  • We've been dying to drive any version of the new Ford Bronco. For one day, we got our hands on a spec we'd never order - a 2021 Bronco Outer Banks. It has leather seats. It does not have the Sasquatch package. And it's more than $52,000 as-tested. And you know what? It's awesome even like this! Is it perfect? No, definitely not. But is it pretty great? Absolutely.

    I have an Outer Banks too and I love it. The only place I drive off road is on the beach and some mild trails. Getting 23 MPG which is not too bad.

    Well done!
    I’ve had my Outer Banks since December AND I LOVE IT!!!!! Only point I “pirate faced” over was the Defender comment. I ordered that bad boy, hoping they would return to the classic body style (c.1990’s)…. Alas, ‘‘twas not to be. (And don’t get me started on the terrible reviews!)
    As luck would have it, I came across the Bronco and the rest is history!
    You may think I’m crazy, but I wouldn’t trade my Bronco if you offered me a G Wagon! (Unless I could sell it and buy TWO Broncos. Love the look of the two door version!)
    Anyway…. Thank you for this review!
    Cheers!

      It starts as more of an everyday driver, but change a few things, and it transforms into something completely different.
      In my case, I added a Badlands suspension, different rims, and 33.5" mud/terrain tires. Instant transformation in how it looks.

  • @TugHillGuy

    Watch Chase Gentry's videos to see what a non-Sasquatch Outer Banks can do off-road. A lot of it has to do with being skilled at picking your lines so you do high-center the vehicle.

    From my personal experience the soft top is quieter than the hard top. The wind noise is much louder on the hard top with the roof rails. It also has a constant popping sound.

    You want to ditch everything about the Outer Banks package that makes this rolling breadbox even remotely considerable in the first place. Reality check, Jeff: Most Sasquatch package buyers won't drive this off pavement more than once a year. The OB trim makes sense for 97% of buyers at this inflated price.

    • @sappyjohnson
      @sappyjohnson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most serious off roaders are going to mod this thing like crazy and the sasquatch package will not satisfy them either. You are correct.

    • @mpeugeot

      Other than the Badlands and First Edition, the OBX is just as capable as any of the other trim levels depending on the options that you have selected.
      As someone who didn't get the Sasquatch package, yet, with a Badlands suspension and a set of 33.5" tires; it is insanely capable.
      Wouldn't want anything less than the lux package and I couldn't get a cloth interior on the Badlands.

    The only thing i don't like about the new bronco no third row seats. Ford should make one with third row or if a third row fits in the current new bronco then have it as a option. Also a option with a rear only soft top were the third row would be and keeping the the hard top on the driver and rear passengers on the second row.

    • @Bacnow
      @Bacnow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I doubt that third row seating would fit the rugged image that Ford is trying to convey for this SUV! Besides, they already have that niche filled with the Excursion, Expedition, Explorer, Flex etc….
