From the video thumbnail alone, I thought the palm trees were a real life photo reference. Fantastic work, and thank you for your video!
What a lovely compliment. Thank you!
This is gorgeous. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to paint. After watching this, I am going to MAKE the time and try to recreate what you've done. Thanks for the inspiration.
Yay! This is actually a pretty quick painting, so I know you can find the time to do it. Have fun!
Hi Jackie, more watercolor painting tutorials please!
If you could paint without masking fluid, that'll be great. Yhank you
Please check out my other videos. I have other tutorials without masking fluid.
I would have added a few lines of masking fluid where the waves come up on the shore as well as a few more out on the water as highlights from the waves on the water before applying the blue for the water.
I’ve only done a small amount of watercolor, but I’m excited to try this!
Yay! This is a fun way to play with wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry.
This is so beautiful. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
Just love this video
Thank you.
You’re a great teacher! Thanks for this lesson!
Thank you and your welcome.
Really beautiful! I am just starting out. I actually signed up for a beginner watercolor class, and it was terrible. I learned more from all of you on TH-cam than I did the class. Can you tell me what you had your paper taped to? And when I wet my paper it buckles on me can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Oh no. I’m glad you’re still focused on learning. For paper smaller than 8x10” I tape it to a plexiglass sheet that is 1/4” thick. You can get them in different sizes at the hardware store or on Amazon. Taping your paper down will help with the buckling. When it’s taped down it will still buckle, but it will go back to flat once it dries. Buckling is worse with some papers than others. I use Arches 100% cotton cold press paper. I hope that’s helpful. Check out my Watercolor Beginners playlist for more tutorials and tips.
How lovely! (It's FOLIAGE, btw. Not FOILAGE! - FOAL-Y-AGE.)
Yes! Thank you!
