Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for uploading this and all the others. I’m a mom just trying to build a fire pit patio by myself and I’m looking for all the videos I can before I begin. Thank you for showing me how to cut my angles. I’m so nervous I feel sick. I’ve been saving money for a while to be able to do this on my own and I feel better now that I’ve found your channel. Now if you see this comment, could you please tell me if it’s ok if I purchase stones from Home Depot? And if so, should I get the blocks with the holes in them too? I wish you guys lived near Chattanooga! Thanks for your time.

My pleasure, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad the videos are giving you more confidence with your project. You can certainly get the blocks from home depot but I always recommend solid blocks for firepits.
Not sure if you saw the videos I have on building block fire pits but here are a couple videos👉th-cam.com/video/1NKp3rw12aw/w-d-xo.html

Great video. Can a straight wall like this hold a couple feet of garden loam without needing to offset for retention?

Thank you and yes, it could definitely hold back a couple feet by building straight up and down. I build 4' high vertical retaining walls regularly ✌

Good video. Why is it that you build your wall after you build your patio instead of before?

In some situations I will build the wall first but for sitting walls, it saves so much time to build after. Plus, when your doing a circle it is almost impossible to line the wall up exactly where it needs to be. So I make the patio radius how I want it to be and build the wall at the same grade my pavers are laid. I hate having to cut the pavers right up against the wall… this prevents that headache

Sweet video and good work! Quick question. I'm building my own patio and don't own a splitter. Could I just purchase a corner peice to give the finished edge? Would that be equivalent? Thanks!

Thanks a lot! And yes, almost all split faced wall systems have separate corners that you can order. Most times the corners are more expensive than the regular block but worth every penny! ✌🏻
