- THE NOTEBOOK includes the entire scene of the two out on the lake, and the entire scene in the rain. Good quality audio and video, and synchronized properly. Great scene, obviously the kiss in the rain, but Noah out on the lake with the ducks as well... Enjoy!

This is nice because rain is mostly used as a symbol of sadness or even anger in film, but here it is the catalyst for Allie to wash away her fake, refined behaviour and become her true self again. The rain is when her emotions change from sadness and regret to laughter and happiness.
Actually, there is some anger and resentment here. After Allie finishes laughing in the boat, you can see their expressions change and their faces get a little hardened and stern. Allie’s mother had intercepted the letters Noah had been sending, so they were both under the false impression that the other had moved on. It’s understandable that there would be some underlying tension that needed to be resolved.

You are so right. I've been in this situation. I had my "Noah" and things got difficult and we fell apart. I met someone else, but he waited. He waited for me to come back...and I did. I realized that what I was looking for I'd had all along. I realized I had already found the man who will take care of me through thick and thin, who would gladly lay in bed w/ me and die with me just so we don't have to be apart. I bawl like a baby every time I see this movie. We're going on 20 yrs together now.

That might be because ther is no romantic music added in real life but I'm pretty sure that's not the biggest case. You see the important thing is feeling good when being with the person you love. Once you really love someone you'll know it. It just gives you the feeling of being where you belong to be. A relationship like the one in the movie rarely or doesn't ever happen. That's just because now it's so easy to move on people won't put in any effort to stay. You need to find someone who is willing to stay and willing to give you love. People need to understand that love is not one big summer romance it also comes with arguments and difficult times. But if you and your partner are willing to love each other besides all that you know it's not just anything. I think that is real love, being able to laugh and just enjoy the moments of life with each other. And I believe you'll find that.

I like this scene, but i think when she was waiting for him to write to her why didn't she go to the mail box herself instead of letting her mom get the mail for her, knowing that her Mom didn't let her be with him,

Most women (especially) feel like they don't have a true Love Relationship with the man that they are meant to be with Bc of Movies. This is my favorite Romantic Movie, I admit it but Rarely do things ever end up being so perfect. And it's our idea of what Love is supposed to be like that ruins everything for someone who might just have the right person for once it's Just that NOONE IS PERFECT & Timing is not always the best but if you have two very good forgivers, who are committed to each other completely; then you have a whole lot more than most will ever have. A faithful spouse, and someone who loves you through all of your screw ups and you love them through all of theirs... that Love. It doesn't have to look like a scene from a movie but we all know that we want that in our own way we do want ppl to understand us and do romantic things for us and we should be willing to do the same thing for them. But in real life , that rarely happens. So if you have someone who loves you, who would do anything just to see you smile,then be happy Bc you have Love Unconditional and that is So Rare, Bc ppl have to choose to Love another person more than themselves and that's why ppl are so drawn to this movie, to this Love Story, Bc even when she was gone... everything he did, he did it for her. That's all any of us could want. But it's rare Bc ppl in general are not selfless.. unless they are truly in Love and then, it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I've witnessed it in my parents, my aunt & uncle and several other people I have had the pleasure of watching them as they grow old together and they still look at each other now the way Noah and Allie look at each other in this movie... It exists... it just takes a rare man and woman to be completely honest & completely dedicated 100% to each other and to their marriage. Treat her like a Queen and she will be your Queen. I feel like Lon and it totally sucks. I always tried to please my girlfriend, I treated her with respect, supported her and assured her mental comfort. Why didn't Noah just go to her home or her school to confront her. He knew the name of the school she was attending and her new home address as he was sending letters to it. Even if he thought she didn't want to see him, why didn't he at last try. After writing letters repeatedly for several months with no reply and continue to to write, by definition, is insanity. You would think he would change strategy.
Because love can't be simple and logical. It always has to be complicated 😞

Dynamo7 Actually... he knew all that info: name of school and home address BUT if you paid attention to the film... as Noah is writing a letter he says something like: you just answer me and I will do my best to go wherever you are...(Something like that, I improvised but that was the main idea of that letter's subject) And there was NO ANSWER.... so... he just started to deal in his own way with his broken heart and how would he say goodbye for good...

I think Mendez is a typical match for someone like gosling. He is not as cookie cutter as he looks, he is complex inside and that probably gels well behind doors with Mendez rather than who you'd expect.
