I ride old air cooled thumpers, and saw the picture of Scott holding his XR600. His hall of fame speech was very genuine and appreciative. He seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Such a legend. Hearing how humble he is for his accomplishments makes me understand even more why I always put Scott on a pedastool. Same as Johnny Campbell. Heroes. Makes the desert sport better!

Scott was great and very humble guy, I raced GNCC during the 90`s and also rode a XR600, anytime I had a problem I would talk with him, he would give any advice he could. Even gave me his home number to call him for some info. One time he was at a local hare scramble, after racing for 2 hrs, asked him if he would take my bike for a ride to try and feel a handling problem for me. No problem took it for about 10 mins or so and gave me his input before even taking a drink. Maybe 1 or 2 guys back then would have done that.

Now this was great to watch and hear!👍😊. I live in Norway, raced enduro for many years, subscribed to all motorcycle off road mags, dirt bike and dirt rider included. Went over the pond in 1998 to spectate the GNCC guys in the Manahawkin round that year. Awesome experience although my hero, Mr Summers, crashed in the very first turn and had to withdraw from the race. Hatch won in the end. All the best from me in Norway 😃

Scott is an awesome guy, I was fortunate enough to race against him briefly in 91-92 & become friends with him.

I’m a proud member of the “Scott summers shoulder bump” club. When you’re too slow in a race, or at least slower than Scott, you got a shoulder bump as he passed. This was at eagle in N ky. Dude was awesome.
