It certainly is. When my father passed away in February, God was with me through everything. Comforting me, making a way, and his wonderful presence was indescribable. His funeral was not one of mourning, but of celebration and worshipping God. Although we mourned, it was also a sweet assurance of the certainty that my father would be waiting for us when we go home.
Yes! Karen is right. I lost my husband to cancer 2 years ago too and the Lord has been providing everything I need at each step. It is amazing looking back at it. Your prayers are just as important to this family as financial help. We cannot get through some things on our own, that's when God makes everything possible. Sometime when we are in the middle of grief, hardship, or fear, we can't even find the words to pray, so your prayers are valuable. I have learned myself if I don't know what to pray, I quote Scripture like the 23rd Psalm, sometime when I don't have time (like the time a tornado was heading to my house) I just call on the name of Jesus. I also can't give money but I am praying. Prayers are so important and have gotten me through a lot. God gives a comfort that is like no other. He gives us hope , love , understanding and forgiveness.

Lord please continue in healing this lady during recovery. The hardest thing for me to deal with while I was in law enforcement was the victims of senseless crimes. I may not know this lady personally but my heart cries for this lady.

We reported a drunk driver, he was arrested within 10 minutes of our call. His blood alcohol levels were so high they took him to the hospital. I was not a subscriber but saw your story. I called because of your story. My heart goes out to you and your family and for your loss. Lots of prayers for your recovery physically and emotionally. Your resilience is amazing.

My friend made the beautiful memory quilt for my mother with my Dads clothes, it’s breathtaking and provides her with so much comfort. They were married for 56 years and still madly in love. There are many different patterns to choose from and we chose a tree of life. Each leaf came from a piece of his clothes and the border of the quilt as well. I’m happy to pass on a picture if anyone is interested for ideas. We even had our friend do a carving of their initials on the tree trunk within a heart, absolutely adorable.
For the kids, maybe a teddy bear made of dad's clothes. I made some "daddy bears" for my friend's kids when their dad died of cancer, and at first they just liked to cuddle with them, and after a while they started playing with them together with their other cuddly toys.
I became a viewer because of the accident. And now you are in my thoughts often, even when I’m not watching. Believe it when I say you’re the definition of strength fierceness. Crying is strength, grief is strength, knowing when you need time is strength. Powering thru your rehab to get home to your children is fierceness. I see your light that hasn’t been diminished. So many hugs and love from NJ. You are a true warrior.

@@TheKneadyHomesteader caffeine slows the healing process, they told me that after my skin grafts that I could not have any caffeine for over 8 wks. Which included chocolate and coffee, and they told me to eat lots and lots of protein...

Healing emotionally takes time. No one can set a time frame, everyone is different. Be gentle with youself. The loss of a spouse is difficult; the loss is more challenging than words can say. The pain is personal and very emotional. His last breath on earth was his first breath in Heaven. Hold fast to the Lord. My husband died and I truly have no memory of the 3 months after ...and I don’t care. It took me soooooo long before I could even breathe correctly. Apologize for nothing....your grief will heal as God dictates for you , your body, your family....try to breathe....right now to hold your kids and family and to let them hold you. I had no one. Absolutely no one....and it has scarred me deeply. Please make certain that is not a scar you have, because you have support to not let that happen. My love and hugs...

I am crying with you. I haven't lost a husband but I lost my 19 year old son in a car accident. I cried for a year straight. Every day. I can't tell you that greiving gets better because I would be fibbing. I can tell you that you will cope better with time. One moment you will be good and one moment you wont. I still cry so much for my dear son. This October will be 6 years but to me it was yesterday, thats how my heart feels. I will pray for you and your family. Yes when ppl say time heals all that is not correct!! With time passing we have to work,pray,speak & read Gods Word,& have help!! Then like you said maybe we learn to cope with the sorrow & sadness,pain,& loss a little better,but times it will hit again & when you're not even expecting it so have to grieve & work some more!!

Hi! We lost our daughter at age 26. She was hit on her way home from work on night she was hit at 110 mph by a speeding mustang, 11 years ago. I am so very sorry for everything you’ve been through and still going through. I lost my husband when he was walking with our daughter back to his car after watching a NASCAR race. He was almost to the car when a truck hit him. I had just talked to him 30 minutes prior whe he called to tell me he was heading home. My kids were 19, 11 and 9 at the time. It was so rough. My little girl is now 28 and a mommy of my 2 beautiful grandchildren! I look back and still wonder how we made it but I am pretty sure God has my Steve watching over us. Hang in there. I'm an unborn survivor of a drunk driver. 56 yrs ago. My father was killed and my mom severely injured. I was supposed to be still born but obviously wasn't. My mom didn't walk for 4 yrs but she made it and she walked right up until the day she passed away. Thankfully in her sleep

After our son died in utero, we shut ourselves in to just be together with our daughter and grieve. That was at the end of January and we’re just beginning to re-emerge. Take as much time as you need. ❤️ Grief is a lifelong journey but the soul-crushing sorrow subsides, praise Jesus.

I don’t think I could add much to this. Linda has said it all but I will reiterate this only. God is always there for you and He loves to hear you talk to Him. Pour out your feelings and thoughts to Him. Remember His word says, “ask in my name believing and it shall be given to you. But there is a catch some people can’t get past. Once that need, request or desire has been made, then Thank Him for what He will and is doing. Every time we go back and beg for what we’ve already asked for, we are saying in not so many words, “Lord, I’m not sure you heard me or that you can do what I want you too, so let me repeat it again”. You, dear Heather, don’t seem to be that type person. I thank God that He is doing a mighty work in you and your children’s lives. Thank “You” for being you. A friend lost his family, pregnant wife, toddler girl, pre-teen daughter two years ago yesterday. He gives God praise also, and his story is so much like yours, the young man that hit them was on drugs. Continued prayers for you sweetie, may God keep you wrapped in his loving arms!
@@DD_LetTheDogsOut perhaps in your prayers. It's a hard place to get to, I've had my own perpetrators, betrayers etc, the only place that I find any sense of relief is when I place them in my prayers. Christ died for me to keep me from hell, but He also died for them, too.

You and your family are in my thoughts. I lost my dad when I was 19 and I spoke to my mom about you this past week. It helped us think back and talk about what we went through and times when we were brave enough to even speak about it that early on. Cry when you need to, ask help when you need to, and when you come across moments that make you smile or laugh... give yourself grace and allow yourself that happiness. He would want that for you to help you through.
Sometimes as of late I wake up very early and you will just come into my mind and I lay there and pray for you and your family. God will continue to show himself strong for you. I have put off sharing this with you but I think tonight is the right time. I grew up pretty much an orphan and I know how much we lean on the Lord. I found this poem 20 years ago and it's carried me for these many years. I am now in my late sixties. God has never left or forsaken me and I he loves us all the same. I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly 8 years ago on Father's Day morning. It was a horrific tragedy for me and our three children but we are managing to keep moving forward and find new joys in our lives. Aside from the local grief support groups we joined I found the FB group called 'Young Christian Widows' to be a great place to find support from women walking the same path. I found after I lost my husband 2 years ago to cancer, that God knows what you need at any given time and his timing is always perfect.
It certainly is. When my father passed away in February, God was with me through everything. Comforting me, making a way, and his wonderful presence was indescribable. His funeral was not one of mourning, but of celebration and worshipping God. Although we mourned, it was also a sweet assurance of the certainty that my father would be waiting for us when we go home.
Yes! Karen is right. I lost my husband to cancer 2 years ago too and the Lord has been providing everything I need at each step. It is amazing looking back at it. Yes, the change will be good because all things work together for our good. My heart and prayers are with you Heather....and you too, Karen. God is good!

Your prayers are just as important to this family as financial help. We cannot get through some things on our own, that's when God makes everything possible. Sometime when we are in the middle of grief, hardship, or fear, we can't even find the words to pray, so your prayers are valuable. I have learned myself if I don't know what to pray, I quote Scripture like the 23rd Psalm, sometime when I don't have time (like the time a tornado was heading to my house) I just call on the name of Jesus. We reported a drunk driver, he was arrested within 10 minutes of our call. His blood alcohol levels were so high they took him to the hospital. I was not a subscriber but saw your story. My friend made the beautiful memory quilt for my mother with my Dads clothes, it’s breathtaking and provides her with so much comfort. They were married for 56 years and still madly in love. There are many different patterns to choose from and we chose a tree of life. Each leaf came from a piece of his clothes and the border of the quilt as well. I’m happy to pass on a picture if anyone is interested for ideas. We even had our friend do a carving of their initials on the tree trunk within a heart, absolutely adorable.

For the kids, maybe a teddy bear made of dad's clothes. I made some "daddy bears" for my friend's kids when their dad died of cancer, and at first they just liked to cuddle with them, and after a while they started playing with them together with their other cuddly toys.

I am so very sorry for everything you’ve been through and still going through. I lost my husband when he was walking with our daughter back to his car after watching a NASCAR race. He was almost to the car when a truck hit him. I had just talked to him 30 minutes prior whe he called to tell me he was heading home. My kids were 19, 11 and 9 at the time. It was so rough. My little girl is now 28 and a mommy of my 2 beautiful grandchildren! I look back and still wonder how we made it but I am pretty sure God has my Steve watching over us. Hang in there. I'm an unborn survivor of a drunk driver. 56 yrs ago. My father was killed and my mom severely injured. I was supposed to be still born but obviously wasn't. My mom didn't walk for 4 yrs but she made it and she walked right up until the day she passed away. Thankfully in her sleep

After our son died in utero, we shut ourselves in to just be together with our daughter and grieve. That was at the end of January and we’re just beginning to re-emerge. Take as much time as you need. ❤️ Grief is a lifelong journey but the soul-crushing sorrow subsides, praise Jesus.

I don’t think I could add much to this. Linda has said it all but I will reiterate this only. God is always there for you and He loves to hear you talk to Him. Pour out your feelings and thoughts to Him. Remember His word says, “ask in my name believing and it shall be given to you. But there is a catch some people can’t get past. Once that need, request or desire has been made, then Thank Him for what He will and is doing. Every time we go back and beg for what we’ve already asked for, we are saying in not so many words, “Lord, I’m not sure you heard me or that you can do what I want you too, so let me repeat it again”. You, dear Heather, don’t seem to be that type person. I thank God that He is doing a mighty work in you and your children’s lives. Thank “You” for being you. A friend lost his family, pregnant wife, toddler girl, pre-teen daughter two years ago yesterday. He gives God praise also, and his story is so much like yours, the young man that hit them was on drugs. Continued prayers for you sweetie, may God keep you wrapped in his loving arms!

@@DD_LetTheDogsOut perhaps in your prayers. It's a hard place to get to, I've had my own perpetrators, betrayers etc, the only place that I find any sense of relief is when I place them in my prayers. Christ died for me to keep me from hell, but He also died for them, too.

Im 68 and living a very happy life with my adopted boys and their families. Surround yourself with love. Remember to be grateful and the blessings will continue. Small victories are still victories. Take the time to heal both physically and emotionally. Im glad you have a grief councelor thats very important. Dont ever give up. God spared you for a reason. You and your family are in my thoughts. I lost my dad when I was 19 and I spoke to my mom about you this past week. It helped us think back and talk about what we went through and times when we were brave enough to even speak about it that early on. Cry when you need to, ask help when you need to, and when you come across moments that make you smile or laugh... give yourself grace and allow yourself that happiness. He would want that for you to help you through.
Sometimes as of late I wake up very early and you will just come into my mind and I lay there and pray for you and your family. God will continue to show himself strong for you. I have put off sharing this with you but I think tonight is the right time.

I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly 8 years ago on Father's Day morning. It was a horrific tragedy for me and our three children but we are managing to keep moving forward and find new joys in our lives. Aside from the local grief support groups we joined I found the FB group called 'Young Christian Widows' to be a great place to find support from women walking the same path. Continuing to keep you in prayer. Sending you warm hugs from a widow who's made this journey. The Lord is holding you in the palm of his hand. 🌈
