Suleika, I can't thank you enough for this! Here I was, newly single mom, trying to rebuild my life, during covid, and I decided to treat myself to a small dryer to lighten the laundry workload. But the new dryer was defective! Home Depot refused to take it back because they have a 48-hour policy on appliances! As if I had nothing better to do than drop what I was doing in the middle of the week to test it! I feared I had blown a chunk of my savings on something that was supposed to help 😔 Home Depot washed its hands clean, and the manufacturer(Magic Chef) never returned my messages. Google said it sounded like the dryer belt. But your video was the ONLY demo I could find. It gave me the courage to give it a go! I changed the belt 2 months ago, and it's still running. Thanks to your video! Thank you!!!
I would like to thank you for posting this video. Seeing another woman do it gave me the confidence. I just sat down on the floor and replaced the dryer belt. It was so easy. You did a great job, and appreciate that the video was direct and to the point, not full of a bunch of talking or music. Great video!

@@causeeffect7624 Mine broke 4 months later. I couldn't see any way to fix a broken one. I rebought the same belt last month and its still working good. I have learned to be careful not to put too much or too heavy of a load in the dryer.
Same here. Just put a new one in 6 months ago. It snapped probably cuz I’ve overloaded it a few times. I’m gonna be more careful after I get this one in there. Thank you for the video!! Huge help!
Thank you! I have a Avanti Dryer had it for 8 yrs and it stop spinning but still gets hot. So, I guess I have to change the belt. Thank you again for making this video.
Its pretty much the same with a Magic chef dryer except there is 2 extra steps. There is a gray wire going from the bottom of the dryer all the way to the top and connecting to the fan exhaust. At the top it is being held by Zip ties, and at the bottom the wire is tied to the bottom of the metal bar, and other wires with twist ties. To get the belt from the top you have to also take off the clear/white ish vent (only two phillips head screws.) and pull the belt behind it to clear the gray cord. From the bottom its a bit more tricky. You have to undo the twist ties, and then CAREFULLY unplug the gray cord from the mother board looking thing. At which point you can move the wire out of the way for the belt to clear it. Make sure the cord is plugged back into the mother board before you start reassembling things. :)
Thank you so much for these extra steps for the magic chef. I took apart the whole dryer just to get belt on. It broke again the other day so I found this video and your extra instructions and got it done in five minutes!!!! Thank you!!!
I just want to say a big thank you to you for making this video because you just literally help me fix the belt to my dryer me and my son we did it together so I just wanna comment and say thank you for making this video❤❤❤
Yeah I thought my problem this time was the timer switch. Hard to find but finally found one on partstown. After I ordered it…I took the back off & saw my belt snapped again. I’m gonna keep the timer switch in case that breaks at some point.
Mine too. I just replaced the belt 6 months ago. This time it did a totally different thing than it did last time. But when I opened mine up the belt had snapped. I’m getting ready to do mine now. Thank God for these videos.
Just rejoined my belt. Couldn't figure out how to put it back until I found this. The join looks strong, I think it will actually work. The process was as follows: cut a piece out of a bully beef can 1 inch by 1 inch. I only had scissors - they worked fine. The can was still a bit fatty -maybe this helped as a release agent. Bring the repair site together. I stitched with dental floss (actually I think this was a waste of time) coil the metal around the belt as well formed and tight as you can - it will be a mould. Hold the metal over a small flame (propane torch in my case). Heat as slowly as you can from all sides making sure to avoid a direct flame on the belt. Only heat the metal SLOWLY. Suddenly it goes liquid. put out the flame. Push together hard until it sets. Peel off the metal. Trim off the ooze - Voila BEAUTIFULL ! You can do what you like - it is strong.

Terrific video. Just a couple of things: It looks like the belt isn't around the centre pulley properly when you put the back on. This would be evident once you turn it on. My advice is to reconnect to mains, without back on, stand back and run for a few moments to ensure belt is running smoothly and air is actually coming out of the fan outlet. Then disconnect from mains and complete reassembly. Also, I don't think you'd want me to 'bare' with you but bear with you I did and found the video great and very helpful. Hi! I need some help so I hope you see this. My Panda dryer stopped working, I had turned it off & lightly closed it for my husband to put close in once they finished. The blower fan spins on a brass bushing (like a bearing). Over time the grease on the bushing will diminish (maybe 5 years or so). The blower fan will require more effort to turn. This will break the blower belt sooner. You can take apart the blower fan and grease the brass bushing. This will restore easy spinning of the blower fan. If you wait too long to regrease a dry bushing the blower shaft will wear down the bushing and will create play in the assembly.
You rock! Thank you for taking the time to post this video! Just fyi: removing either the top or bottom screws one set at a time is easier since the drum will still be supported. For example: 1. Remove all screws above the center point of the drum, then install new belt on the top section (loop it over the support). 2. Reinstall all top section screws. 3. Remove bottom section screws, then loop the new belt over the bottom support. 4. Reinstall all bottom section screws. is the 2nd little wheel (the smaller of the two wheels in the bottom right corner that the belt doesn't go around) supposed to spin? Is it's purpose to spin the drum or something? Asking because drum used to spin but then I replace the belt and now the drum won't spin so whats up with that~
The drum spinning with those second two wheels is what makes the blower fan spin. She just installed the blow fan belt. You should check the other belt if the drum is not spinning. There is a long belt that wraps around the drum and loops over the other two bottom wheels
yo tengo una secadora similar es de costway pero rechina antes no lo hacia y me mandaron un video de como arreglarla pero jamas funciono y no se que hacer chilla mucho

Hello. May I ask, Where did you buy that belt?
Hello! Yes, i bought it on ebay.
@@Akielus1987 hello how are you can you tell me what name you found it I don't found it and I need it please. One question more need to be the same color like clear or can be black or another color
what is the name of that belt?
Where did you purchase the new belt?
Ebay
is the 2nd little wheel (the smaller of the two wheels in the bottom right corner that the belt doesn't go around) supposed to spin? Is it's purpose to spin the drum or something? Asking because drum used to spin but then I replace the belt and now the drum won't spin so whats up with that~
It does, spin. I'm not professional i just changed the fan belt and thought the video could help people with the same problem.
Creo que es algo normal en ese tipo de secadoras, la mía hace mucho ruido.
Did u unplug the fuse wire or unscrew it?
Yes, i did!
I unscrew it.
Thanks nice video I didn’t see the small wheel behind the bracket I’m the middle thx
You're welcome! I'm glad that it helped you.
The size of the belt
