I must say I will be disappointed to see the Tacoma go , but I am super excited to see where this build goes . Best wishes to a happy New Year ! I will be following along as you build .
Right on! I have a 2011 tundra double cab 5.7 limited with a slide in pop up northstar tc 650. Way cheaper than a fwc even though those are the dream. Love it though. Gas guzzler but pulls strong
I have looked at the Northstar, I like their campers. I’m trying to stay as light and compact as possible and it seems like FWC is really the main game in town there.
as someone who found you by the DIY aspects of building your rig, it saddens me to see a possible slide in unit vs the DIY route. Hopefully theres alot of great content coming though and look forward to what the year brings.
Oh there will still be plenty of DIY stuff I am sure. I also haven’t completely wrote off a DIY camper. I just know that what I want to build would be exceedingly difficult and far more expensive and probably take a year or more. Who knows!
Nice choice my man. I have a 2011 Rock Warrior and absolutely love it. Was initially looking at the Tacoma but, as you said, it's underpowered and cramped. I love the Tundra's power and hauling-- fuel efficiency not so much. Looking forward to see what you do with your new Tundra.
Thank you! I am digging the Tundra so far and eager to get some parts on it. The fuel mileage takes a little adjustment, but my Tacoma only gets like 15 around town and 18 highway, so it’s not a whole lot better. Cheers!
Haven’t had a chance to go down anything tight and don’t really have any plans to. It’s going to have limitations and trade offs that a smaller truck won’t have. And a smaller truck is going to sacrifice interior space, comfort and power. Gas mileage has been the EPA numbers, 13 or so city and 18 highway. 12-14 with camper on it
Love to see adventure bros moving up in the world!! Can’t wait for my turn, lots of hard work pays off when you wanna make some goals happen!
Thanks man! You will get there, Cheers!
All good man, the Tacoma was good for that season of your adventures. Here's to a 2023 full of even more great adventure with the Tundra 💪🏍️
Thank you for tuning in, cheers!
I have a 2007 tundra and I love it. Nice new truck.
Thanks man! Glad you are loving yours.
Congratulations! Good looking truck and nice upgrade. Looking forward to the build. Best wishes to you in the new year.
Thank you, I appreciate it!

I will be disappointed to see it go too! Thanks for watching and sticking around. Happy New Year!
I loved my four wheel camper. Best of both worlds. I did switch to a van which is amazing but four wheel camper was up there for me.
That’s good to hear! They are certainly popular. Vans are rad too.

How has this Tundra been in the tight jeep trails in the PNW? How has the MPGs been? Considering this exact truck vs a Tacoma DCLB.

@@pnwxplore - Thank you! I'll just have to test drive both. Coming from a 4runner interior wise I'm definitely leaning tundra DC 6.5.
Oh no! Are you going to be keeping the tacoma?
