Tom Waits. They broke the mold after he was made. Sometimes he's like that collision you cant keep your eyes off. A gift of mysterious enlightenment. Trippie dude, to put it mildly. Great actor too.
I totally relate to your comment, felt the same way, like losing family - hit the whole world hard. Even harder seeing the first bow of the stones without him - heartbreaking! All the best
I loved Toms story about Keith he said when they got together they always finished something it might be the song it might be the bottle but they finished something.
@@robertbright1813 Utter nonsense! Jagger may not have been the greatest singer of his era but he was certainly the template for a million lead singers that followed! He was the ultimate 'front man'! He also wrote great songs! Brian on the other hand..............................was merely a hedonist! All the girls loved Brian. But not as much as he loved himself.
I remember being 3yrs old and seeing the cover of the Tom waits album where he's backstage at a strip joint and the girl wearing paistes,I knew then Tom was cool
Tom is the perfect singer for the Stones. Mick prances about like a tit too much. I don't mean to disparage him, I met him in 2004 on the beach of a resort called the secret garden, on the island of Samui, Thailand. I was jogging along the beach and he joined me. After a few reps of the beach, we had both decided to pack it in, so we wandered over to the pagoda on the lawn of the secret garden. I remember that they were pumping out the man who sold the world by Mr Bowie. It was only about 8am, so we had breakfast of scrambled egg and pineapple. We then returned to the Beach to watch the birds. Skimmers and drongos. And raptors. I think there were bramany kites as well. Anyway, it was very jolly. That evening, I bumped into Mick again, at the resort where I was staying with my wife. It was owned by a Swiss bloke. We had a fondue. Strange choice in the tropics, but it was very tasty. Mick wanted me to join him on a bike ride the next day, but it's too hot on Samui for all that nonsense. You'd have to start at dawn. I was on my honeymoon so I was preoccupied. I think the best bit of this story is that he didn't say who he was, and the Thais didn't know who he was. When my wife met him, she said "are you OK, you look too thin!" My wife is daft. So we returned to the secret garden in the evening, had a mo gatar. The band in the pagoda played hendrix, free, Tull, and AC-DC. And I met Bon Scott's brother in Kanchanaburi, but that's another story. BE WELL!
Keith played on Tom Waits' album Bone Machine. They duet on a song called That Feel. It's about drinking - and hitting that magic zone before you descend into the abyss. Also Tom put out a warning to the world about Keith. He said whatever you don't drink with Keith lol.
Noch nie zuvor gesehen, aber sofort als bemerkenswert eingestuft ☺😉✌👍❕👏🆗❗

Was Master announced? You're digging this classic blues tune, enjoying the show AND "IS THAT TOM FRIGGIN WAITS?!?" NAH, CANT BE, IT FRIGGIN IS! I agree with the comment below- Tom as THE BAND (he IS versatile! Think of his Harry Partch daze and Big Time) Mick is very good at math....FANTASY: a few years back in musical time ALL is possible, so Tom is playing the piano, a grand piano and on it, one leg seductively clothed in fish net stocking, garter and all, we're going Weil and Brecht for a time, smoking a Sobrani, cigarette holder, long gloves, hair disheveled, lips, ( the most enviable in the world INHO) glossed red, an umbrella lies nearby, she takes a drag, the piano player, seems unaware of her but that is part of the magic and it's MY fantasy, Marianne Faithfull, of course it's Marianne. Tom may not have written Strange Weather, for her BUT it's her song, inspired by her? If anybody reads my "dribble" tell me- she has said, she "inhabits" that song- oh yes...so I put 2 of my music idols together for a song or two. Those WERE the days. ( David Bowie and Marianne, nun and spaceman? Ziggy? ) Somebody artistic come up with a stage set...Namaste
Jesus, why is there not better quality of this. Tom Waits and the stones might just be the best combo in musical history

Great actor too.
With Tom as the singer , and Mick as the manager , this band could've made it big!
Absolutely splendid!!!!
Tom Waits is the real deal a legend. Works well with the Stones.
I'd give anything for Charlie to be alive. I loved him like family honestly. Today I cried on my way to work like I lost the time to my own heartbeat.

Tom channeling Captain Beefheart!
Billy Suter right on !
Billy Suter he’s been doing that at least since his Swordfishtrombones album, way back in the early 80s.
He's channeling Howlin' Wolf. Same man who influenced Beefheart.

I'm much more of a Tom Waits fan, so my response surprises me. Mick is made for this arena blues performance. Tom Waits is ok here.
Ron playing an electric dobro!!
Mick cant really sing the blues but fuck me Tom Waits can. His voice is like a Thunder storm

Sorry for the spelling error. Watched this @ 3:45 a.m.
the Doors "little red rooster"is by far the best I've ever hear
I like the Doors, but I’ll take the original from Howlin’ Wolf or even the great cover from Sam Cooke any day.
