In trhis episode we hear about 3 cheerleaders who died in a car accident, and a sports star who died in a rock-climbing fall? No wonder no-one talks about the high mortality rate in and around the Bronze. It's just normal for this town. Why is anyone still living there? Fly, you fools!

This isn't a "bad" episode, it's just that almost everything to come is spectacular. My favorite thing about this ep is that Angel shows up wearing a khaki windbreaker and pale buttoned shirt. He's clearly trying to dress less dark and broody this episode, and more... Xander? Like, he got jealous last episode, decided that maybe Buffy DOES really like Xander, wondered how to compete, and decided on a wardrobe change. Not trying to be funny. Not any of Xander's other traits. Angel looked at that man and thought, "the clothes. That's what Buffy likes about him. Definitely the clothes."
Oh, that's a good spot! It obviously didn't work because the shirt wasn't BRIGHT enough. 😂

Whether I ship Angel and Buffy together or not, I don't understand the age difference being the objection. If these were real people, sure, that'd be creepy and illegal. But he's a vampire. Those don't actually exist. Also, it's not a predatory thing. He's not into her because she's so much younger than he is, nor is she into him because he's some sort of father figure to her. It's a star-crossed thing, more than anything. After that, you can dig it or not, but the age difference is a non-issue for me.

The age difference thing has bothered me more & more as time has gone on. I'm now more than old enough to be Buffy's dad & I gotta say, I kinda wanna punch that Angel guy right in his creepy paedophile face at times... but like you say, "fantasy show" so everyone involved is (in reality) over 18 & has consented to be in the storyline. No hate on Buffy btw, I not too old to understand why a 16yr old kid would go goo-goo over Mr Broody Eyes 1997 but Angel, ffs mate KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS !!!

Stating that some event may reveal something later means the reactor knows something’s coming, which is mental preparation they wouldn’t have had otherwise.
