Heather, you were searching for a word in place of “disabilities.” Since my car accident, I call mine “limitations.” For me, limitations only imply that I am limited doing things in the same manner that I did before. I can do them now, just with workarounds, different tools, and/or little extra effort. I am so happy to see your consistent progress. Many blessings to you.
You are right. That's what I call my situation as well. I'm 4 years in with my back injuries. I say I have limited mobility. There are days I'm ok to do everyday things we take for granted, and there are days, I can't even get out of bed or dress myself. We do need to adapt to our new way of having to do things, so "limited" is a more fitting word, at least to both you and myself. Praying for you for continued strength and healing.
Me too! I had tonsil cancer and I have permanent LIMITATIONS on my right side from the extensive neck surgery. Rather than dwelling on the negatives I thank God it is on my right side bc I am sooo left handed/sided. Always find the positive and you will not lose yourself in the negatives. A quick story. My brother, a very angry, negative person said to me, "you have no right to be so happy." Same upbringing, same parents, 18 months apart but 2 dramatically different looks at life.
No one wins in an accident. I was hit 4 times in 4 yrs. I still can drive. Left with PSTD and a blow disk and tendonitis in my arms and my neck and my back. It's been a painful experience. I believe in the power of the mind. I wish you health, wealth and wisdom. God bless 💕
I think she would be more comfortable with challenges. Limits seen finite to me challenge fuels the desire to beat it. It fires up the passion and competitive spirit in her and squashed the defeated attitude that impedes many from the start! Will you accept the challenge or be defined by your limits?

Please do a video on alternate tools and ways to function! I have fibromyalgia and other health issues but I am learning to do things differently than I used to and I’m learning it is ok. Sometimes we just have to be adaptively innovative as we found we can be during the pandemic. Any way we can help and be a blessing to one another and you ladies made me cry tears of appreciation and thanksgiving tonight. God is our healer and provider and He is good through it all! My husband passed when our kids were 7 and 10. Just a word of advice, keep up therapy for them even if they seem okay. Otherwise it all comes out as they reach teenage/young adult age. My youngest had terrible mental health issues starting at about 16. I believe it’s because that’s the age when he could finally process what happened to him. It was really a rough few years for him and for me, watching him go through such turmoil.
My dad passed when I was 10 and it’s affected every romantic relationship I’ve had since. Therapy and counseling help, and so does having an incredibly supportive partner who has helped me see my relationship with my dad prior to his passing in a whole new light. His insight as a father himself has healed me in so many ways and his amazing love has as well. I wish I’d taken therapy more seriously as a child and teenager though. I wholeheartedly could have avoided hurting others because I was hurting. ❤️

You will have waves of grief for ever. My husband died 14 years ago and I still have times (watching your video right after Matt passed) will bring it back. But it’s manageable now and it’s not so debilitating.
Who knows what God has planned for this next chapter in your journey. You are loved by so many and you have brought so many closer to God. Even in your grief He's using you in an amazing way.

I would be interested in seeing a video on how or if you changed your kitchen to be easier for you. I had 5 surgeries in the past 14 months and I really had to simplify my kitchen, declutter, and make some things easier to reach so I could cook again.

Heather, you were searching for a word in place of “disabilities.” Since my car accident, I call mine “limitations.” For me, limitations only imply that I am limited doing things in the same manner that I did before. I can do them now, just with workarounds, different tools, and/or little extra effort. I am so happy to see your consistent progress. Many blessings to you.
You are right. That's what I call my situation as well. I'm 4 years in with my back injuries. I say I have limited mobility. There are days I'm ok to do everyday things we take for granted, and there are days, I can't even get out of bed or dress myself. We do need to adapt to our new way of having to do things, so "limited" is a more fitting word, at least to both you and myself. Praying for you for continued strength and healing.
Me too! I had tonsil cancer and I have permanent LIMITATIONS on my right side from the extensive neck surgery. Rather than dwelling on the negatives I thank God it is on my right side bc I am sooo left handed/sided. Always find the positive and you will not lose yourself in the negatives. A quick story. My brother, a very angry, negative person said to me, "you have no right to be so happy." Same upbringing, same parents, 18 months apart but 2 dramatically different looks at life.
No one wins in an accident. I was hit 4 times in 4 yrs. I still can drive. Left with PSTD and a blow disk and tendonitis in my arms and my neck and my back. It's been a painful experience. I believe in the power of the mind. I wish you health, wealth and wisdom. God bless 💕
I think she would be more comfortable with challenges. Limits seen finite to me challenge fuels the desire to beat it. It fires up the passion and competitive spirit in her and squashed the defeated attitude that impedes many from the start! Will you accept the challenge or be defined by your limits?

Please do a video on alternate tools and ways to function! I have fibromyalgia and other health issues but I am learning to do things differently than I used to and I’m learning it is ok. Sometimes we just have to be adaptively innovative as we found we can be during the pandemic. Any way we can help and be a blessing to one another and you ladies made me cry tears of appreciation and thanksgiving tonight. God is our healer and provider and He is good through it all! My husband passed when our kids were 7 and 10. Just a word of advice, keep up therapy for them even if they seem okay. Otherwise it all comes out as they reach teenage/young adult age. My youngest had terrible mental health issues starting at about 16. I believe it’s because that’s the age when he could finally process what happened to him. It was really a rough few years for him and for me, watching him go through such turmoil.

My dad passed when I was 10 and it’s affected every romantic relationship I’ve had since. Therapy and counseling help, and so does having an incredibly supportive partner who has helped me see my relationship with my dad prior to his passing in a whole new light. His insight as a father himself has healed me in so many ways and his amazing love has as well. I wish I’d taken therapy more seriously as a child and teenager though. I wholeheartedly could have avoided hurting others because I was hurting. ❤️

You will have waves of grief for ever. My husband died 14 years ago and I still have times (watching your video right after Matt passed) will bring it back. But it’s manageable now and it’s not so debilitating.

As a grandma, I see a need for simple home cooked "kids love it food. Your current physical limitations would force you to keep prep simple. And your kids could be the tast testers, maybe not on camera, if that is an issue.

I would be interested in seeing a video on how or if you changed your kitchen to be easier for you. I had 5 surgeries in the past 14 months and I really had to simplify my kitchen, declutter, and make some things easier to reach so I could cook again.

The first video I ever saw of yours was you filming the first time after your accident in the hospital. That video ripped my heart out. I’ve been with my husband for 40 years. We have no children just fur kids. The thought of how I would feel if I lost my husband in such a horrific manner devastates me. It’s so nice to see how far you have come. Allison is an angel.
