Dear The Daily Aviation, I have watched several of you videos now, and have to say, very interesting for a veteran, but for a Dutchman like me the texts are each time a few seconds too short, I often have to stop the video. Could you change that?
It's not "US restricted caves"but Norwegian caves and nothing US has chosen to do on their own.I remember the heated debated about this in the early 80'.There were some opposition, but as I remember most were in favour of US storing equipment in Norway. Our Southern neighbour Denmark has not allowed it, but that seems to change now?
Well, denmarks highest mountain is 100meters. It’s a little bit different in Norway. We are a land of mountains. So where would you store military equipment, ammunition and maybe nukes? Deep deep in a mountain. No Russian icbm can penetrate that many hundred of meters of rock. That the reason they chose Norway over Denmark for most of their equipment. But that said. US has many “storages” around Europe. A lot in Germany. In recent years a lot in countries like Poland too.
Poor soul,,, You mean “It doesn’t get any worse…” many millions of people think, after finally opening their eyes ! A nation only surviving on conflicts is a poor looser nation
Most of us who are norwegians think this is very good and we feel some kinda safe with all this gear here and the americans are our friends and allied too and this help the Nato too. 👍👍
By this I learn that Norway has an army, Norway is a member av NATO, and as such Norway is allied with the USA. Except this, which is common knowledge, what secrets do you reveal and what are the sources you have collected these secrets from?
The russians are very well aware of these sites. There is nothing in this video they don't already know, otherwise no reporter would be allowed to film.
In april 1940, Norway sank the battleship Blucher with old outdated German guns. Saving our Government and the Royal Family. The Germans knew the site, but thought it was obsolete. If we keep confirming where and when our arms are stored, we just keep updating them. Shut up! Thats what we learned in the cold war as a former Naval Officer - Shut up - then they need to find out them selves. We had on all our telephones - "you are talking - who listen?"
Impossible to keep it a secret! Big ships offloading hundreds of vehicles is not easy to do without people noticing in Norway were people live in the most insane places. There are eyes everywhere.
They do not need or want to keep the locations a secret. It' made public to show possible enemies they are in for a fight. A lot more equipment will be flown and shipped in as needed
I never imagined the US had such a hidden arsenal tucked away in Norway! This is next-level strategic planning. Do you think this secrecy will have long-term geopolitical impacts?
It's called forward prepositioning stocks. It's actually a highly effective strategy. If a war ever breaks out, u don't want to be wasting your time transporting all the heavy vehicles, cargo, equipment and weapons which could take more than a week. The US forward prepositioned them so if war breaks out, just send the troops to the designated area in that country where the unit can withdraw these prepositioned weapons and gears. I'm not aware if the US Marine Corps has anymore such forward preposition stocks, but the US Army has a lot more, 1 in Kuwait (Camp Arifjan), 1 in Qatar, 2 in Germany, 1 in Belgium or Netherlands or Luxembourg, 1 in Korea and probably a few more.
Nonsens where do you get that from? i am norwegian and do not want this sites gone and no one i know of here want that so speak for your self. and your "rødt" eller "SV" standpoint is not needed here and america have no meaningless war as i know of so stop with you friking propaganda shi..t!
I'm only surprised that it belongs to the Marine Corps and not the Army. The Army has many more of such locations, Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS) sites. To enable better synchronization and coordination, it would be better to have it placed under the Army.
Norway is at same latitude as Alaska, MCPP-N is at 63 degree north and is located 900 km south of the main military bases of the Norwegian Army. In the High North, troops need winter warfare capability and equipment, for US and UK, it's the Marines that are trained for this environment.

Oh please, don't make up conspiracy theories in your head. USA has had equipment here in Norway since 1981 as part of what is currently designated the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program-Norway (MCPP-N). And this is because of a certain country that is the best NATO recruiter, which got Sweden to give up it's nearly 200 years of military neutrality. That country's name starts with and R and ends with ussia.
and it will be sold to a third world country so it can be replaced by something newer... What's you point lol? You do understand that's how every military storage depot works right?
