Would you please post The information about how to contact the cemetery and funeral Bureau, as well as the particular information about the name of the cemetery, the building that it involves, the address and the name of the business that owns it. I think we all need to report this place because this is utterly disgusting and I’m willing to bet it is thoroughly illegal. If anybody knows any contacts at the news channels or newspapers, I would suggest that you also contact them and report this to them because once something gets coverage on a news program, things usually start to happen.
I think there are no consistent laws on funeral and cemeteries. Unless it is called “Perpetual Care,” which is expensive, the family has no recourse. Unless it’s a health hazard, no one wants to be involved. You know dead people don’t vote. Perpetual Care means the cemetery is charging the family in advance to care for the grounds or mausoleums.
When I was 5 years old, my Daddy took me out to the cemetery to cut the grass and made sure it looked nice. The cemetery wasn’t perpetual care so many plots were overgrown. We would clean others out of the kindness of our hearts. I’m 81 now and you know what, I still go to the cemetery and clean plots by hand. If I were at that mausoleum, I would start to clean it, one square foot at a time. The plaques would be replaced to the correct owners. If more people like me cared about the hardships of others, this world would be a better place to live and die in peace.
Side note about church pews….i got a church pew from the church I grew up in (just celebrated it being 105 yo). Thankfully it was delivered to me. I’ll keep that thing forever. This is such a shame. I hope the people reporting it will make someone do something about it.

I never understood why cremated people would even be put in a place like this. I thought you got cremated so you could be with your loved ones or scattered. Anyway, you're a good kid. ❤

Hey Scott, Here in PA, we had the same situation, People paid for Prapetual Care, and the Cemetery neglected to provide the Service, Family members got together and went after the cemetary, The state attorney General got involved, and the owners were forced to sell, and a new owner fixed all the issues. And it is now a Beautiful place.

I know the veteran section of the cemetery is kept by the veterans Association and their volunteers. Where my friends brother was found hadn’t been touched in decades. Read the link I sent you. It’s a pretty deep story. Just happened like three or four years ago.

The coyotes made this sad situation a litt!e lighthearted. I live in the desert and love to hear them communicate. As for that mausoleum, disgusting. Well Scott thank you for making this video. My husband was cremated and I've had his urn in my home for nearly three years. I was just looking into having him placed in a mausoleum. But after seeing this. I'll be making other arrangements. This video sure opened my eyes.
I think mausoleums are just a bad idea. It's first and foremost a building and what building doesn't fall down eventually? There's no shortage of horror story mausoleums on TH-cam, and this one is bad but far from the worst. If nothing else, it should be a law that in the case of building failure that all interments be subject to mass burial. When these buildings fail, people are traumatized all over again and it's just unnecessary.

When I complained to the "manager" said I was appalled and wasn't she also appalled, she said no. That's why I want to be creamated and scattered. You can't trust these places.

It is up to the bereavers, families, communities, descendants to not allow this to happen. I have a distant cousin whose tombstone was knocked over by vandals. My father contacted the funerary monument company. The came right out. Restored the site. No charge.
I would think the cost of internment ( which is no small amount especially in CA regardless of where it is) there would cover at the very least minimal up keep, but this is...I don't even have the words. So, so disrespectful among so many other things. SMH....
When I was a teen I legit decided I was going to purchase a couple of plots in a columbarium/mausoleum in my hometown. I quickly nixed that idea 13 years ago when I started seeing video after video uploaded depicting failed/abandoned cemeteries. It’s so sad. These ppl deserve better. I’ve not a doubt many of them paid for perpetual care. I’ve read that plenty of those perpetual care funds wind up being mismanaged. Great video Scott. Thank you for advocating for these ppl that can no longer speak for themselves.

My dad is doing great. I feel blessed to know my mom and dad will be buried at Arlington in Riverside. My dad is a Korean War veteran. I know their remains will be well taken care of. Thanks for keeping records. The older I get, the more I am intrigued by the stories my dad is finally sharing. I am 60 years old and still learning. People should go to jail for wasting money & not taking care of these departed souls. Many of these departed souls probably do not have any living relatives to raise hell about nothing being done. There is no real words I can think of to describe this terrible, unkept mausoleum. The families of those buried here should do a class action law suit against this place. In Winnipeg here our mausoleums are beautiful to look at and are so clean. To think that the name plates are falling off is terrible, which vault to they belong to, come on cemetery staff is this the way you'd want to be buried. Thanks for this video and bringing this matter to the internet so that people whose loved ones are in here might be able to do something about it.

Compared to TH-cam videos of abandoned mausoleums where the crypts have been broken into and the remains defiled -- most likely in search of jewelry or other valuables -- this one just needs a little TLC. A mason and glazier could easily seal the foundation holes and replace missing stained glass. Pest control could resolve the ant and wasp problems. A thorough scouring of the walls, pews, and floor could erase the unkempt appearance. And that would leave reinstallation of the bronze markers to complete the renovation -- seems very easily doable if the will or incentive could be found.

I cannot begin to describe how horrible I feel at this disrespect! All those ants just put it all into perspective just how awful the owners of that place are. The front desk guy is a terrible person from the sound of it. My heart hurts for the people who were laid to rest there. What a shame! 😢

People should go to jail for wasting money & not taking care of these departed souls. Many of these departed souls probably do not have any living relatives to raise hell about nothing being done. This is a sickening sight to see. Thank you for bringing this to the public's attention, maybe something can still be done.
This is heartbreaking to view. These people deserve better than this. Something should be done about this. There is no real words I can think of to describe this terrible, unkept mausoleum. The families of those buried here should do a class action law suit against this place. In Winnipeg here our mausoleums are beautiful to look at and are so clean. To think that the name plates are falling off is terrible, which vault to they belong to, come on cemetery staff is this the way you'd want to be buried. Thanks for this video and bringing this matter to the internet so that people whose loved ones are in here might be able to do something about it.

Compared to TH-cam videos of abandoned mausoleums where the crypts have been broken into and the remains defiled -- most likely in search of jewelry or other valuables -- this one just needs a little TLC. A mason and glazier could easily seal the foundation holes and replace missing stained glass. Pest control could resolve the ant and wasp problems. A thorough scouring of the walls, pews, and floor could erase the unkempt appearance. And that would leave reinstallation of the bronze markers to complete the renovation -- seems very easily doable if the will or incentive could be found.

Thanks for highlighting this Scott and Troy - the state of that cemetery is just heart breaking - disrespecting the dead in this way is bad enough but families would have paid pretty significant sums to have their loved ones taken care of and this is just a reason why private cemetery management is such a bad idea - out of interest what can be done here? Could local government take over and better manage the place? As an end note thank you for including the amazing coyote pack howling session!
