On 19 September 1987 Jaz Coleman had delivered a lecture at London's Courtauld Institute outlining the thinking behind the then-unreleased Outside the Gate album, touching on numerology and the occult. Geordie Walker on electric guitar and Jeff Scantlebury on percussion provided a minimal musical backing at the event.

Congrats, you just joined a special club...... of completists, nutters, ravers, the terminally bored, the innocent Deaf that don't hear it, Jaz's mom, Kurt Cobain, people that watch train wrecks, Yoko Ono, narcoleptics, flat earthers, moon landing Deniers, Atlantian apologists, Moonbeam avoiders, unconscious nosepickers, the Tin hat Squad, cool aid mixers, homeless trying to get out of the cold, the janitor who backed out of the room....looking scared thinking... crazy white people! , the afternoon drunk in the last row, Pyramid Humpers, an elderly German tourist couple....confused and lost..., killing Jokes manager...pulling his hair out, Geordie's airhead supermodel girlfriend so full of Coke she gets it, disguised Martian spies who are terrified, addicts waiting for the Methadone clinic next door to open.
meanwhile... Big Paul, Raven and Youth were in the Pub, laughing their asses off.

It always fascinates me to listen to this and then follow it with the Outside the Gate album. I'm not saying these talks are brilliant, but it shows some interesting insight into the creative process.

Every time I listen to this I acquire some new meaning or the same meaning held up to a different light... Somethings in this are hard to decipher what he is actually talking about, and or referring to. Does anyone know where I can get some full un-biased summaries on this? I'm looking for "The Courtauld Talks" 4 Dummies or the Cliff Notes on this (LOL 4-Real)...
