Thanks for reacting! Daniel told fans to not worry too much about him. The fact that he can be open and share about the struggles he’s gone/going through shows that he’s a much stronger person. He also said that he kind of enjoyed expressing the madness while singing the song.

Thank you for reacting and also for being thoughtful of Daniel. He actually wrote the lyrics and it came from his experience. Daniel took a break from his career to care for his mental health, he’s always been silent in his struggle & he went through a lot of battle with his former agency (which led into a legal battle that forced him to halt his activities) and many issues (betrayal, fake news & many more) before he established his own agency. This is the first time that he’s sharing to us what he went through, his smiles hides many scars & we’re all glad that he came back even more stronger. Kang Daniel has said in the last few days that he is happier with his life right now than he has ever been.
He was asked about the happiest times in his life and he said now. He also said if he could make any of his songs into a mv that doesn't have one already it would be Flash from Magenta. I love that song as well. Thanks for the react.

Tq for your reaction.. His wrote this lyric by himself based on his experience during his hiatus on 2019..he feel scared because a lot of watching and critic his work
FAILURE and UGLY was carved on his hands. Two words that was always thrown at him in social media platforms and noticed it was designed like he was poisoned by it and maybe that was why he was paranoid.
*During the last clips of the mv, Daniel has a greek phrase written above his right eyebrow, "τα μάτια είναι σπαθί", which translates to "the eyes are like a sword".*
He went through a lot, and he was in the center of negativity for a long time so i think that this encapsulates how he felt during those times, when everybody was looking at him, waiting for him to make a wrong move so they can judge him.
I am so happy for him, for the man he became. I am also thankful he is ok now and I am waiting for him to grace us with more amazing things in the future.

He said he's able to tell this story because he feels better now and that working on a song so personal felt like a healing process to him.
this is about his experience in the past. he went on a hiatus near the end of 2019 until 2020 and was struggling with anxiety and depression. he could make this song and portray this because he moved past it already, so he told us to please focus on the fact that as he is fine now. “failure” and “ugly” (both written on him at the end) were thrown at him a lot around that time in his life, after he had already struggled with his lawsuit against his previous company, fans turning to antis, etc. there is also a part in which it says in greek “the eyes are swords”, which was his experience then of all eyes staring and slandering him etc.

Thank you for reacting and your concern. He is okay now, he just said not to worry about the negative ending. But yes, the lyrics is so personal because he wrote it himself based on his own experience when he was in his darkest days. Thank God he passed the stage and now he can express all his emotions in the best way a singer can do. He said he is glad he can express a bit madness through this song tho. ^^

I legit LOVE IT when Koop groups and soloists go down the haunted path, rather than going for the traditional happy vibe. Your can relate to a dark, haunted song. Happy songs aren’t enjoyable unless you are in a good mood, and no one has had a good mood for the past year.

As someone who has struggled with both anxiety and depression for all of my adult life, these lyrics and the imagery in the video hit me seriously hard. It's virtually impossible to describe how any mental health problem feels to someone who has never been through it but this is pretty damn close.
I can only applaud Kang Daniel for being so honest and brave to turn his struggles into such an amazing song...that is a true artist.

This was a reflection piece of what he’s experienced in 2019.
The lawsuit with his former agency combined with that said former agency’s attempt at a blocking the start to his career without them, add the haters who relentlessly gave him grief at that time; it got to the boy and hence his hiatus from late 2019 to early 2020.
Getting him to debut was a whole journey and it wasn’t an easy one to get through. It’s why Danity are almost overprotective of him at points because the fandom knew what it was like to not have him on the scene (he was quiet from Feb 2019 until August the same year).
Apologies for the essay but he did reassure the fandom that this is more of him finally being able tell the story of what he felt at that point in time, and that he’s okay.

I think you should read a bit about what he went through in 2019 because it would explain why this song is so important and why it's so raw. I know you like his music but there is so much more to him that nonfans haven't really realized. He had to deal with betrayal, harassment, lies, constant online abuse, a poor mental health, all while trying to escape the corrupt industry and establishing himself. To be honest, he wasn't well. This time is the first time since Wanna One disbanded that we can feel he is confident and at peace. He fought for it and worked hard to get well and this release seems to have been the final point in regaining his strength.
Daniel already came out today saying that he's doing fine and these are feelings from past that we went through, so He told us not to worry😊

The message in the song is really from his experience when he had a dispute with his former company and after that he received a lot of hate to the point that he had to take a break because of his anxiety.
