Has this spot gotten worse over time? I’ve done okay in the back of lynnhaven but where you are never catch anything but the occasional ray or toadfish
when you gonna head out again may see you out there Im new to kayak fishing and want to catch some nice flounder or sheepshead let me know.. great videos!!
Jesus the regulations are unfair. It's 18" in NJ. If you had any idea how many 16" and 17" fish I throw back it would make your head spin. They need more uniform coastal regulations. I understand the northern stock of flounder tend to be bigger but it's no where even close to being 2 inches on average.
now there talking 19 inches and only 2 keepers instead of 5 per fisherman but u have to understand they are a specific targeted species in nj if you look other places they have so much other fish to target they dont really mess with flounder i know thats all i fish for in the summer but i am limited to what species i go for i fish from kayak myself.
It's all the same ocean with a shared biomass. Meaning a flounder that is tag off of NJ one year can end up off the coast of Virginia the next year. I just don't get why a person who lives in a less populated area gets to keep more fish than another area when it's all the same biomass of fish to begin with. Why not have regulations broken down by county while we are at it? At the end of the day plenty of PA fisherman fish in NJ waters and take fish, I don't see why someone living in NJ has to pay for that. Just have more coastal fair regulations. The only thing I know is that the average fisherman in Delaware takes more fish out of the Atlantic than in NJ because they can keep 16" fish year round.
virginia beach is one of the most densely populated areas on the entire east coast. its varies a lot here for a while it was 19" min. caught so many between 15-19".

The old bridge was so much better for fishing. Maybe over time it will come back but I am not sure
Awesome man. I just bought a yak and hope to get out for the first time this weekend!

I fish almost every weekend, gonna try some new spots coming up though... thinking of checking out the Rudee inlet soon
What was the poundage of the line? Idk if it was in the video or not...
Jay Wat 15 lb braid, 20 lb leader
what kind of scent are you using ?
Wayne LaMarche Pro Cure Flounder Pounder
15.5" and it's shy of legal? here in Fl they only have to be 12"
Have to be 16" in VA. I was shocked by that size limit when I went to FL. You can still see light through a 12"er!
What Lure are you using ?
Gulp Darter Head in 1/4 or 1/8 oz depending on current with 4 inch Gulp Pogy's for bait
