it represents everything good in the gun community.

    As a walk in hunter here in NSW Australia, I chose the Oryx over the Hunter Chassis as its illegal to have the hinged stock. My only issue is that MDT must think all hunters carry bipods, tripods or hunting sticks, or just shoot at the range. Where’s the common sense in a lighter chassis with no belt sling points?

    • @OryxChassis
      @OryxChassis  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are sling points on the chassis. You just need to add them. You can utilize the M-Lok slot on the buttstock bar and forend to attach your preferred sling.

    Prospective buyers should be made aware that cleaning from the breech on some rifles mounted to this chassis is not possible unless the chassis is partially disassembled or a flexible cleaning rod is used. Also, the MDT AI mag I bought with the chassis fit so tightly that I had to dremel the proud areas on the magazine in order to be able to use it. Other than that, it is a fine product.

    • @MDTTAC
      @MDTTAC 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, to clean the barrel from the breach side, you will need to do either. What magazine did you purchase?

    • @jamesbrannon4857
      @jamesbrannon4857 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MDTTAC , From Optics Planet, and MDT marked AI mag for 308. That is also where I bought the chassis. The mag well was scuffed up when it arrived, leading me to suspect the chassis was previously bought and then returned. The problem with the tight fit of the magazine makes this seem even more likely. I was under the impression that the chassis came with the necessary (long) Allen wrenches to install. As well as a recoil lug. These items were absent. When I brought this to the attention of O.P., they said they would check with you. A day or so later I heard back from O.P. and they told me that you said the wrenches and recoil lug are not included with the purchase. My mistake, I guess.

    Yo, I love my ORYX! But I was wondering "why no simple stick on pads for the cheek risers?" I made some out of 1/4" Neoprene foam and some double-sided gorilla tape.. Hand cut is most certainly not as clean as you guys could make them with cnc machines. Also kinda sad that theirs only tow options for the pistol inlet :( I have four Remmy 783's that'd be fun little bing bangs.

    • @OryxChassis
      @OryxChassis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the feedback; you can check out our parent company MDT Elite cheek piece mdttac.com/mdt-elite-cheek-piece/ which will work and has neoprene foam on it. We may add more pistol chassis inlets in the future!

    • @ronws2007

      I did not realize that MDT had those pads. I see they are now on back order. You can get sorbethane cheek pads from Goda Grip (ships from Florida.) Mike is a super nice guy. Since I did not realize MDT had those and I have used Goda Grip on other rifles, I put one on my Oryx, which holds my TC Compass II .308 Win.
      My Mossberg Patriot is in an MDT chassis, the LSS Gen 2 with folding sock adapter and SCS buttstock.
      I like the Oryx so much because it is streamlined and light. Essentially, you set up LOP and cheek rise for your most common shooting position and then it is ready to go.
      Lately I have been thinking about getting the new 7 mm PRC and the next thing I did was look at the Oryx site to make sure they had one in long action for the inlet I was looking at.
      Tech tip, if you have a .300 Win Mag, you can actually swap barrels. It is using the same action you have for .300 WM and 7 mm RM.

    • @MDTTAC
      @MDTTAC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can if you want to, but it is not needed. If you do apply thread locking compound, make sure to reduce your final torque specs by 20%.

    I got the stock and had issues. It has a hidden screw in the back of the trigger guard that was impossible to tighten properly. It had a lot more felt recoil than expected. It did not improve my groups, and you have to take the cheekpiece off to clean it.
