Lol..."sketchy-ass" popcorn. That was a good one Shizuka 😂. That creepy vending machine area I can imagine must have felt kinda... yuck! Haha. Thank you for taking one for the Japan by Food Team! ❤
Thank you for sharing with us. Your videos are helping me stay alive. My Japanese mother just passed in April at only 73, and she was born in Naha, Okinawa. Love your videos, thank you.
That first vending machine with the tonkatsu ramen looked so good!! Really though, the best part of this video is towards the end when you read that not a toilet sign. When you threw your head back laughing and said "oh my god!" I also laughed so hard. I watched that part 6 times! Thank you !! 🤣😂
I accidentally found the last vending machine area while wandering the back streets of Akihabara last month. I promise you, it's more sketch than she makes it look - it's old, dark, and kind of like a little maze. There was something like bear sausage in a tin can and other nasty things. The boxes with the text on 'em say some bizarre things, like a story about some kid accidentally cutting himself while shaving his pubes. Thankfully Shizuka saved me 980 Yen by letting me know it's a box of animal crackers.
If there's ever a calamity that wipes out humans but leaves machines and power lines intact, future alien archeologists could be checking out vending machines serving mummified food.
japan looks a amazing country my favourite band comes from japan tokyo ska paradise orchestra i am fascinated by all the different food drinks ecc you have is is on another planet compared to england keep up the great work steve east london
I've been wondering where to find the cake in a can since I saw an article about it a while ago. Looks like I'll be stopping by the Skytree the next time I'm in Japan.
when I think of quality food coming out of a vending machine I think it's the wave of the future, but I guess Japan has been having it for awhile, it also is convenient if all the shops are closed, I'm glad you guys visited Akihabara, I'd love to peruse some of their vending machines (for research purposes of course) 😄
Japan has the most insane vending machines, in the best way possible. The variety of products, locations and conveniences of the machines makes Japan a cool place to get the best food and goods on the streets than in a store.
I saw you filming at the sketchy vending machine place back in February! I was wondering when this video would upload. I wanted to say hi but I didn't want to bother you.
The ramen and salad looked so tasty Shizuka! I wish we had those vending machines in Los Angeles. But the Horror Vending Machines looked creepy! I hope you were not scared and frightened Shizuka!
Yo-kai is actually headquartered in Fremont, CA. Of course, they know that Japan is one of the best markets to test their system. There's one in San Jose-Mineta International. Anyway thanks for the video!
This video made me so envious. I’d have to travel 40 miles to get ramen or a salad like that (from a restaurant). I am curious though, this looks like it could produce a significant amount of waste. Are there accessible recycling bins around or does a lot of it end up on the streets?
While I was in Japan, the only thing I got from a vending machine was a Coke several times, absolutely best Coke ever and was extremely surprised that it was tart. Strawberry shortcake looks so delicious coming from a can and your eyes lit up while trying it. Absolutely love pistachios. Laughed out loud while you were reading the sign. Absolutely Loved Every Minute Of Your Vending Machine Adventure
We have similar salad vending machine in the US called Farmers Fridge. It’s really good. They also started to incorporate some cold noodle dish as well. Unfortunately, most of these vending machine is only available at the airports.
I think I watched another vlogger cover that exact same spot of vending machines with the random boxes. A Japan trip isn’t complete without trying at least of those weird ass vendos. Would love to try that ramen vendo though.
Can you please explain how the lighting in your videos is so good when you're going through various settings 0_0. There's almost no difference between the quality of the outside shots and the quality of the indoor ones. I ask as someone that took video inside the subway and those lights were NOT flaterring XD
i've been to that horror vending machine, that's crazy scary at night, stayed near there, hotel is like 50 meter from that place, via inn JR East Hotel
Ha I recognize that little nook in Akiba. It definitely smelled like people were using it as a bathroom when I went to check out the vending machines there...
I don’t think I’m that bougie 😆 but we cut out scenes with the boxes with creepy letters on them that included weird explicit stories…. It all gave me a super creepy and gross vibe about the place! 😬😅
very interesting...!!!! THE CAKE ONE MADE MY MOUTH SALIVATE LOL
😂 actually cackled at "sketchy ass popcorn" 😂 you were so uncomfortable, it was hilarious!
But the cake vending machines ❤️ 🥰
Another fantastic Shizuka vlog
Thank you so much 😊
The Ramen didn't look bad, but I would have to go for the cake in a can.
Thank you very much!!

🤣 Glad you liked it!
Awesome episode..i loved the cake vending machine.I was literally salivating.Yum. thank you Shizuka san.

Great video. Stay hungry my friend!
Awwwww vending machines 🫶
The world is surely a better place with them on it. We should export japanese vending machines everywhere. lol
So convenient!

Such great quality of food from these machines! Great video thanks!
You're welcome!
Japan seems to take a concept to the next level. This looked awesome. Shizuka you were so apprehensive at the last stop but also very cute. 😊
She cute

Shizuka さんありがとうございます for sharing this 🙏🏼 How do they get the cake in the can? 🤔 This is really cool though!
I'm so hungry I could eat food from a vending machine... Seriously, the first three food vending machines looked amazing. Nice finds.
Sometimes, it is surprisingly good!

I love this video!!!!! It made me smile
Thanks, glad to hear that!
Yeh I heard that strawberry short cake is so so so good!!!! From a few different people!!!!! Gotta try it!!!! In 1 week !!!!😬🤘🏻🍓
A fan favourite for sure!

The ramen and cake concepts would do well in the UK.
That salad looks so nice❤
I fell in love with Japan and her. Amazing video btw ❤
Yo-Kai Express! 👏👏👏
I saw you filming at the sketchy vending machine place back in February! I was wondering when this video would upload. I wanted to say hi but I didn't want to bother you.
if it was me, I would have invited them for a meal, I bet they would have shown it in some episode
Oh really? You can always come to say hi to us!
dang! i was in Ueno for a few days last month and missed that ramen machine!
Maybe you'll see it next time!
4:10 those look like the one you get from also Costco or target ❤ and yes there is a Costco in Japan and everything is better
Those vending machines look too fun!
The ramen and salad looked so tasty Shizuka! I wish we had those vending machines in Los Angeles. But the Horror Vending Machines looked creepy! I hope you were not scared and frightened Shizuka!
Thanks for your comment!
Shizzy, shizzy, let's go vending machine eating!!! 😊
Let's go!

The noodles looked great

Looking at the salad containers and the machine layout, I think that is a Farmer's Fridge. Just branded for Japan.
Wow it’s big.
I love that you put the text “Sketchy ass pop corn” on screen 😂
:P
I stay in Ueno and will be checking out that ramen machine next trip.
Good idea!
Impressive 😉😉
😉
this is sooo cool!
Thanks for your comment!
That orange juice must be bitter. Shizuka only took one mouthful 🤣
In Inokashira Park, in western Tokyo, there is a candied wasp larvae vending machine if you're brave enough!
Hi Shizuka!
Hiiii! 👋🏼
I think I watched another vlogger cover that exact same spot of vending machines with the random boxes. A Japan trip isn’t complete without trying at least of those weird ass vendos.
Would love to try that ramen vendo though.
TokyoLens and Sharmelon did videos about that spot years ago. Kinda cool that it's still there.
Didn't know that there were kua aina burger restaurants outside of here in Hawaii so i was surprised when I heard you mention their name
Yep, right there at Sky Tree:)
There are a bunch of them in Tokyo
there's a bunch of hawaii restaurants: pig and the lady, island vintage, honolulu coffee, cafe kaila, peace cafe, eggs n things.
@@johnnysheretoo True, Japan has a lot of satellite restaurants from all over the world. That's why Tokyo is considered a food mecca.
yeah akihabara is awesome
so cool!
Oh my gosh ...she's so pretty ...awesome travel video
Thank you!

The vending machine with fresh salard was the biggest impression. This daily delivery.
Is very impressive the variety and the quality of fast and cheap food or snack in Japan!
Indeed!
Sketchy ass popcorn was my favorite. 😂
😂
Shizuka! Not BEFRS but i clicked anyway.
I wish we have vending machines like those in the US, especially the Ramen one
Let's hope it can happen one day!
So Lovely 🎉
Yesss
"Sketchy Ass Popcorn" 😆
The Ramen and Cake looked great, the Weird not so much hahaha Pass - Cheers
i've been to that horror vending machine, that's crazy scary at night, stayed near there, hotel is like 50 meter from that place, via inn JR East Hotel
That place kinda creeped us out!
Can't understand why Canada doesn't adapt this idea....or anywhere else for that matter. Love the vendies!
Maybe one day?
Does anyone know what the prices are? Or just a rough idea? I'm interested in the salad/juice one!
Ha I recognize that little nook in Akiba. It definitely smelled like people were using it as a bathroom when I went to check out the vending machines there...
the cake vending machine in osaka namba shopping center is 100% the best packaged cake cream ever!
Good to know!
Hi Shizzy!!! Today I am a ramen vending machine. 😊
where do you put the money and where do you discharge! 🤣
@@jomangeee You use the app & scan your phone. Then I make robot sound, then do the robot, then I hand deliver the ramen. See? 😊
I like her coat.
Shizuka Surf 7 😅
I wish we had these in the US
Didn't know Shizuka was so bougie 😂
I don’t think I’m that bougie 😆 but we cut out scenes with the boxes with creepy letters on them that included weird explicit stories…. It all gave me a super creepy and gross vibe about the place! 😬😅
@@ShizukaAnderson hahaha, fair enough. Cheers!
If I were you, I would try all the dessert in that dessert vending machine. 😊
Agreed! But it might be too much
Yum salad in a jar..fuking brilliant could use the jar to mix the dressing so it doesn't get every where 👁️🕳️👁️
Salad in a jar looks good on Instagram but eating from it looks inconvenient
I was disappointed there was nowhere to sit down nearby to eat it! Seems like it’s a take-to-work or home kind of thing.
1200 yen for a small bottle of juice tho. i wonder if that's a standard price or you can get it cheaper in a normal store.
I want to go to Japan and only eat from vending machines....with Shizuka
Japan By Food 💕
Thanks for the support!
This host should be the vending machine tester
Could be a new life goal (especially with the big potential in Japan)!
Nothing beats a good old bowl of ramen, my preference is beef ramen
Good choice!
Looks tasty
Woah, powerful last line on that massive sign! FOREVER and for PUBLIC VIEWING” 😮
Yeah, definitely makes people reconsider!:P
That vendo Ippudo ramen looks legit.
it tasted legit too!
Love it when my Ramen is loading.
you know you're obsessed when you just screamed "sakura" at 13:41
😂
13:08 - I've had those animal crackers before. 👍
We have a Yo-Kai here in San Francisco.
That’s where the company originates from apparently!
OK, next, please introduce the recently popular unmanned stores in Japan. Foreigners will be surprised.
Noted
Nice vid. But some prices would have been nice….
Thanks. Noted!
what were the prices of all these items?
Cool video but a cost would be good to know
Would love to do a Vending Machine tour!
Good concept!
i need that strawberry shortcake in my life!
PS I love Shizuka 😍
I have such a crush on Shizuka. She's gorgeous, affable, has a great sense of humour, and seems like she'd be such a wonderful partner!
