This episode help me get out of my dark place, and actually having the honor to talk to Arron and tell him how much it helped me, such a understanding man, i totally cried when he passed, I am watching ST Discovery, wasn't a huge fan but when I saw the USS Nog i felt a lot better about the show, giving props to the Trek of old, sorry just my opinion
R.I.P. Aron Eisenberg, so he passed away. I love his role as Nog on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine". He later guest-starred as a Kazon named Kar in the Season Two episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" entitled "Initiations". This one video tears me up and here's why. My mother passed in 1995 - she was a teen during the Depression - she was also a fan of DS9 and we used to commisserate every week when I would visit on the latest episode. Paper Moon would have definitely been in her wheelhouse of songs she enjoyed in local nightclubs back in the 30s as a young adult. She passed a few years before Vic Fontaine was introduced on the show. She would have absolutely gone head over heels over this stuff. Also, the friendship shown between Vic and Nog is so sweet. Then knowing that we lost "Nog" aka Aron adds to the mood. Gaaah, I'm losing my s*** over this. Anyway, just an anonymous share of "feelz", carry on.
Here's a song from the 1930s being sung by a singer/actor who was popular in the late 50's/early 60's playing a holographic character in fantasy 1962 Las Vegas providing therapy to an alien character in a space fantasy set in the 24th Century. And it all makes perfect sense.
This episode hit me hard because I struggled with video game addiction. It made me realize I was hiding in a fake world to escape reality. I hate how whenever its shown the character is all better by the end of the episode and its never mentioned again

RIP James Darren, I remember you from many TV shows including TJ Hooker, which was ironic but to me, he will be forever remembered as Vic Fontaine some people get a character and use actors play them the best of their ability forgettable he went and took a character and made it his own and made it so unforgettable to this day I love listening to the clips of him singing, but then again, so did the actor who played Nog I always wondered why he never got an Emmy play young and as a soldier he played that soldier and that character so well I always wondered why he didn’t get some kind of recognition for it. This song always remind me of them. They’re both gone too soon, but they are also immortal that as long as we can watch them on the screen and listen to them, they will never be forgotten.
The episode that this song is attached to always reminds me of a letter that was written in one of the comments for the show Stargate universe, I believe apparently they were canceling the show and one of the vets from one of the golf wars. I’m using voice to text and it doesn’t put everything down the way I would like it to, but I can’t fix it. I am an incomplete quadruple check in my hands. Do not work Properly, so I wanna continue with this to say that the guy was suicidal for him watching the show every week allowed him an outfit fantasy outfit for his pain emotional and PTSD gave him like the character of Nog an outlet for distraction if you will an outlet for the pain, emotional pain that they were in… Both actors are gone too soon, but they will always be remembered for the characters they brought to life. and in James Darren’s case he didn’t just bring a character to Life he gave it a life of its own and then the way he will always be remembered for the music and the character.
If the writer's didn't sacrifice his leg, then they would've never have wrote this episode. If they never wrote this episode, then we would have never seen what a great actor Aron really was, and that would have been a waste of good writing, and great acting.

Knowing both of them are no longer with us, this hits differently.
This episode was heartbreaking. Nog could easily have ended up as a joke character but he ended up as much more than that.

Just came from the WoW memorial. It was so wonderful to see everyone coming together for Aron. There were at least 300 people there. It was amazing.
