I think why they were so popular, at one time. Is because of the image of the military version crashing over the desert, during the first Gulf War. They were a very different Beast, to the poorly constructed and underpowered civilian version, even though they looked very similar. I wouldn't want to take one anywhere near a desert, or even a field. Thank you. 😊
I have always liked the look of the Hummer. It reminded me of a Tonka toy. It looked tough and rugged. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its looks. Very poor build quality and not enough power, for its size and weight.
