Maul is awesome. He is crisp and has a very profound understanding of biomechanics.

Banyak yang bilang kalau silat itu tidak berguna
Tapi menurut saya silat itu sangat berguna
    Memang
Kalau kita menginginkan sabuk juara, silat mungkin pilihan yang kurang tepat
    Tetapi jika untuk melindungi diri
    Silat adalah pilihan yang tepat

lol. when you see Maui do it looks so easy. But, when you tried it yourself, you're all over the place. It just shows how far the levels up need to be. :p

These are warfare level of Silat. Usually not taught to students at school (like proper academic school).

@@AnasSuhaimi exactly, i learnt silat at school, and also from my father where he learnt from village’s grandmaster.. totally different techniques. School only teach how to protect yourself, but old people teaches deadly technique.

0:29 most people do not block it coming back they pull it back...additionally not many can even redirect an attack, they will get cut and die.

    The fact is..
Silat truely practicing in past years ago in Indonesian kingdoms eras.!!! It means, the kingdoms killing each others with silat.!!! For glory, gold, or religion.. you must training your speed, weight, fist, technique, to win this death-life situation.!!! But, when your opponent hidden dangerous weapon, like knife, keris, celurit, etc ; you must increasing speed-fist-technique much more.. although you not win, mean you will injuried, blooden, or die forever.!!!!

He needs to be paired with a man, this or act stuff where you can’t or feel too afraid to be hands on in training is going to get people killed in a real circumstance because in real life, they’ll use what they’ve come to learn about “knife defence” from your classes. He isn’t going to be able to touch her without the fear of her calling harassment lol is nuts. This is training. Zero ego.

"I've just imagined a scenario based on my own preconceptions. Gosh but that scenario I've just imagined makes me annoyed. I bet she reported him to the police after this video and the police broke into his house and shot his dog! THAT MAN'S DOG WAS SHOT BY THE POLICE!" ...or just stop living in a paranoid fantasy world, it's much less tiring.

Grab a marker pen for multiple realistic attacks and no static one...-) you will see that you have hardly any time to check. Good luck 👍🏻

Of course, the initial introduction and demonstration of a concept and its accompanying technique must always be done so that the student immediately understands all the movements of the body and every interpretation and application in the real world.
No. This is a very brief introduction into the ideas of structure and utilization of the body's larger muscles--engagement of the hip-- to control an opponent who has entered the clinch range.
