But also, let’s remember he disrespected Trinity K Bonet with the lisp thing, (Rupaul defended him). Latrice Royale with the brown dress saying she looks like a “couch from Costco”. So glad he’s not a judge anymore.
I agree with you but honestly the point towards Trinity was because Trinity was wearing a flapper and it was impeding her speech. Even one of the guest judges told her to enunciate more.
it was rupaul who had it mispronouncing something not really trinity. and i dont think the judges know shes wearing a flipper before that time, so they assume its just how trinity talk
I never got it with Santino. Pandoras style was fine back then for a camp queen and she's improved a lot since then and now can serve glamour as well
He didn't like camp. He wanted all the queens to be fashion models.
Pandora is amazing.
Santino seems to take out his failures as a designer out on other contestents.
I remember trying to watch Project Runway because I wanted to know why he was a judge. Then he just fought with the judges (!) and had ugly clothes (I only saw a few episodes tho)
And Santino knew that Pandora is a solid designer.
Honestly I don't think I've ever heard a queen say they liked Santino. Everyone hated him. I'm really surprised they kept him for 6 seasons.
Because he gave harsh critic regarding something RuPaul and Michele had no idea about: Fashion. And Fashion isnt that important anymore. Now its different. The industry wasnt as big and things where much more expensive back then. Style and fashion got more recognition because the queens made a lot of their stufg themselves. Look at the newer seasons. Most of them come with already finished outfits.

Santino came across not so bad when watching the early seasons, a few of the rotating judges such as Billy B. translated to me as being way harsher…
But you’re right, it’s usually the queens themselves who have been quite outspoken about how considerably they detested Santino, which actually surprised me.
You also have to bear in mind though that it appeared reality television show runners used to believe that having harsh _“Simon Cowell”-esque_ judges made for great television, publicity, buzz, attention, “entertainment”, etc… So it was not uncommon in the earlier days of reality T.V for some competition shows to have judges equipped with viciously-laced tongues, in the hopes for higher viewership.
At that time Santino was riding off the fame and following they had gained with their time on _“Project Runway”_ as well. 😅👌🏾✨

Santino was never out to actually critique. All he did was read, and think his opinion was the one that mattered the most because he was on project runway. He was a mean girl for no reason
This was during the time of the rude mean judge popularized by Simon Cowell on American Idol. I'm not saying Santino was right, but that was the role he was assigned to play. Every reality show at that time had to have an asshole judge.
We need Latrice’s SnapBack, “take off your cap, your balding bitch,” every time he comes for Pandora.

We all know that 5th Place is usually meant for the fan favorite (Ongina, Pandora, Dela, Katya, etc.), and occasionally it’s for a 6th place queen (Willam, Nina West, Heidi, Utica, etc.). Heck, you could even throw 4th place in there too (Yara, Latrice, Chi Chi). So those “close to the finale” spots really do seemed to be *reserved*.

Its kinda crazy how different fashionwise in the runway it was in the s1 to like s8/9 (really more pronounced in the s1-6 era) where the looks had i feel a bit more character than nowadays because stuff wasnt so produced and accessible as nowadays. Ultimately it's a good thing, but deep down i feel like i enjoy much more the older runways because you just know the queens had to really give it all to bring a special look. Also eeally love pandora, she was one of my faves in s2 alongside jujubee and jessica

There must be some comfort in the fact that Pandora's relevancy has outlasted Santino's. Contrary to the common belief that _Drag Race_ was entirely RuPaul's brilliant idea, I'd heard she'd turned down the offers to host any competition-based reality shows for a few years before ultimately signing on primarily because she feared it would have the potential to negatively effect contestants' lives. That sentiment was definitely in-line with her "everybody say love" and "love yourself" mantras (and could be the reason Ru leaves the criticism to the other judges), but if _is_ true, I'll never understand why, of all people, she chose _Santino Rice_ to sit aside her on that judging panel. After his stint on _Project Runway,_ he'd gone back to relative obscurity, but anyone that watched his stint on _that_ show remembered him as an abrasive, villanous contestant and the last voice _anybody_ needed in a position to judge.
....Therefore, in retrospect it _does_ make perfect sense to put him on the _Drag Race_ judge's panel. I mean, unlike a good number of "celebrity" guest judges that have sat up there since him, he'd at least been to a drag show prior.

I love Pandora’s s style. I didn’t agree with a lot of Santino’s critiques. He was very harsh, and in my opinion, wasn’t qualified to be a judge.I watched his season of Project Runway….

Santino seemed like a guy who was very insecure about himself, at least to me, thats what he portrayed on RPDR and on social media. I feel like him not winning PR, probably screwed his head up and thats where the insecurity really started to pick up for him imo. I didnt like him on RPDR as a judge because pandora is right, he was an a$$hole because i believe he was jealous of a lot of girls that made better outfits and garments than him. I believe he was jealous of pandoras skills and fashion sense and thats why he was so nasty to her. I feel the same way with other queens he was mean to as well. Like when the outfits looked great and polished, santino would be like ugh, this isnt you, it looks horrible etc etc.

Ok, but why was that man a judge to begin with?
I mean, I think it's great that Pandora is getting more respect these days, however there's no denying that many of her looks were not great on S2.
No one is saying that she's not a good drag queen just because her looks weren't always on the same level as some of the other queens she competed against. But Drag Race is very focused on the visual aspects of drag, and if we're not allowed to say that people could improve certain parts of their drag then why even have a judge's critique at all?

Yeah I’m assuming she’s talking about that area where Dela, Katya, etc left… I feel like they take the most likable person because they want cattiness for the finale and they think people who won’t get into drama won’t make for interesting story
