The James R. Barker... Its simple... If you've got it..Flaunt it! Rock on James R. Barker Rock on!! Put on your show. We love the entertainment! We love you! Great approach shot entering the Canal. Shes a commander of attention and a fine looking lady. Love that billowy huge smoke plume as she leaves the Canal. A wonderful cameo shot of the Burns Harbor...shows her massive size! Departure view of James R. Barker.. Fantastic...you holding on to it till she had almost disappeared..A wonderful video of a Laker that " puts on a show". Thank you!
I've heard many Master Salutes from numerous vessels but there is NO doubt about one thing. The Barker really does it right! You guys are the champs hands down!
The first time I heard the horn of this ship,I was standing over my bathroom sink washing my hands while a video was playing featuring large vessels,it scared me out of my skin, that is literally the baddest " mamma jamma" of a horn I have ever heard!!
That Barker bark!!! Nothing, but nothing beats it!!!!!! Awesome video!! Really enjoyed watching and listening to the magnificent horn of the JRB!! Thanks for sharing this!!!
The Lift Bridge return Salute sounded rather whimpey after that epic Master Salute from the Barker. The views of these huge ships gliding and maneuvering so gracefully through the water is mesmerizing. You are one lucky guy to be there up close and personal with them. As always, thank you for sharing your great camera work, editing and info.
What a blast! Juxtaposed the quiet of the waves at the beginning of the video to the mighty horn salutes from the ship as she departs for the lake. Thank you! 👍🏽
Yes, you do not have to leave home just sit down at your computer and travel around the world. Ride a train, get on a cruise ship, get on a plane and see the world without buying tickets. It only costs you a You Tube subscription. Then you can download videos to watch them over and over when you want.
She commands the waters, she commands the ports, and wowie zowie does she command the air waves!~what a great and grand salute for every one of us! Thank you for showing this now, so we can watch it again during layup! Your videos are so good, always new and always exciting, thank YOU!
Thank you! I hope people can enjoy these videos for years to come. I also have several videos “in the can” for winter layup… so we have new stuff to view in February and March. 😁
Hi. You’re quite correct about ‘natural’ noise. It’s quite soothing with the sound of the waves. I’m not having much luck with your older stuff. You keep putting up new stuff. But DONT stop please xx
My goodness! How I love some early Good Morning Barking from one of my two favorite ships to traverse mighty Lake Superior. The other is the legendary Arthur Anderson. Legends each!
I wonder when the new fleetmate - Mark W. Barker - is going to come online. She was launched last fall, but they had to do final outfitting. Hpefully she can get out there this year.
The captain must have the best time with that!
Barker sure has the voice for it! If I had a horn like that I'd honk it as long as I can.
Nice to see that the Barker is still showing off! Love it
Thanks Steph! Good to see you around. 🙂

James R. Barker: accept no substitute.
Thanks Carolyn! Glad you liked the last shot. I like to end on an interesting view.

The salute is even better in person. You can feet it vibrate in your chest!
My thoughts exactly
Thank you for the videos would like too see in person some day
Absolutely loved this video. With the Barker doing a 70 second Master salute and all the close views of it. Thanks so much for sharing.
What a blast! Juxtaposed the quiet of the waves at the beginning of the video to the mighty horn salutes from the ship as she departs for the lake. Thank you! 👍🏽
Thanks Ron!

I am lucky enough to be able to hear the boat horns from my house

That is a beautiful salute
Too cool, awesome salute!

I try to do a new ship video every other day! 🙂
@@1Long2Short Really! Oh dear. I best learn how to multitask. Did the tug Superior get ‘unsunk’ do you know please? Xxx
Yes, the Superior is back on top of the water again!
Now this one should be made into a phone ringtone
You made my day! Safe sailing
That girl can holler!!!
Im always amazed by how quietly she creeps by and yet how majestic her horns are.
Captain Newland sure knows how to use the best sounding horn on the lakes, use it often, and use it loud!!
Awesome! Gorgeous video!
Great Video
Majestic, commands respect.
Definitely has its own sound. Purely awesome 👍
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved it.
The Big Gun of the lakes
I work a smaller shipping company in Sweden, and that horn is always nice to hear.
But this means.
GET THE HELL OUGHTA MY WAY!

Legends each!
Love it
Yep, he sure plays to an audiance.
Love, love, love ❤️ 🤓
Geez what a monster horn
Footnote to my original comment: The lift bridge needs horns similar to the Barker, so the bridge response sounds more maritime than like a truck.
⏱️ That's what I'm talking about! 📢👍🏼😎
Showing off gangsta style
I wonder when the new fleetmate - Mark W. Barker - is going to come online.
She was launched last fall, but they had to do final outfitting. Hpefully she can get out there this year.
They'll have to get all three Barkers together for a family portrait.
I think they were planning on July this year for going into service. I’m not sure if that had changed.
She always gave the fans what they want
Unless the relief captain is in charge. 😆
huge
Oh I love this ship!!! And it's salute. I wish we had some of these in India. Such a manly horn tbh! ❤😄🤘🏻
Guess there's no noise pollution laws in Duluth lol ! Love the Bark !
Loud ships saves lives! 😁
An extra long master salute just a few days prior to Memorial Day………..coincidence?………I think not 👍
70 second salute or 72nd salute? Either way I lost count. 🤷♂️🔊🔊🔊🔉🔉
The 72nd 70-second salute! 😆
@@1Long2Short that is a tongue twister and a brain freeze! 😱🤣
good ol JRB
With all her might.
