@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sk I believe the Cammer is a variant of the side oiler. The side oiler cured oil flow issues in the FE engine. The Cammer is a SOHC version. This one is wild!

You are living my dream!!!! I ditched my fiancé and moved 3000 miles away to get away from her. I left behind my dream of owning and racing a dragster just like yours. Sad, really sad. Now, I have a $500K mortgage and two kids in college. My dream is gone. Please, don't lose yours!!!
Thank you but I wish it was my dragster. It belongs to John Jones. He used to race it back in the day. Now he does exhibitions. It is an awesome machine! I have had a few cars over the years and did some bracket racing. Nothing like what John did though.
I see you couldn't get a proper blower manifold for it. I wonder if any body makes parts for this motor anymore, like a stronger block, aluminum heads, etc.?
My goodness!!!! Kudos to you guys for getting that thing to run for that long. After all it is a ford and anything could happen any second!!!!!!!!!! Suggestion though, be careful standing that close to the engine like that. WHEN it grenades you want to be clear of the flying debris!!!!!
Thank you for your concern. The rest of my crew went down the street to get something to eat, but I was not going to miss this for anything. All that blew up that day was our ears. Talk about loud! I can’t believe John used to race that dragster. Those old Slingshots could be downright deadly!
@curtvick2892 I am 64 and been to almost event at Detroit dragway and watched the Nationals every year and know for a fact the hemi i Has blown more than any engine because it is always run to its limit to the point of hydraulicing the cylinders ask any Nitro burning driver it's a fact young Man.
Great Video! Cammers are Jammers! Cammers are the nastiest sounding engines, even on just gas, let alone NITRO! HELL YEAH!😊
You know it! This thing was insane! Every time John revved it up people were jumping back and covering their ears. It was like a controlled explosion.
those whitewalls go great with the oldschool cammer it is just plain cool anyway you see it hear it or absorb it
@@goldflakechallenger it certainly is a multi-sensory experience!

Side oiler is a block design, replaced the center oiler in 1965. The SOHCs as developed by Ford used the side oiler block.

That is a great question! Cushman carries and sources parts for the 427 SOHC. Warning: they are not cheap! That is no surprise.

Pretty funny you make comments about Ford engines when the Chrysler hemi has grenaded more than any engine ever made 😂
