Great job. When you put the hands on, put them both at 12 oclock, then they're timed to each other. You can then adjust them manually to the correct time before starting the pendulum. I bough this kit for my kids when they were wee. They're both over 40 now so this kit has been around for a long time...
so I have an odd question, not sure if you still answer these... I assembled the clock correctly, even lined the hands up to 12 before adjusting & spring works well, bell dings... however, after the pendulum swings between 9 to 30-something ticks (different each time) the mechanism that grabs and moves the teeth gear that causes the pendulum to swing, gets "caught" it looks, on the teeth. it slows a bit and stops on the edges of the teeth... have you seen this or have any ideas what I could possibly do to keep it going longer? we tried shortening/lengthening the pendulum and even putting different washers/weights on the end, but nothing is keeping the ticking consistent..
I can only suggest you take it all the way apart again and start from the beginning. It sounds like something is not in the right place. You shouldn't need to add weights. It works as designed.

I also have this, but after I assemble the bell in, it is really noisy if that bell strick every quarter time, so I have to removed the bell inside and only kept the timing function except time ringing function.
Surely it doesn't run for long enough for that to be a big problem, unless you are rewinding it every few hours or so. I seem to remember it only runs for about 6 hours.

Sounds like you have a problem. I can't offer any advice other than take it apart again. I have done a few of them and never had a problem, so I can not speak with any fault finding experience. Does the spring have tension in it when you wind it up?
