@@NyQuilDonut eh when played overwatch a few years ago people were insistent on meta picks even at relatively lower brackets. Yeah a lot of characters you could play without people complaining but there were like more than ten that I remember you'd get fucking yelled at for even picking.
The story and cinematics are very counter-intuitive to the gameplay, especially because they delayed the co-op mode for ow2. You rarely ever feel like your teammates are actual teammates and not just people who will curse you out then throw your games because you wanted to play a certain hero and your team started losing.

The reason the Total War franchise impressed me when I first played was realizing that it was a strategy game that had trailer level graphics. Thousands of troops on the field and crazy detail (at the time) on the individual soldier.

But play the older historical games if you want a realistic strategic and tactical experience. The newer Warhammer games are just op stat modifiers and single hero units lol

Lol, even Total-War warhammer, you can have like battles with 5000 people, bringing your computer to it's knees. Latest trailer has battle with like 50 000 that would cover 2 full maps.
I have genuinely had that exact moment in Warzone that you see on the trailer. So that is actually legit. Same cave on a boat with my friends, and it was the second to last circle, and almost everyone was stuck in that cave as we rushed through it on a boat shooting and nading all the way there not too get killed. It's just one of those epic moments you never forget.
This is why I love dishonored- without having played the game you would think the trailer is exaggerating, and then you get into the game and it's even cooler
personally its kinda similar with battlefield on how the trailers are similar to the actual gameplay, especially battlefield 1, the game that really doesnt and is pretty different from the trailer to the gameplay is bf 2042

You already knew the goal and ending from the beginning but you just needed to do the "how you got there" part. You can literally disregard the choke animation easily and never see it the entire time by just killing everyone. It's actually more simple and easier. I don't think you're skilled enough to do that though if you resort to choke holding every enemy.
Sadly the fighting is the only thing there was for botw, empty as hell world, unremarkable characters aside from the main quest of the 4 beasts, the 4beasts being boring dungeons themselves, the shrines being copy pasted 120x, your inventory being locked behind some 400+ randomly spread collectibles, upgrading armor felt like a chore but i guess actually finding a set you want to use was somewhat nice, the climbing restricting your pathing based on how much food with + stamina you prepared OR you have to walk around the streamlined path... I barely endured breakable weapons until i had enough space to have around 12 of them i still had no use for bows or shields until i maxed weapons inventory

I think Warframe is the only game I have seen where the trailers match the gameplay accurately. A few years ago they hired a studio to make a trailer for a new update, the people who produced the trailer made one of the warframes do a sick powerful move that wasn’t available in the actual game so the devs quickly made an augment mod for that warframe so it could do the move from the trailer cool story.

when i was younger the original wow cinematics made me so hyped but the contrast to the actual game was so hard, it looked so much like a shitty korean mmo that i never played it. Thought the gameplay looked terrible and not fun at all. I am thankful i had such a visceral bad reaction to it, wow has ruined many lives and brought plague upon many families, i was spared of that.
This feels like a Mcdonalds burger ad compared to the real product situation. It expresses the feeling of what it's like to enjoy product using visuals to get people excited to consume product.

This is why I don’t give a fuck about pre-rendered trailers that don’t show any gameplay. Who honestly cares? Any publisher can drop the money on a cinematic trailer, it literally has nothing to do at all with the actual game.
This video was a masterpiece. Dunkey really captured the essence of Halo Infinite, from the epic story to the immersive gameplay. I especially loved the part where he threw a grenade at his own warthog and flew across the map. That was some 200 IQ strategy right there. Dunkey is truly the best Halo player of all time, no one can compete with his skills and charisma. He deserves to be inducted into the Halo Hall of Fame, along with Master Chief and Cortana. 10/10 video, would watch again.👏👏👏
Back in the day when Warcraft III came out, everybody was blown away by how amazing the cinematics looked. You know the gameplay graphics have absolutely nothing to do with it, but it was crazy enough alone to see an animated into of this quality !

Except most of these aren't false advertising since they will state that it's a not gameplay footage and most people with half a brain would know if it's gameplay or not. Cinematic trailer is meant to hype up a game, show some cool lore and cool animation, not to show you how the game actually play and Most games wouldn't even play well if play exactly like the cinematics.
If you buy games based on cinematic trailers, you need some serious help.

The trailers i love the most are the ones with a massive battle. Its like 5000 thousands people in the trailer but not more than 10 in the actual game

I have genuinely had that exact moment in Warzone that you see on the trailer.
So that is actually legit.
Same cave on a boat with my friends, and it was the second to last circle, and almost everyone was stuck in that cave as we rushed through it on a boat shooting and nading all the way there not too get killed.
It's just one of those epic moments you never forget.
So many words were conveyed and spoken through this video, yet no words had to be said at all. A true masterpiece dunkey!

personally its kinda similar with battlefield on how the trailers are similar to the actual gameplay, especially battlefield 1, the game that really doesnt and is pretty different from the trailer to the gameplay is bf 2042
It's kinda gay though, cause the game discourages you doing all that cool shit, and instead tries to push you to use the same choking animation a billion times. I know you can just disregard the bad ending, but it's still pretty lame.

You already knew the goal and ending from the beginning but you just needed to do the "how you got there" part. You can literally disregard the choke animation easily and never see it the entire time by just killing everyone. It's actually more simple and easier. I don't think you're skilled enough to do that though if you resort to choke holding every enemy.

I was expecting something like that in the end of the video, BOTW's gameplay trailer and actual gameplay that is the same thing.
Sadly the fighting is the only thing there was for botw, empty as hell world, unremarkable characters aside from the main quest of the 4 beasts, the 4beasts being boring dungeons themselves, the shrines being copy pasted 120x, your inventory being locked behind some 400+ randomly spread collectibles, upgrading armor felt like a chore but i guess actually finding a set you want to use was somewhat nice, the climbing restricting your pathing based on how much food with + stamina you prepared OR you have to walk around the streamlined path... I barely endured breakable weapons until i had enough space to have around 12 of them i still had no use for bows or shields until i maxed weapons inventory

I think Warframe is the only game I have seen where the trailers match the gameplay accurately. A few years ago they hired a studio to make a trailer for a new update, the people who produced the trailer made one of the warframes do a sick powerful move that wasn’t available in the actual game so the devs quickly made an augment mod for that warframe so it could do the move from the trailer cool story.
Ah yes. All those trailers of standing in a relay comparing who has the worst fashion and the most money while laughing at the obscene trade offers for the latest riven flavor of the week.

the fact that seeing wow footage makes me want to play it, really shows how easily addicted I am to things
when i was younger the original wow cinematics made me so hyped but the contrast to the actual game was so hard, it looked so much like a shitty korean mmo that i never played it. Thought the gameplay looked terrible and not fun at all.
I am thankful i had such a visceral bad reaction to it, wow has ruined many lives and brought plague upon many families, i was spared of that.

This video was a masterpiece. Dunkey really captured the essence of Halo Infinite, from the epic story to the immersive gameplay. I especially loved the part where he threw a grenade at his own warthog and flew across the map. That was some 200 IQ strategy right there. Dunkey is truly the best Halo player of all time, no one can compete with his skills and charisma. He deserves to be inducted into the Halo Hall of Fame, along with Master Chief and Cortana. 10/10 video, would watch again.👏👏👏

Back in the day when Warcraft III came out, everybody was blown away by how amazing the cinematics looked. You know the gameplay graphics have absolutely nothing to do with it, but it was crazy enough alone to see an animated into of this quality !
I feel ya. I loved WoW's cinematics. The in-game art style not being remotely near them was actually a good thing, because I'd hate to play a game that looked like the cinematics.
Starcraft's animated cut scenes blew my mind in 1999- but in a world where CG is 90% of hollywood, it no longer has the same impact.
Truly a Ubisoft moment.
You know what's awesome? The Finals trailer looks sick and cinematic like these examples... but the gameplay is beyond that! Crazy!
