I Made A Valorant Line-Up Calculator (Not Cheating)

- Basically what the title says, I made a program that finds line-ups for Brimstone in Valorant.
This is not cheating as the program was never open during games, and if getting help to find line-ups in solo games was cheating then all the tutorials on TH-cam would also be cheating.

I don't really have time or brainpower to learn lineups, so I always had this stupid idea of studying the molly physics in a way that I could just look at the minimap for a distance of where I want to hit, and through that know what angle to shoot it to have it land where I want (or close to it since elevation would have to be guessed).
I'm so glad someone had a similar stupid idea, you're a savior and I'm ngl I am kinda in love rn? (but for real, that's some great work, I'd love to see it myself)
There are actually ways of doing what you described, but I also think being able to turn off my brain completely is more enjoyable

It does sometimes, but it tends to find the shortest paths rather than crazy bounces

nice video. i feel like someone might expand on this adding the other maps and sites. i think the best feature to add (but would be difficult) would be to show where the crosshair should be if you select a lineup

I think it would be cool due to the amount of agents with throwing utilities, and who knows how far the idea of a line-up calculator could go :)
@@BambooBot. A Yoru TP one would be super cool! It should be pretty easy compared to thrown abilities too, just keep in mind that the TP turns while rubbing against walls and can go up some very shallow steps. Also has gravity and a lifetime.

4:10 it was horrendous in the past. These objects dont have collisions so that your utility acts in a predictable manner and doesnt bounce of a 2 pixel leaf in a comoletely different way
We could've made lineups in game only if there was a replay system

I do kinda want to say that more accurate hitboxes isn't necessarily "better" game design though. There are many instances where level designers make hitboxes bigger or smaller than they appear to make the game *feel* much better for the player. Like some of those examples with detailing on the walls, it would be SUPER annoying if every little crack/bump had an accurate hitbox that would make things bounce off in unexpected directions.
Dude I keep an Obsidian Vault (basically like a notetaking program) with all the useful line ups depending on rough locations where I can run to so I don't really have to memorise each one, but usually the process to find the lineup is the longest one. You better drop this program with variable shooting velocity (like Sova) in mind, dude! This is sick!
Next one should be Sova Shock Dart, I know Average Jonas would love it
I doubt Average Jonas will ever see these videos, but I'll still make the Sova version
And the viper, the neon, the yoru flash, the kayo flash and knife, Razer grenade (hardest), harbour cove. Make this paid for the following feature- finding all possible mollys from a selected area on the map to a selected range of positions (for spike or otherwise), with a slider to determine a balance between render speed- max number of mollys possible

Damn I recently thought about this being a possibility and was, for a brief moment, considering doing this in Unreal. Then I decided it's really way too much work and also I haven't been playing valorant for over 9 months now

This video and idea is amazing. If it had an end goal, my idea would be to set up an app or program that you can use and select when you're standing and select where you want the lineup to go. It would show a green area where you can reach so you don't just select a lineup then get an incorrect lineup after calculating the lineup just to say "no lineup". Something like this and then you can have lineups from wherever you want and have it at quick ease. I would pay for a subscription like this or one time use to have in my games and would make playing the game alot more enjoyable, I can see this being a small business if you wanted to proceed further with the idea as this is genuinely a good concept idea that you've come up with so far.

Fantastic work. IIRC maps like ascent have some crazy far things (floating debris and stuff) you can bounce stuff like sova shock darts off of, I presume even w/ projectile physics changes that would be impractical to implement into this version?
I'd love to see part 2 that works on making it more performant, and (hopefully) easier to use.
You could probably add a heuristic of some sort and a random search tree to find an optimal solution more quickly.

Great video! Definitely make a part 2 and download for the unity project. One idea to speed up the calculation could be to run the simulation in reverse. Ex, pick the desired location for the molly and then find trajectories that hit that spot. Im not sure if unity would allow for such a simulation, but regardless, very interesting video, keep it up!
light rays in computers already work like this and lots of that math can probably be repurposed for this, taking into account the molly physics. computers don't want to spend time tracking a light ray that won't reach the player's camera, so rays begin at the camera and terminate at light sources.

Insane effort bro , but you should check out the star pixel concept with is already used in game for precise lineups
I feel like the physics should be reversible allowing you to pick the end point and send mollies in reverse until you find good starting points. There are only three standard projectile arcs possible depending on the number of bounces before contact and any bounce just follows the law of reflection making the math relatively simple for this. You can also do a few checks to rule out impossible line ups from where they were shot and when you find ones that are close, you can narrow in and put more mollie simulations there to get a better line up. I don't know how hard it would actually be, but I think it's doable.

THIS IS SO GOOD LMAOO! how does this not have more views. also not to be THAT guy but u can make any on the spot lineup simply by placing a smoke where you want the lineup to land, and look up, where the smoke appears, you shoot the molly and it will always land on the spot unless its covered. its pretty OP.
Don't worry you're not THAT guy for giving good advice, but that strategy has several restrictions, so different tools for different occasions
