@@elmo4672 it's govts of few states which even today are playing caste politics instead of prioritising what is necessity. In south india, govts worked on population first. Today's Gen Y and Gen X (going to be parents or new parents) had one one sibling if you are from South. 2 children kind of became norm. I found most of my colleagues of certain states have 3 siblings! So these extra births have accounted to extra competition and strain on resources.
The reason is that India is solely focused on the service sector rather than industry. The problem with the service sector is that companies can easily replace or terminate workers, and it only offers jobs to those who are educated or have received education, thereby excluding uneducated individuals from impoverished backgrounds. This results in a gap between the poor and wealthy classes. Additionally, this sector is entirely dependent on Western countries. India needs to prioritize the industry over the service sector.
@@therevealer672 i think the industry sector he mentioned had to do with manufacturing. Japan is good example which is a country which has a great industry sector.
@@mohak_mangal Yes, it can book a reservation as booking a ticket is nothing more than choosing a segment, sector, and asking for personal details. On the other hand, it can easily run a cryptic window and can view and modify the itinerary. As we use Salesforce for tagging and looking for existing data or creating new cases based on the name associated with the phone number. Even the entire information is within Salesforce so it’s a very simple task for AI to do that. Even Amadeus also uses automation as most of the time we don’t need to calculate fare difference, K3 (GST), YR, IN, and other taxes, and I can say Amadeus, along with Salesforce, is capable enough to do all the tasks with just automation and simple prompts. For me I don’t think I can save my job even after learning a black book of prompts.
Most of the new jobs which were created in India after Liberalization policies were service sector jobs. After AI boom, these jobs are becoming replaceable and imposing costs on the company for services which can be done by less employees. Had these jobs truly been in research driven and product related, it would've been highly unlikely companies would fire employees. I might also add, it probably was bound to happen as these jobs which are being laid off were replaceable from the get-go.

As a data scientiest i have seen AI is not taking tech (so called IT jobs ) jobs as AI is still in expermental phase and only 5% of work is automatated most of the layoff is because of tech boom in 2021- 2022 because of covid and now IT companies realeased there is not that much growth as they were expecting.
Problem is not tech boom but automation and cloud. Now companies don't need workforce like before, around 50% work is decreased in IT Infrastructure and Service Desk related projects. In my project Service desk teams are doing L1 tech jobs along with their regular work. 6 member teams in each domain like Windows, Linux, Network, Storage are reduced by half. In future you will only have L3 jobs with few L1 as more and more automation happens. Automation doesn't mean RPA and Scripting. They do only small repetitive tasks. Biggest automation is done by Microsoft and Amazon. They single handedly replaced 70% admin jobs with O365, AWS and AZURE
Even chatgpt can't produce a code properly and give lots of error AI will take over soon but it still will take atleast 10 years from now so people who are aiming for MNC's shouldn't be worry
Agree on this. AI isn't such a big threat. It's mostly because we are in recession, it was clearly predicted at the end of COVID that next few years recession will be there so I don't understand why people are getting shocked. IT sector is the worst affected because it had bloated too much during COVID times so it's seeing a sharper decline. Other sectors are also affected not just IT.

Great video! A quick note: The suggestion that what prompt engineers do is "fine tuning" is misleading. "Fine tuning" has a specific meaning in the world of generative AI, and most prompt engineers are not neccessarily focused on fine-tuning. The actual work is prompt refinement to improve outputs or enhance model capabilities. This is different from fine-tuning, which involves training a model on additional data to elicit additional capabilites or add to a model's knowledge corpus.
Yes thats what i was thinking from so long, if people starts to lay off from companies, more unemployed, decrease in purchasing power, and these so called companies who providing services using AI, well no one will buy it as they dont have enough money. I think this whole matrix system will collapse
Compare to Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z ,i think Gen z has the hardest time to find a stable careers/job. I mean back in the days if you pass ( Class X ) your future is secure 100% job guarantee, but now Gen Z even with graduate degree can't find a stable job, even with graduate degree you have to have other skills too eg computer skills, communication , spoken English etc...back in the days to get a job all you have to do is matric pass that's it..Millennials and Gen X is living a life on easy mode... only Gen Z is living a life on hard mode
But in that case we must also consider the lack of resources they had at that time.. They didn't have google to get all the answers.. So clearing Xth was also a big deal back then...
One correction bud, millennial lot of them are suffering due to experience and high wage nowadays. It's also the worst group to be now, as millennial have married and have commitments, imagine you have a good high paying job of 35lpa plus, one day you are told, you are no longer required, not many chances are also there unfortunately
@maskedmen81 I didn't say that google is used to clear Xth... But I'm talking about the availability of resources at that time.. C'mon buddy, it was quite self explanatory.. Do you really need elaboration for that..!?
Talking about AI at work, My company strictly prohibits the use of AI for our tasks. There are still places where good old grey matter does indeed matter. Jobs have been cut due to post covid financials but not AI.
Let me tell you as a recruiter. Job Market is bad because of rampant hiring during Covid period. As digitization happened due to covid employers were hiring left and right due to requirements. And that time we hired so many folks who cant even communicate properly. Now as the market is down due to lesser demands companies are firing many such employees who switched job in Covid at high salaries.
One more point is, during the last 2-3 decade, advancement of computers have made everyone interested in that. That time people were interested in making computers, now they are learning their language to do work easily, be it C, C++ or Java. And hence you can seethe jobs lost are in the IT or CS field only. The jobs with niche profession requires manual work, human intelligence. Like I work on antennas. Designing antennas and RF circuits require human intelligence. That cant be taken over by AI. So a note for the future generation: take courses with niche roles.

best job in the world is Indian Government Maharatna PSU job in company like IOCL,NTPC, ONGC,BPCL, this is ultimate job with recession proof . You can retire gracefully and peacefully
Here are some of my takes on the various points Mohak addressed in the video. Amazing video!! No other Indian TH-camr made a video on this topic with such nuanced takes. I think programming would still be required. Natural language isn't specific, it is vague. You need specificity for programming. Jensen's take has largely divided opinions. So, I feel knowing how to program is and will still be quite important.( Paul Graham also thinks the same.) Just knowing how to code won't be enough but it might become essential. As for jobs, experts said that we won't require radiologists anymore but we still do. So, yeah there will be a lot of jobs that will be replaced, many will be created. And then there will be many jobs which won't require as many people as earlier. ( Just imagine how many more people would have banks employed if there were no computers and digitalisation but today every bank also employs a lot of software engineers.) Also there is still a BIG problem of LLMs providing wrong info ( Air Canada example that you gave, lawyers citing non existent cases in court, and many more). So we are quite far away from replacing costumer service and BPOs. Lastly, layoffs are largely happening due to the course correction that is happening post the zero interest rate period and in many cases companies are just using AI as an excuse for the same. But AI surely is in its bull run period and companies are pivoting to AI/ adopting it. However, whenever you hear founders talking about Al replacing jobs in the future, it is quite often a pitch. I think the best way forward for all of us is just being vigilant and acting quickly and keep learning!!!!!
When you waste the all the students life on one entrance exam with very low acceptance rate no wonder they are inexperienced in the real world and getting fired
Absolutely agree! The shift to remote work could have been a game-changer, preventing mass layoffs in Indian corporates and startups. Until 2021, there was a frenzy of hiring, but now, instead of embracing remote work and saving costs, some are succumbing to the pressure of the real estate mafia. If they faced cash crunch, selling office space or transitioning to remote work could have been viable options. It's disheartening that in the name of AI and efficiency, people are being laid off unnecessarily. The government needs to step up and prioritize the interests of the workforce over cozying up to the real estate mafia
Unregulated capitalism is going to end in the coming decades. Alternatively, the human population will reduce drastically. Either way, the problem will be "solved".
You have absolutely read my mind here. Every single point raised in this is absolutely on point. I'm extremely worried about all economies that rely heavily on outsourced work due to cheap labour. Because that "cheap labour" is now free labour via AI. And this is only going to exacerbate income inequality both between economies and also within C-suite and entry level employees.

Let's be real if AI keep on progressing at this rate then even most critical thinking jobs could be replaced too in the future. Its just a change is coming whether you like it or not and if you can't adapt it you will be left behind.
AI is far from critical thinking right now. Trust me, I have been an AI engineer for 8 years now. Even if it could, it won't replace the human aspect as they will always be required for the "validation".
Don't Pursue Prompt engineering!! After 4 or 5 years these AI models will able to generare outstanding results without the need of any engineer. So, When the Generative AI will come, prompt engineers have no value!
If you are an aspiring engineer, kindly don't settle for anything other than MNCs or Government jobs. In other fields you would wished, you never chosen engineering field
I worked in a service based company. They didn't fire anyone. Same for many service based companies and I don't think that AI will replace Software Engineers.

This can also be automated but not by current models, but this is not far away (check out AGI and ASI) Prompt Engineering does not do fine-tuning, "Fine-tuning" is a specific thing in AI models lifecycle where you kind of train generic models with your specific data. Great Video Mohak, I am currently working in AI. But I beg to differ with your opinion that AI will replace the job for the service based companies. Primarily reason being that the majority of the project handled by companies like Infy, TCS are quite old tech used by major banking companies. Their client do not wish to upgrade to new tech because of cost reasoning. And technologies such as ERP, Mainframe which are very old are not we suited by current AI application. However, agree with your point that productivity will be enhanced drastically.

Both of these Jobs require sales skill .A tele marketer or a Bank Professional not just has to Pitch his product They have to somehow Convince even force sell at times ,Visit customers house for selling Products like Fixed Deposit , Mutual Fund ,Life Insurance .Without these sales conversions The company will never make any Profit. Not every time a Customer will have need for the product but it is the Job of the Banker to sell it anyways by any means necessary. I would highly request you to do a deep research on a bankers Or a telemarketers Job or If you have a Banker friend ask him how is the sales Pressure in his Job. You will be surprised that Selling a product is not easy and AI doing it in near future is Impossible.

Agree with you 500% overpopulation is the main reason
The reason is that India is solely focused on the service sector rather than industry. The problem with the service sector is that companies can easily replace or terminate workers, and it only offers jobs to those who are educated or have received education, thereby excluding uneducated individuals from impoverished backgrounds. This results in a gap between the poor and wealthy classes. Additionally, this sector is entirely dependent on Western countries. India needs to prioritize the industry over the service sector.

Problem is not tech boom but automation and cloud. Now companies don't need workforce like before, around 50% work is decreased in IT Infrastructure and Service Desk related projects.

( Just imagine how many more people would have banks employed if there were no computers and digitalisation but today every bank also employs a lot of software engineers.)
Also there is still a BIG problem of LLMs providing wrong info ( Air Canada example that you gave, lawyers citing non existent cases in court, and many more).

If you want to become rich in India only 3 profession you should take...
1. Politician
2. Bollywood
3. Cricket
All other profession has no value in India that's why we are far behind than USA , China , Japan...!!
Businesses men??
4.real estate mafias

This has been a therapy session for me, Mohak. Thank you so much!

Some corrections
Computational thinking is not a real thing, what you are talking about is system design thinking. This can also be automated but not by current models, but this is not far away (check out AGI and ASI)
Prompt Engineering does not do fine-tuning, "Fine-tuning" is a specific thing in AI models lifecycle where you kind of train generic models with your specific data. This is an expensive exercise (less expensive than training a model though)
Prompt Engineering is just writing prompts that give good outcomes... (read about Chain of thought prompts, ReAct prompts etc)
Correct me if i am wrong
My notes
1. Call centeres ki jobs jaegi
2. Computer translator vali li job jaegi
3. Ai kuch logo ke liye acha kuch ke liye bekar
4. AI se productivity badhegi employees ki
5. Ai can't harm physical job like teacher, sports
6. Prompt engineers, Ethics jobs ke maje hai ai se
7. AI professionals ki job demand increase hogi
8. Global economy condition play karr rha hai job fire ke liye
Us ka interest rate badh gya
9. We are in capitlist society, to job ja skti hai, If do not upskill
Stop watching this type of videos where someone show you a problem, try to sell you a course on it, and you end up being miserable after watching the whole 30 min video.
Whatever he said is absolutely right though. There is reason for worry.
Mohak predicts future you will not understand
This is true that we end up being really futile and tired after such videos. Thanks
True. Real analysis said still AI is not doing that much work and AI is only replacing jobs at small places. Most of the real reasons are over hiring in 2020-2021. Companies can't show their own mistakes
The course he is suggesting is really very good
Beautifully explained based on the AI and current situation, loved the video, thank you!
I'm a 2014 graduate and i got my 1st job in a big 4. Due to the nature of my work I worked closely with the IT team who would always talk abt AI and how in the next 10 years a lot of "Human Work" would not exist as it will be automated using AI, this was back in 2015 at the time i dint think anything of it but now here we are almost 10 years later with AI taking over almost every field.

Even i got scared of these news. But the truth is these companies had unsustainable hirings during pandemic.
Now profit is low, so they are firing in hordes. I think indian students should focus more on small and middle sized companies. There are lots of them. Maybe the package won't be that high and life won't be glamorous. But security is actually much higher. And when you work in small and middle size comapnies you are closer to the ground reality. A state bank branch manager has actually more skills than a celebrated investment bank analyst.

I would like to correct you regarding Jobs which will be replaced by AI .You mentioned Tele marketer or a Bank Professional .
Saari companies zyada paisa bana ke kya ukhad degi jab maximum janta ke paas job na ho aur na paisa ho. Companies ke aas paas gareebi badhegi toh ghanta ai product bikega inka😂😂😂😂😂

Tbh, as a fresher I don’t know what to do and am clueless about my future. There are layoffs everywhere. If you wanna pursue masters from abroad, don’t do it as there are no jobs there. If you wanna do an mba, it isn’t worth it as mbas are not getting jobs. And, just an undergraduate degree doesn’t suffice for getting a good paying job. Feel helpless.
