Dude! After watching the river roof trick video, i was trying to figure out a way to do this on my build server. I had almost the same exact foundation layout to make the space smaller, but I couldn't figure out how to get the bobber closer. I didn't even think to use doors. That's genius!
My line constantly breaks or fish get away when I try this. Any ideas why? I am waiting until I get a tug then trying to press the 3 buttons in a row, but the fish gets away right away
Game is human made environment with its own tools and constraints. You used those tools and constraints to make something useful / beneficial to you. Now replace word "game" with economy, medicine, ... all of which are human made environments with its own tools and constraints. And i have no doubt that you, such a smart person, will be successful in life !
@@BooBooMushu a rework of fishing would be so cool. Being able to tightline fish in the rivers, new fishing rod, fishing while sitting in a boat, all that.
Really creative, however considering how much easier the river base is, i don't think its worth the extra potential scrap. But if you keep working on this base, and find a way to make it even simpler, it will blow up for sure.

As someone who plays Rust but has never fished before… what exactly is happening here? Is the purpose of the doors simply to push the bobber? How does this result in a caught shark? Cheers and cool vid
when you fish, the bobber will go all over the place and fish will figh/break your line. this way lets you pick them up right away. you wont get a shark all the time. its a chance, but since you now farm fast, you catch a lot more
Yeah I did try to add another double door on the same button to push the second player forward but the line clips in the open door. The design is still amazing but it's a little less appealing to spend 30k stone on a solo fishing base. I haven't put a lot of time into it but I also don't have your building ingenuity hehe

You can use kayaks and subs in groups. it pushes the bobber really easy. I just couldnt show it cause i dont know enough people. I dont have total build cost sorry. mybad
Trying to figure out how to make it less finicky, but haven't had any good solutions. From what I can tell, the waves that ripple through the ocean dictate a successful push vs a line collision break. Any luck making this one better?
You can use an elevator and a ramp, but its a lot of work and hard to get right. im really stuck and out of ideas. Since my roof idea was just patched, it makes it so much harder.
@@BooBooMushu The elevator is interesting, causes it to just remain in the box without snapping. Rather than moving the float as it's secure and will not snap while in a raised elevator shaft, is there a way to move the player to the elevator?
So if you put a double door on the outside of the elevator and have it push the bobber down to a ramp it works. you have to open the door while the elevator is in motion or it wont work. the issue is the consistency. its just annoying to use all the buttons to open the door. @@ChandlerFerry
@@BooBooMushuim pretty sure its patched, i have copied everything you do but the game will not allow me to cast the line from where i am standing, the bobber is always red. The only way i can cast the line onto the double doors is of i break the triangle piece infront of me and that doesnt work as the door behind me pushes ne into the water.

I agree, you can set up the doors on timers to make it more afk. requires a lot of power tho
There is a fully automatic version of the doors, but its 2 expensive. The 3 buttons with 3 door controllers is way more cost effective.

Extra added benefit of the button system is no external electrics like solar panels, or noisy generators.

Are you able to back up? the bobber is landing too far from the door. it has to land before the middle of the door or it will get cut

It's a great concept, but is easily greifed, very unique and interesting but on anything besides pve you would have problems 😊
