Hey Troy! Great build video! Something to point out when you move the motor shaft to the rear, make sure you have a flat spot ground on the shaft for the grub screw to bite to, I've had motor shaft screws loosen before and the shaft will freewheel on you. No bashing here, just don't want you to have a motor failure.
Thank you for the tip. That happened to me on the maiden flight. I fixed it yesterday and I ground a flat spot in the shaft. I will show what I did in the maiden flight video I will upload in a few days. I need to take it out for another flight first to make sure it is working properly.
Definitely a good plane for some FPV with the motor in the back. I just put an onboard cam on my lates build. The ASK14 glider it was fun to see the FPV footage.
Troy, Your videos are truly inspiring and a great help in building these planes! I am printing the Icon A5 at this time and find that there is no consistency in printing the P3 profile parts, must tweak things for every different part using a MK3S and regular PLA. Have you tried printing this aircraft on your Ender 3 S1?
very good job, could you tell me how it would be to acquire your models via the download of the program and what are the printers that you recommend to have a good job, what is the product to have a very good gluing and there are some additional accessories for each plane or all are printed, thank you very much for the answer.
Hi Can you tell me please what I am doing wrong? I got files from thingerverse of a wing part and put it to cura and scaled it as it was a bit too big and put preview and it was not printing the outside skin only the inside when I reset scale it was printing everything.
Printing this at the moment and having some success but generally I would say that it is not strong enough the wall thickness is too thin and I think I would have sacrificed some weight for thicker walls. Also Fuselage Part 4 has overhangs that collapse if in CURA you add support it doubles the print time from 8 hrs to over 16 hrs. I can only assume that this will fill the fuselarge with support and because this structure is so thin I dont think I will get it out without destroying the part. I was wondering how you dealt with this issue of part 4
Hi, Troy. This is awsome !. You are a genius, man !. This technique opens a whole new universe of possibilities in 3D printing !. Please, check what happen with the link of your *How To Print Thin Wall* video, because it says *Not available Video* Cheers, John from Chile, South America.
Thank you for the comment John. I fixed the link thank you for letting me know. 3D printing is amazing anything you can think to build you can draw it up and print the part it. Thank you for checking out my video. Cheers from Las Vegas
for exampole why dont you do liek sky hawk expanded wings with even more gliding with two mid components xtra and longer holders and also expand brushless chasis to 1-2 cm to get soem spin better and if you still have time a raotional cocpit wouild come fine and shot video is if you do rotational copit then you inser 2x2 mid components to for some extra wieght and even better gliding
If there were not two servos in the tail, it would balance with a smaller battery and lower AUW. Too bad they couldn't figure out control rods for the elevator/rudder. They should've had a look at the Eflite UMX Icon A5.
Hi David, I used "Gravit Designer" to make my own decals. I just typed out the letters and for the prop decal I used 3 ovals with a triangle in the middle. Then I exported the file to be a vector file and had a local vinyl company printed them out. Have fun with your build. Cheers
I bought the Icon A5 and I can not print the canopy parts I keep getting an error in cura that states it is not manifold. And when I try to print them I get the same thing, it prints the base and then it rises up and starts printing in mid air. I have tried to print them on 2 different printers and 2 different slicers and get the same results.
Im sorry to hear you are having this problem. My print worked good for that canopy and I have not heard of this problem. If you figure it out let me know. Cheers
@@TroyMcMillan I got ahold of the people at Plane print and they said to check all my settings, so I did and had a couple not set right. And then I tried again and fallowed all the instructions that came up on the screen and tried again and this time every thing worked. @@lorcankelleher5434 I know right but it’s worth it and if something brakes it is an easy fix by printing the part again as you get to keep the files for ever

@@everythingrc5652 This is true. I just wish there was something smaller with less parts that you could print in a day and still both look and fly well you know?

For the servo extensions, you can 3d print clips to hold those from coming apart so you don't have to solder the extensions on
Great Job!!! I really like watching your videos!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Fantastic job, love to see how u build it.
Nice rc airplane
Thank you
i love this work
Thank you
For alignment, instead of carbon rods you could use 1.75mm filament. Would be easier I think :)
We need a proper water flight :o)
pretty cool
I really love that!!!
This is so cool!!
I must make one of these planes

Yes this plane is awesome. I love the A5 also this plane is one of my favorites.
Muito bom ☺️, viciante !

Did you use the light weight filament or regular pla?
Nice work. Keep it up!

What about the decals? You have it available?
Can this be printed with LW PLA?
question, what material (filament) did you use to print the plane?
I think he just used regular pla
Cool
The propeller is out of stock, is there any other product you would recommend?
Great video. Can you provide the STL file for the receiver holder either here or in your website? Thanks.
Nice job. Correct me if I’m wrong but there is some ca glue that are soluble in water, no ?
I think Mose CA glues are ok for water the ZAP a gap CA glue I used worked good in the water.

Not unless you purchase the license package from Planeprint
