Off roading can get tense. I'm an emotional guy what can i say... I love getting out there far from the crowds of the strip, but that does come with some stress. Sorry I can be a bit much in the moment. I've come a long way from where I used to be. I like the Suburban am a work in Progress...lol
For sure. Coming from Tahoe, the H2's capability really impressed me, as I wasnt sure what to expect. The build continues in upcoming videos. The Dmax is goin in!
How do you like the new gears does it hold od on the hiway ? I just got a h2 6 inch lift with 38s I need a gear change it doesn't like the hiway very much lol
Its a lot better for sure. I can set the cruise control and do 75 all day. It doesnt hunt for gears or constantly shift around. My speedo is actually faster than actual with 5.13's and 40s. Indicating 80 is 73mph in real time, so on 38's 5.13's may be a tad overkill, but it makes it a normal vehicle again. On stock gears, even on 37's, it was BAD...sluggish as ever.
Love my 2003 h2 , bought in San diego, went and played in the snow mud hill climbs hunting deer in Ohio, went to Oklahoma played on some lake trails red clay and steep inclines and ruts, brought it back to San Diego drove the side by side trails, mud holes down by the Tijuana border . Absolutely would buy another one when I have a chance love this style of video and also have a 69 gmc truck I would like to build as a nasty light to light daily Saturday night special ! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
What's the size of the rim and tires that u used bro. It looks so good. Im plan to buy a h2 here in the Philippines and i want the build that u used.. thanks for the video it makes me excited.. ty
This has a fabtech 6" and at full flex offroad, I just clear the tire with basically nothing to spare. I have seen people with 40s on stock suspension with a crank and rear pucks but they arent offroading now how, no way.
What kind of parts you going to be building for the H2? Subscribed to follow your build have a 08 H2 with 90k miles on the way cant wait to start building it.
Front and rear redesign. Entire front fascia and taillights. I also have a possible path to a MaxDin like I have for C6. I will be designing a low profile roof rack as well
11:50 Hummer H2 hvac system problems found ]] 13:54 4Wheel Parts will install front locker, regear and steering parts ,17:27 Vibrations after regear lead to problems
Hard to beat Kryptonite been running them for years in my 2500 suburban and my H2. I’m also in the process of gears and front locker. Keep us updated on parts you might make for it.
I wonder what lift it has? I have 05H2 SUT 37” fox 2.0 w remote and some Krypto parts. I also have Diablo with custom tune. I like where you going w front lockers and gearing. Can you tell much difference new gears?
It has the fabtech 6" lift. The gears are extremely noticeable. The 40s on stock gears was an absolute slug. The Hummer is no speed queen as is, but the regear made it a normal truck again, especially on the highway. Set the cruise and just go, the transmission isnt constantly searching. Not to mention restoring towing capability. Things have happened since this video...we went into some remote camping mountain snow areas and I was in a group of vehicles, that as night came, started all getting stuck/stranded. The H2, fully locked, people were like "how are you just going up and down that hill like that?" My friend was wtf man, how arent you sliding around in this? People were sliding down backwards, I was going up and down like it was nothin. Patagonias and lockers were gettin it done.
That is awesome.. I can’t believe how capable these are. What would today look like if the marketing team would have targeted jeep owners instead of movie stars and rappers. Can’t wait to see what you do next with it.. keep ‘em coming.
Great films you do. Have you any videos on the close up photos of the front wish bones you have done. Oh maybe its the drive shafts or bearings causing vibration
Its the fabtech kit...6.5 I think they advertise it as. Its a tad more now, as its evolved from this video. The body had to be lifted slightly to fit the Duramax
Corvettes and Hummer H2s -- are they a match I wasn't aware of? There's another person on TH-cam that is a dealer that sells both. I got my current Corvette in 2005 and my 2008 H2 in 2023!
I have an 86 inch tv... and I've been tossing around the idea of getting an H2. I currently run a mostly stock Yukon XL. Lift kit, injectors, oil pump, 35's, headers, exhaust, and comfort interior mods is pretty much it. The H2 seems kind of redundant for my needs. Thoughts, since you have Tahoe and H2 now?
Depends on the mission. H2 will be redundant if your mission favors tge Yukon xl's strengths. For me, offroad capability is what I favor, and the difference is real. H2 has a lot more tire clearance, with roomy spacious capability. H2 has better bones for a serious offroad overland mission, while xl favors the daily grind. See my other H2 videos...the duramax swap took this thing to the next level BUT we ran into some problems.
Love the H2 but a 2009 H3 Alpha Adventure comes with IFS, a non AFM 5.3 LS motor, the same traction control system as the H2, and front and rear lockers
Yeah, they're nice as well. Low production to find one but definitely a find. I was looking at a Championship Edition H3, which is very rare. Nice piece but....a locked up Duramax H2 just makes better noises...lol
Monster Trucks & Muscle Cars, gotta-luv-it!! I subbed because I'm a H2 SUT owner, and I really like what you're doing to your H2, I think you're going to come ahead with the H2 build, can't wait to see what's next. ✌💙🎭😎💯
Good stuff! Lots coming ahead....just be prepared for some Corvette stuff in between...the channel is a mix. H2 videos are continuing and in edit though for sure!
You and I have similar taste. I too have a C5 Corvette and a H2 Hummer. In 2012, I moved my family from Starkville, MS to Brentwood, CA. I have a Chevrolet Suburban K1500 and had it tow my 16' box trailer. My H2 Hummer towed my 2002 Chevrolet Corvette. Unfortunately, I laster discovered my transmission on my 2006 H2 Hummer was slipping. It then broke down off of I-5 3 months after we settled in at Brentwood, CA in our new house. I had my H2 towed to AAA Transmission and the informed me that a plastic part in the transmission broke and the cogs got worn. It turns out towing on the H2 on all 4X4 is not good for the truck and the Suburban's 3.73 rear gearing was more robust for towing. If the H2 could switch to rear wheel drive and disconnect the front drive, I would have avoided to issue blowing my transmission. I did get it fixed and still enjoy driving it. By the way, I purchased the sleepy eye round head lights for my corvette. I will be getting them installed once I get the 3D printed bezels. Thanks for sharing you videos.
There is a Hummer H2 for sale in Logondale NV. for sale today id anyone is looking for one. 138K miles It id sccross from the only gas station in Logondale.
I got mine stock hight with a leveling kit in the front on 37x13.5 toyo mtr tires and stock rims and it's absolutely perfect.. my personal opinion is a lift on a H2 is a bad idea to top heavy and to tall she is already a tall truck but i do live in thick forest not the desert but the idea is to keep her low wide with big tires... Want that front locker...
I was concerned about this but for some reason it feels a lot more stable, off angle than my Tahoe does on 35's. I really want to do some objective angle tests with a forklift to know its limits though, then have angle gauges. The desert rocks and mountains can be real sketch and there is some very scary places out there with big penalties.
@@KnightDriveTV These trucks were built to be stable and great off road... People just hate for no reason.. I'm also pulling an M101A2 military trailer with mine goes anywhere I point the truck straight up rock's no problem...
Honestly, I'd take the Hummer H2 over a Rubicon, 4runner or any other 4x4. Definitely seems like an ideal platform. not only is it excellent offroad but also very comfortable and luxurious. They just have a bad rap because of all the early 2000's rap videos and people putting chrome spinners on them. They were, at the time, built as serious offroad vehicles despite being completely misunderstood.
Great video, but I had one of the rare 2008s with the aluminum 6.2 and six speed in SUT form for over 5 years and finally traded it for a current gen Power Wagon because I got tired of the lack of 3rd party support and the Off Road community has relegated these things to the dinosaurs because of the IFS, unlike the timeless solid axle K5 Blazers and such that will live on forever. I'm sorry but I just dont see this "BIG comeback" you guys in the comments are talking about, as far as I can see until someone comes out with a viable SAS Kit, there is nothing to resuscitate interest or support in these. I really do like them and I wish you guys all the luck.
10:58 Holy shit, are you the American version of me? @KnightDriveTV What size of lift is on your H2? Any rubbing with the 40's when you get it crossed up? How is it handling the 40's with the re-gear now? How bad is the fuel milage? Hahaha
Oddly, there was an option for the h2 called knight drive. It was a factory option and it flipped up on the dashboard and a screen helped you see at night. 17:29
4wp will be the last place i go for any truck that not a run of the mill jeep... cuz thats all their brain can handle, 2000s GMs? nope, theyll install parts, but will they know if/whats right after? probably not, unless you just happen to have a tech who also is off roading a 2000s chevy
Coming from someone who owns a predator converted H2 Duramax SUT I would highly suggest you look into Mash Motors instead. I'd be happy to tell you why I feel that way and why mine is there right now.
Its a fair question, I understand that. I would first say, check out the other vids on my channel. I develop products for Corvettes. I started KnightDriveTV in 2021 officially, and launched 2 highly successful products. I then continued to expand the product line since. I also had a budget Tahoe and Suburban series on this channel, but as the business evolved I ended up wanting to focus on Hummer. At this point, I have made a decision to build one of the most ultimate H2's on youtube, then subsequently release some proprietary designed products by this channel. So, that said, this money that builds the H2 is company money, its a company funded project, on a youtube channel which is part of the business. The next video is going to send things to the big next level. Please sub and check it out. Its in edit now.
