It's awesome that y'all are posting so many videos featuring the XR600R. I've got a 1995 XR600R in pieces that I am working on restoring. It was in pretty rough shape when I bought it last year. I love learning more about this bike and seeing other people's. Keep it up!
Nice bike guys. Motor sounds tight. The floats seem stuck hence the petrol pissing out and idling weird lol. Love these Hondas!! Those rear drums.....work.
Some things to keep an eye on with the early RFVC motors is valve adjustment, check it frequently as they have a tendency to tighten up, timing chains will stretch and the automatic tensioner has a limited amount of travel so the chain requires periodic replacement if that gets overlooked it will bend valves and then it starts to get expensive also second gear on early models had a tendency to shear off the engagement cogs, I built and raced an 87 Al Baker XR280 with WP suspension for many years awesome bike and is the same design engine, XR's Only is a great source for anything XR related especially for performance upgrades.
I bought an 88 in Southern California last year for $1800, just needed registration and minor repairs I did myself, with extra wheels, fenders and seat. Awesome bike.
Sweet ride, congrats on the purchase. Love the look of the 80's XRs. Curious if you are planning any suspension upgrades. I know you run your '94 stock. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the cartridge vs. non-cartridge fork in particular.
Mine is a 1990 with 94 suspension front and rear. the 88 to 90 models have the older style dampening rod forks, 91 up have cartridge forks. You can make the older forks good with racetech emulators though. Have you ridden a bored out 600 yet?
@@johnmeurer4780 the 650L is pretty de-tuned for street legality. The new ones have that smog pump system that you have to delete, electric start only, and all the extra lights and such. I’d like to see bikes like the 400r and 600r that come ready to race in a sense with a good state of tune stock and a lot lighter

Look on Kelly blue book, but it really depends on where you are and how many are near you. If you live in a big city you might be able to charge more then when you are in the middle of nowhere.
When you ride a motorcycle, seatbelts in cars don't seem as necessary. I always use a seatbelt, but I can see how it is weird for people who race. Just being in a car is so much safer with all that crumple zone. The risk is still there, but on a bike you will pretty much just die if you get hit by a car.
I'm not against seatbelts. I wear them when we're moving faster. but when I'm in a residential neighborhood going 40 or less I never thought it was necessary
@@k.snyder_812 yes, because some people don't believe the government should be required or allowed to dictate the safety of a single person, especially when there are exceptions to the seatbelt laws to begin with. Again, not my practice, but there are plenty of people who think this way.

Hello, I just restored a 98 xr and there are some things that I did not like, the front brake caliper does not brake well no matter how much I bleed it, the engine is too rough and I think it will be due to the carburetor and the silencer not It has db killer and I can't find one so the noise is deafening gives a headache I'm thinking of putting the original but it doesn't have db killer either th-cam.com/video/MSMF953KCOo/w-d-xo.html
Hello from Argentina, I ask you if you could make more videos trying to start the motorcycle with a pedal, kick the woman and do not turn on, do not start and give her the kick many times without a helmet barefoot or in flip-flops.
