    I gotta say, for someone that does this for a living and relies on fitness equipment company relationships to feed his family, Coop consistently gives a REAL review that even has a good amount of negatives. He's not roasting this bench by any means, but being very forthcoming with its flaws while also highlighting the strengths. It builds long lasting trust in all your content. It's refreshing in a TH-cam era where every review you see is someone praising every product they review as the best thing ever made, as they grovel to the company that sent it to them or paid them. I appreciate the pressure to give a good review when a company sent it to you and you rely on that relationship for your job. But, no product is perfect. You're a unique reviewer, Coop, in the best way possible.

    It really doesn't look stable, lol. You're touching it lightly and it already wobbles...
    My main gripe with this bench compared to a movable bench is that this bench has a set position. A movable bench you can move forward or backward, positions can vary widely from exercise to exercise (strict press vs incline vs...) or even body structure.
    Better buy a good, movable utility bench for 600 bucks and spend the other 400 on some extra toys for your gym.

    The setup itself is neat with the folding rack and wall mounted folding bench for those who have small spaces.. the cost however isn't justified at all for both, and there are many solid alternatives for folding squat/power racks and you can get one of those benches that you can hang to the wall or store standing and you are all set... plus I think Coop was being generous in praising its stability when it didn't look particularly stable, may not be terrible, but not really standing out for stability

    Many questions here. Why is Coop reviewing a "prototype" and not waiting for the actual retail version of this bench to review? The public doesn't have access to prototypes and important product features may change by the time it hits market (judging by how poorly this bench appeared, I hope it gets completely overhauled). Also--who wants a folding bench that can't move anywhere and takes up more room than a normal bench? Also who wants to bolt a bench into their wall studs? I literally don't know why someone would want a folding bench when most "free" benches could store vertically. Finally, the cost. Who in their right mind is going to pay a grand for this thing? If this is an indication of PRx's products, they won't be in business for long.

    This only makes sense for someone that is extremely space limited, already has the PRX folding rack, and doesn't care about money. This is less versatile than a standalone incline bench since it can't be moved anywhere. It seems to be harder to use than other competitors products. And it is way more expensive. Even if you own a PRX folding rack, just buy a regular incline bench that stores upright. The only downside is the extra few inches it would stick out from the wall.
    PRX seems to really overvalue their products. From reviews they seem to be pretty decent quality but they are charging premium+ prices.

    It's the quality of life that justifies the price for me. Not having to adjust and readjust the placement of your bench so it's perfectly aligned with the rack for each angle is so money! I am very disappointed in the design critiques though :( coop is definitely right it looks like there is a lot of things PRX could've done to really knock this out of the park, especially at this price point. That being said, I still pre-ordered!

  • @andrewwebster15
    @andrewwebster15 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think it just lacks versatility as well. Often for rows and shoulder work, you’re chest down on the incline, with your head hanging over the top. This just doesn’t allow for that. It also doesn’t let you pull the bench out if you want it for step ups with a bar on your back, etc. It would be great if it weren’t permanently fixed to the wall, but could snap in and out.

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did look at this when testing, and obviously it is bolted to the wall, but when the rack is folded up, one can still perform the majority of movements that one could perform on a free standing unit. Yes, we know there are some that you cannot.

    I have a PRx Rack and was looking forward to seeing this bench. I will not be ordering it because of the price. When you start with the $1000 price tag and realize that the existing PRx bench I have ($350) would be scrapped (market may be limited for resale) this is a $1400 bench. Sorry PRx but I cannot rationalize this purchase.

      It’s not a 1400 bench at all. Your rational is nonsense. Even if you did scrap I’d, you’re not paying 1400. Secondly, if the bench is not destroyed, someone will buy it. If you buy a 20k car, use it until it’s a junker for 2 years, it’s not a 40 grand car to buy a new one. Its 20.

    Coop, I don't understand your scoring system. The value rating on this bench should be completely in the toilet. Is a 6/10 supposed to mean it's better than average value or equivalent to a D-? Because it certainly sounds like if 5 is average, it's value should be about a 0.5.
