  • It's been a while since I've uploaded a cooking video, so I thought I'd get started again by uploading a video of one of my favorite foods, Corn Fritters. My granny made them for me when I was a kid and eating them now brings back great memories of her. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
    Ingredients:
    2 cups - Fresh corn
1 cup - All purpose flour
    2 teaspoons - Baking powder
    1 1/2 tablespoons - Melted butter
    1/2 teaspoon - Salt
    1 teaspoon - Sugar
    1 - Egg
    1/2 to 1 cup - Milk
    Oil to fry in
Please stop by our Facebook page and watch a video or two. Thank you! The Hillbilly Kitchen on Facebook - / thehillbillykitchen

Also watching in 2022! Just found this channel in May. Thank you, Becky, for your words in this video. I lost my husband many years ago & I know the anquish you feel. I lost my precious daughter to cancer on August 12, 2021 & the grief almost takes my breath at times. Trying to be happy & seem normal is very trying most days, but I will remember that the Lord doesnt want us sad, and I still have love in my heart & will try to help others & keep myself busy.
Blessings to your & yours during THIS Christmas season & may the Lord keep you safe during the hard times we are all going thru right now. 🙏🙏🙏

      WHAT IS A HOMEGOING?

    • @philberkhof3503
      @philberkhof3503 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Linda, I think what they mean is that Becky’s husband went home to be with the Lord. That doesn’t mean that we as Christians rejoice when another Christian dies. We are sad and know that their loved ones will never be the same. But we also know that they are in heaven and also that we will see them again. Hope this helps! It is hard to understand.

I am new to your channel and I love it. I’ve been watching your videos every day for a week or so and I ordered your cookbook. Yesterday, when I opened your video, it was about the passing of your husband. I was heartsick. I felt like I lost someone I knew. You were so tender and loving in your tribute to your husband. I grieved for you. I admire you so much, Becky, and I feel I’ve come to know you and the kind of person you are through your videos. I too am a Christian, a deeply committed Christian. I love your witnessing. And I love your wisdom and the sincerity of your messages to us. I hope you will continue your cooking and sharing videos for many, many years to come. May God richly bless you and your wonderful ministry. Malinda P.

I'm an American woman & grew up in the New York state when I turned just about 30 I packed up & moved to Italy toward the central part..... in a few months I'll be turning 65 years old just to give you an idea of how long I've been living here...... I'm so glad I found your channel....... it's great to see someone from the south teaching recipes & it's a way of keeping in touch with others from the different states across the country!! I've never been to Tennessee although I'd like to visit & unfortunately most likely never will at this point in my life..... Anyway I'd like to mention that the thing I like most is when you speak of the Lord..... I've learned in my life time that no matter what you do in this life if you haven't come to the point of finding HIM then our life is pointless nothing but nothing matters if you haven't found HIM....... & HE'S always there waiting for everyone no matter who you are & where you are..... God Bless you & your family & who knows maybe there will be a time maybe not in this life, but when we'll all be with HIM.... well then I'll finally be able to visit Tennessee.... in other words all that we haven't been able to do here we'll do it THERE..... Take Care & always be Blessed....

That whatever I'm making is edible.

I make my daddy potato pancakes but I’ve never made corn fritters, anyway your msg to let your cup runeth over and only focus on what’s left in the cup don’t stress over the stuff that ran over. I needed that msg. This was desperately needed today thank you Jesus for bringing me to this video for this msg. Amen.

She's prob got cataracts starting, blurry and fuzzy and getting worse by the Month- cataracts. I had them and it's scary bc you feel like you're truly going blind but it is very fixable. I got mine corrected through the VA one at a time and it was not hard or long time on the operation table, actually took maybe 15 minutes.
Hope she can get her eyes fixed. I now have better than 20/20 and it's such a huge load off my mind, I was so scared of dr's or any operations but I had to put my faith in those dr.'s and I did. Such a good feeling. Good luck.

@@e.w.s8703 My ophthalmologist calls that wait "letting the cataracts 'ripen' and it's worth the wait. I was so shocked when the first bandage came off! Everything was so bright! They do the worst eye first, and I had a beautiful "light show" while the surgery was being done. Cataract surgery via laser is surely one of God's gifts to us.

When I take corn off the cob, I leave a little bit of the good stuff for the birds. We have wild quail who love it. I break a couple of cobs in two and leave them outside where I feed birds and it doesn't take long for them to find them.

In late Oct 2017 I began following groups out of the US that have re-enforced that believe and really liked hearing your insightful thoughts. ThanQ!
