Thanks for the feedback, Kristine! How’s your garden growing this year?

It's beautiful! I have some of it growing in another bed in front of our business. Definitely a stunner! It also gets a lot of shade there and it is still doing well.

Is this for the new tea bar?

Did you start this from seed also? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it at the local nurseries.

I did start some from seed, but I believe this one came from the Urban Naturalist near downtown. I have a hard time with some herbs.

@@Louisianagardening I hear a lot about that place. I’ll have to check it out. Are you going to herb fest this weekend? Surely they will have some there.

What are the medicinal benefits of bee balm?

There are many benefits and uses that I’ve read about, but I am specifically growing it to aid with digestion and menstrual cramps. It’s also good for congestion and colds. It’s antimicrobial and I’ve read it makes a great salve for rashes. I’ve got Rosemary Gladstar’s herbal book, but I like learning about what other local people use different things for with success.

Happy to help! It is a perennial so it will spread wherever you plant it and you shouldn’t ever have to plant it again. It’s wonderful!
